I'm loving our big bold daisy sketch at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #522! It will be so fun to translate into a fun fold for SU Only #283, too! My favorite new big flower is our Sale-A-Bration Delicate Dahlias, and today was my chance to combine the line art drawing with the DistINKtive stamp - love it! I did a set of leaves to go with as well, and had so much fun fussy cutting! When I went hunting for bold stripes, I remembered these pretty gold ones from our Expressions in Ink pack, so I pulled in this gorgeous Pale Papaya sheet, too - perfect colors for my dahlia! Translating all this into a modified trifold was a piece of cake! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our challenges this week - meet you there! Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set; Expressions in Ink DSP; Basic White CS; Soft Suede, Pale Papaya & Shaded Spruce Inks; Tasteful Labels Dies; Brushed Metallic Dots; #TSOT522; #SUOC283.

Lovely - a fun Fall "recipe" from this week's As You See It #257 - let's cook! I knew right away I'd go for the lovely die-cut wheat stems in our new Harvest dies - love these! So then it was just a question of how to arrange the rest of the "ingredients!" Our Pansy Petals DSP has several colors of gingham check paper, so I went with this gorgeous Soft Succulent sheet, which looks perfect over the Crumb Cake background! I used our now-retired Pinewood Planks for my embossing folder, snuck in a little twine behind this sweet sentiment from the accompanying Nature's Harvest, and finished with some Brushed Metallic Dots. So far, I have loved every card I've made with this bundle - so versatile! Nature's Harvest Stamp Set; Pansy Petals DSP; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Bumblebee CS; Early Espresso Ink; Pinewood Planks EF (retired); Harvest Dies; Linen Thread; Brushed Metallic Dots; #AYSI257. Oo, In{k}spire Me #456 has such a pretty combo this week - I love the movement in this sketch, AND the bold colors! So, I definitely took some liberties here: square cards are harder for me to mail, so I scrapped that, and, well, a sketch is just a guideline, right? Lol, I'm a rebel in my own mind! I love how these patriotic colors translated into bold stitchy flowers with In Bloom, and I was so happy to find dotty scraps in the right DSP colors for my columns. Gotta love it when it all comes together! In Bloom Stamp Set; Night of Navy & Balmy Blue DSP scraps; Basic White, Real Red, Balmy Blue & Night of Navy CS; Night of Navy & Real Red Inks; Pierced Blooms Dies; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #IM456. Such a super fun combo at this week's Fusion Crayons challenge! Who doesn't love a nice fresh box of crayons?? So I don't have a good crayon image to work with, but I DO still have my delightful It Starts With Art bundle! I love this little trio of drawing tools included there, and I took my color inspiration from my Playing With Patterns Resin Dots that just popped up on my desk! I even had a scrap of Purple Posy left for my sentiment! I love how clean and simple this turned out! It Starts With Art Stamp Set (retired 2020); Basic White, Coastal Cabana & Purple Posy (retired) CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Purple Posy (retired) & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Coastal Cabana Stamp-n-Write Marker; Coastal Cabana Resin Dots; #FusionCrayons. What a perfect theme at this week's Retro Rubber #165 - "cruisin," or, modes of transportation! I know I have some goodies in the vault for this one, lol... After much dithering, I settled on 2017's Tasty Trucks - who doesn't love a good food truck?? Especially a pretty Bermuda Bay one like this, that also sells cupcakes, lol. I pulled out my trusty Pattern Party DSP for some color inspiration, and came up with this Bermuda-Poppy combo that works really well - so much fun to color! I layered everything in Stitched Rectangles, which I also love to use to trim down to a custom size, like I did this card for the truck layer - it's a piece of cake, yuk, yuk... Tasty Trucks Stamp Set (retired 2017); Pattern Party DSP; Basic White & Bermuda Bay CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Pool Party, Poppy Parade & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #RRCB165. Oh gosh, I laughed out loud when I saw this week's code word at Addicted to CAS #204 - "fishy!" I have a couple fish from current sets I could choose from, but for some reason, last year's Make A Splash was calling to me, lol. I skipped the fish bowl, and let my guys free-style it this round! These stamps I find a little tricky - they have lots of shading on them, but I feel like they don't look quite right simply stamped in the target color, either. My solution is to stamp in Smoky Slate, or some other paler neutral, and color all over with my Mango Melody blend. I think I like the finished effect, popped eyes and all, lol. Make A Splash Stamp Set (retired 2020); Basic White CS; Smoky Slate & Balmy Blue Inks; Mango Melody Blends Marker; #ATC204. Pumpkin Club August 28! Did you get your August Pumpkin kit yet? Look at the bold fresh colors that Inspire Create Challenge #97 has for this week - gorgeous! I'm excited to show off another recent SAB arrival - Delicate Dahlias! I am fascinated by this set, I admit, because of the combo of line art AND DistINKtive images! I know I'll be trying my hand at combining them at some point, but today, I took the DistINKtive elements for a spin. At first I thought I was going to play with getting two colors on the flowers together, but then I realized - duh, just stamp two flowers, lol. I must need a cuppa or something! I did go ahead and fussy cut a mask so I could put some partial leaves around them, too - love it! Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set; Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Calypso Coral, Bumblebee, Just Jade & Night of Navy Inks; Iridescent Sequins; #ICC97. Pumpkin Club August 28! Such fun shapes to play with and layer this week with our sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #521! I'd been holding off on the gorgeous new Beauty of Tomorrow suite until the DSP came in - and it finally did! I was so psyched to take this paper, Blackberry Beauty, out to play! I chose this sheet of lovely wild stems, and touches of gilding on the tiny blossoms - love it! I pulled in the stamp set as well, with this sweet sentiment, and a couple of these pretty birds for accents - I feel like I'm in a wild blackberry meadow for sure! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for this one - meet you at the challenge! Beauty of Tomorrow Stamp Set; Blackberry Beauty DSP; Basic White & Blackberry Bliss CS; Early Espresso & Blackberry Bliss Inks; Beautiful Leaves Dies; Banners Pick a Punch; Gilded Gems; #TSOT521. Nice - I love the birthday theme at this week's Cardz 4 Guyz #277- "age is just a number!" This seems like the perfect time to finally break down and use my Counting Sheep bundle from the SAB catalog - yes, yes, I ended up just getting them - they have dies! I HAD to! I ended up going with this capering guy, because he looked like the one most likely to have a balloon, lol. I added a party hat for the big day, and was delighted to include a little fencing backdrop - I'm really starting to get used to dies sets that have more in them than just the stamps! Happy Birthday, C4G! Many more! Counting Sheep Stamp Set; Pattern Party DSP; Basic White & Sahara Sand CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Basic Black & Gray Granite Blends Markers; Sheep Dies; #C4G277. We're checking our horizons this week at Sunday Stamps #264 with this fun landscape sketch! When I started thinking about the two-tone background, I realized I wanted to show off some DSP there, and my Sweet As A Peach suite has NOT been getting enough air time! I set up two pretty patterns together and banded them with some Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon. I next stamped out my own branch of peaches with a little help from the amazing Peach Dies, and added this simple sentiment. A couple of my final peachy sequins leftover from last month's Paper Pumpkin, and I am all set! I can't wait to see YOUR creations with our sketch this week - meet you at the challenge! Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set; You're A Peach DSP; Basic White & Pear Pizzazz CS; Pear Pizzazz, Pale Papaya & Calypso Coral Inks; Peach Dies; Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon; Peach Sequins; #SSC264.
