Here's another trick I've been wanting to try that I finally got around to - hand-trimming the embossed roses from the Manhattan Flower embossing folder. I layered this over Baja Breeze and Brushed Silver CS for a bit of gleam, and added a little spray of pearls. Simple, elegant, dramatic! Love it... Whisper White, Brushed Silver and Baja Breeze CS; Well Scripted stamp set, Manhattan Flower embossing folder; self-adhesive pearls.

Here was a quick Thanksgiving card I made for the Mtview Holiday Boutique - what a blast it was! I had SO much fun - they were truly a wonderful group of people, welcoming and loving, and definitely soothing my first-show jitters in a a very reassuring way. I have the bug now - I'm already planning next year's table! Big plans! More Mustard, Cajun Craze & Very Vanilla CS; Autumn Spice Specialty DSP (retired); Day of Gratitude stamp set; Victoria lace ribbon trim. Tomorrow is the BIG day! Stampin’ Up has announced their Online Extravaganza, an annual sale to kick off the holiday shopping season! It begins TOMORROW, Monday, November 21, 2011, and runs through Wednesday, November 30, 2011! Shop in my Online Store on Monday, November 21, to take advantage of the great deals. Deals like FREE digital downloads valued at $40 when you buy My Digital Studio Express, 60 percent off select Designer Fabrics, and 30 percent off an exclusive ribbon bundle are listed as some of the specials ALSO There will be two items on sale for 24 hours only (they aren’t telling me what those items are so it will be a surprise for me, too) (November 21, 12:01 AM – 11:59 PM mountain time) So make sure you don’t miss the first 24 hours of Online Extravaganza! Here's a little Mother's Day card I CAS'ed from somewhere - Stampin' Connection maybe? Anyway, I thought it would be a great chance to use some of my old retired To The Nines Specialty DSP, which is a card stock weight, so I was able to use it for the card base itself. This was offset with another retired DSP from the Parisian Summer set. I simply edged it and punched a window hole for the butterfly from God's Beauty to rest on... A fun little layout exercise! As you can tell, I really hit my retired DSPs for the ready-made cards for the Mountainview Presbyterian Holiday Boutique! To The Nines Specialty DSP (retired & Parisian Summer DSP (retired); Chocolate Chip Ink; God's Beauty (retired) & All Holidays (retired) stamp sets; Scalloped Trim Border & 1 5/8" Circle punches; Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon; Little Leaves die; Old Olive button from Brights pack. Can I tell you how bizarre it is to make a July 4 card in November? It just feels wrong! I thought this one was interesting because I finally used my Movers & Shapers die bed the way it's supposed to be used - to create a little window for an additional punched shape to peek through. Cute effect... Crumb Cake, Brilliant Blue (retired) & Whisper White CS; July Fourth (retired) stamp set; Movers & Shapers with Start shape; Large star punch; Real Red, Brilliant Blue (retired) and Whisper White inks; 1/4" Real Red grosgrain ribbon. Here's a quick wedding-esque Congrats card I put together using my retired Urban Oasis DSP. Fun, fun, fun! This DSP coordinated really well with the 5th Ave Floral stamp set, though for this card, the only stamped item is the sentiment! I like how sparkly it is, too... Shimmer White, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss (retired) CS; Urban Oasis (retired) DSP; Warmest Regards (retired) stamp set; Little Leaves embosslit, Trio Flower (retired) punch; self-adhesive rhinestones. Here's another graduation card using the Happy Grad stamp set that I borrowed from my upline, Julie! I wanted to use some of the patterns I have shied away from in my leftover Greenhouse Gala pack - this came out nice and bright! Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie CS; Greenhouse Gala DSP (retired); 1" Chocolate Chip satin ribbon; Happy Grad (retired) stamp set. Here's the gift we gave Mom for her birthday - don't panic, she actually asked for this! We decorated a box we had (a nice one, too) with papers from the retired Sweet Stitches DSP. I added text made from the Naturally Serif Alphabet die, and a daisy made with the Daisies #2 die. We put lots of little compartments filled with sewing goodies inside. I decided to try some new color combos for Mom's birthday card - Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Real Red! These colors come together SO beautifully in the now retired Greenhouse Gala DSP - I miss having it to play with more often... I also wanted to use this paper because I re-covered Mom's Favorite study bible in another paper choice from this collection, so now I always think of her when I see anything from this set! Pumpkin Pie, Real Red CS; Greenhouse Gala DSP, Pear Pizzazz Ink, ribbon and glimmer brad; Happiest of Birthdays and Friendship Never Fades stamp sets; Scallop Trim Border and 5-Petal Flower punches. |
