Lol, we have some funky fungi colors for you this round at Sunday Stamps #351! I'm just gonna say straight up - these colors are NOT for the faint of heart! We are kicking off with a bang! It took me a while to suss out an image that I thought I could do in these colors, that WASN'T flowers, lol. The yellow and the peachy-orange were tough! Then I thought, hey, they would make great umbrella colors! See how my mind works?? From there, I knew I just wanted to dress my rainy lady in the rest of the colors, which worked a treat! I experimented with the "rain" image in the Umbrella Days set, too - I love how so many of our patterns are made to interlock! Now, off to find Blackberry boots just like hers...lol. I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for our fun colors! Meet you at the challenge! Umbrella Days Stamp Set; Basic White & Moody Mauve CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Pebbled Path Inks; Daffodil Delight; Peach Pie, Pebbled Path, Moody Mauve & Blackberry Bliss Blends Markers; Moody Mauve Speckled Dots; #SSC351. Lol, even though I'm not on this team anymore, I still LOVE me some Christmas challenges! So I'm back like a new penny to Sparkles #168, who would like to see something warm and cozy! One of my favorite cozy Christmas images in my collection is this snuggly moose from last year's Festive & Fun - a cute sweater AND he baked! Or steamed, at least, lol. I also love to color, of course, and this image is just perfect for a little of that, without being overwhelming. I gave him a pretty Mossy Meadow sweater, and dolled up that pudding, too, finishing with a few Cherry Cobbler Berries. I even found a little bit of Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim! Simple but festive - just right! Festive & Fun Stamp Set (retired 2024); Basic White & Mossy Meadow CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Basic Black, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler & Pecan Pie Blends Markers; Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim; Cherry Cobbler Berries; #SCC168. I have just the thing from the upcoming Online Exclusive preorder, too, lol. Here's a peek at Detailed Succulent, a lovely multi-step set! It's so pretty, and being from Arizona, I really can't lay off anything cactus or succulent themed, lol. The shoe fits! Anyway, I also couldn't resist featuring this with some retired Soft Succulent details - made for each other! I started with a background of Soft Succulent for my beauty, then added a stamped-off layer of Highland Heather - it looks like so many of the plantings I see in the yards around here! I added a spray of speckles for some texture, and finished with my last 5 Soft Succulent Opal Rounds. Love it! Detailed Succulent Stamp Set; Basic White & Soft Succulent (retired) CS; Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent (both retired) & Highland Heather Inks; Soft Succulent Opal Rounds (retired); #TMR194. For this challenge, I got to combine a stash item with something brand new and upcoming! For my stash item, I remembered I still had a partial pack of the Bright & Beautiful DSP - and it has a few sheets that feature stars! I went with this pretty watercolor-y one in multiple fun colors! I also had a stack of pre-order stamps still on my desk, lol, and the one right on top is the Spring Corners bundle. I spotted this sentiment there right away, and even though I'm not really showing off the fun new traits of this set ("corners," anyone??) it just seemed too appropriate for this paper, lol. There was even this fun starburst die to go with that that complements the theme, I think. I finished with some Lemon Lolly details - I think maybe I need to give this color a better shake, lol. Spring Corners Stamp Set; Bright & Beautiful DSP; Basic White & Lemon Lolly CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Spring Corners Dies; Lemon Lolly Baker's Twine; Lemon Lolly Solid Gems; #SOS538. Lol, so thrilled to kick off the new year with Farm Quest #67 - their latest challenge theme is for paths, trails, walkways or roads! Time for a dig! I could just barely remember that I might have some likely papers in one of my "landscaping" packs - which one was it?? I finally scrounged up my old pack of Meandering Meadows - perfect! This bold watercolor wash of a split rail fence trail immediately grabbed me, and I pulled out the accompanying Garden Meadow bundle for some extra details. A couple touches of pretty meadow flowers, and the PERFECT sentiment for New Year's Day, and we are all set! I even still have some brass birds and dragonflies to go with! May this year be FULL of blessings for all of us! Garden Meadow Stamp Set; Meandering Meadow DSP; Basic White & Melon Mambo CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Garden Meadow & Tasteful Labels (retired) Dies; Brass Dragonflies & Birds; #FQCB67. With impeccable timing, In{k}spire Me #552 is here for a New Years' challenge! Let's do it! I knew right away I wanted to pull out my beautiful Light the Sky bundle for this one - these fireworks are just amazing! I fit three different bursts on my black background, then pieced different colors behind them to really light up the night! It's really effective, I think! I then did up my New Year's sentiment to go with, and finished with a few Balmy Blue Iridescent Pastel Gems - just the right amount of extra sparkle! Happy New Year, everyone! Be safe! Light the Sky Stamp Set; Basic Black, Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist & Coastal Cabana CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Light the Sky & Nested Essentials Dies; Balmy Blue Iridescent Pastel Gems; #IMC552. Time for a trip down memory lane - we want to see your favorite challenge from this past year at Make My Monday #242! After a peek at this year's past challenge, I went with #222 - Transport! It's perfect for showing off our latest upcoming Online Exclusive - Adventure Together! This stamp bundle comes with cute dies to go with the camper and camping accessories, lol - check out that tire tread! I couldn't resist pairing it today with my beloved Enjoy the Journey DSP, AND doing it up in fun bright colors! What a sight a Melon Mambo camper would be! I can't wait to see what challenge YOU choose from this past year - meet you at the challenge! Adventure Together Stamp Set; Enjoy the Journey DSP (retired); Basic White & Calypso Coral CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Melon Mambo Inks; Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate & Pool Party Blends Markers; Adventure Together Dies; Melon Mambo Solid Faceted Gems; #MMM242. What a fun challenge to close out the year! SU Only #366 wants to see "all that glitters!" I decided to combine the gorgeous Season of Elegance DSP with some Champagne Glimmer Paper and see what happened! I set up a lovely neutrals-with-gold background with the DSP and then cut five Forever Forest Pines from the glimmer paper to build my little landscape. It came out just as I hoped! I heat embossed this perfect sentiment from Decorative Trees and finished with some Gold Sparkle Gems. It ALL glitters today, lol! Decorative Trees Stamp Set; Season of Elegance DSP; Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake & Champagne Glimmer CS; Versamark Ink; Gold EP; Forever Forest & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Gold Sparkle Gems; #SUOC366. OK, I love the idea behind this round of Shopping Our Stash #537 - it's called "my precious," and no, it's not an LOTR thing - they want us to use something we've been hoarding for too long! Since we're still in December, I decided to do a Christmas card - I love doing these all year round, but really, December is my high season! I pulled out some super oldies for this one - my "precious" is these gorgeous Snowflake Elements embellishments! These delicate laser cut wooden beauties were released I think in 2014 or 15, and I loved them so much! These are my very LAST 5 - I'm finally letting go! I floated them over my favorite sheet of Country Woods DSP, and also added a sentiment from my favorite Christmas Sentiment set - Tin of Tags from 2016! Such a playful mix of phrases and fonts! I couldn't resist finishing with some Pearl Berries for a little shine, and I LOVE how it came out! Now I won't want to mail this card next year, lol... Tin of Tags Stamp Set (retired 2016); Country Woods DSP; Basic White & Cherry Cobbler CS; Cherry Cobbler Ink; Stylish Shapes Dies; Snowflake Elements (retired) & Pearl Berries; #SOS537. So lovely - In{k}spire Me #551 is rounding out their month of holiday themes with "Silent Night!" One of my favorites! After some thought, I decided to tap our lovely Shepherd's Care set for this one - they have their own line in the carol, after all! This time, I kinda CAS'ed a Stampin' Up! sample - I was really interested to try adding color to the image this time! After my Blends, the Water Painters are my favorite coloring tool! It was sweet to add gentle washes of color to select areas - I think pretty effective, too! It definitely evokes the song for me, too... Shepherd's Care Stamp Set; Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake & Misty Moonlight CS; Crumb Cake, Misty Moonlight, Old Olive & Crushed Curry Inks; Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems; #IMC551. |
