I couldn't resist Inspire Create Challenge #214's "water" challenge - we have so many awesome seashore sets right now! I couldn't resist featuring Relaxing Waterside again today - I had another one of the pretty shore scenes from the DSP I could use, too! This bluff looking over the sand is EXACTLY where I'd park my comfie reading chair, for sure - I am a dedicated loafer and reader at the beach! I had really been wanting to break out the book and "chapter" sentiment - too cute - and I can hear the little gull saying, "What are YOU looking at, eh?" Lol. Relaxing Waterside Stamp Set & Dies; Waterside Retreat DSP; Basic White & Pecan Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Old Olive, Gray Granite & Pecan Pie Inks; Pecan Pie, Daffodil Delight, Misty Moonlight & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Blender Pen; 1 1/4" Circle Punch; Pebbles Enamel Shapes (retired); #ICC214.

We want to see some kind of embossing this round at Make My Monday #256 - dry or heat! I knew this was a splendid chance to pull out my glorious hybrid embossing folder for the Sunrise Sailing bundle - I've always wished I knew how to sail! I kept it all super simple to let the embossing really shine - just an embossed panel in Cloud Cover over Misty Moonlight, dressed up with a bit of Craft Whisper White Ink, and some Misty Moonlight sponged on the waves - the touches of ink really bring out the emboss relief, I think! I finished with this pretty retirement sentiment and some tiny "Waves" rhinestones - love it! I even embossed the waves onto my envelope flap! I can't wait to see YOUR embossing adventures - meet you at the challenge! Sunrise Sailing Stamp Set & EF; Basic White, Misty Moonlight & Cloud Cover CS; Whisper White Craft & Misty Moonlight Inks; Sponge Daubers; Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels; #MMM256. Very fun! The Male Room #198 has an "under the sea" theme this round! I'm in! While I've been rocking my Ocean Friends suite hard lately, for this one I wanted to go back to the gorgeous Sea of Textures set from 2020. A little moodier, and such fun dies! I paired it up with our also-retired By The Bay DSP, and I couldn't resist this gorgeous fish swirl sheet with eth gold accents! I stamped my sentiment directly on the DSP, and went to work on my octopus. I used a Blender Pen to smudge up his arms a little, and then went back and picked out all the suckers in a little black - I really like the look! I gave him some netting to float over and finished with our Antique Pearls. So pretty! Sea of Textures Stamp Set (retired 2020); By The Bay DSP (retired); Basic White, Crumb Cake & Mint Macaron (retired) CS; Night of Navy Ink; Blender Pen; Basic Black Blends Marker; Under The Sea Dies (retired); Antique Pearls; #TMR198. So excited - CAS on Friday #308 is having a black, white and ONE color challenge this round - these are so fun and dramatic! I ended up going ULTRA CAS for this one, lol. I started by searching for good images to stamp in black and white, but that I could add a splash of color to - it was tougher than I thought! When I spotted my Trusty Tools set, which has been a little lonely lately, lol, I wondered how I could add color that made sense to some of the tools. The paintbrush really stood out to me - do I have any "swooshes" I could use for paint? Turns out I did, and a big search for the sentiment ensued. I went with retirement, because I remembered a co-worker once telling me that he didn't really retire, he just changed bosses, lol. He landed a big "honey-do" list when he got home! I guess it stuck with me, lol. Trusty Tools, Gone Fishing & Sheltering Tree (retired 2019) stamp sets; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Real Red Inks; Iridescent Discs in Real Red; #CASOF308. Critter Class 2025! Yay! It's finally time for my favorite class of the year - critters! We have SO many new little friends, I can't wait to give them the love they deserve! This class will include 6 cards, with envelopes, for all occasions! You'll get all the supplies needed (bring your own favorite adhesive and snips), snack, drinks and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, May 17 at 2 pm - RSVP now to save your spot! I really like the theme at this month's The Male Room #180 - feathers! I know I have some cool ones! I thought at first I'd pull something from my Shelves of Retirement for this one, but then I remembered - aren't there some flies in the Gone Fishing suite? Those have feathers, right? Score! I pulled this fun sheet FULL of flies (the good kind, lol) for my background, and stamped up this larger one to add as an accent to my sentiment. I even gave it a little silver flash, and completed the scene with a hungry trout on the prowl! A few tiny first-run Misty Moonlight enamel dots finish things off! Not too bad! Gone Fishing Stamp Set; Let's Go Fishing DSP; Very Vanilla, Misty Moonlight & Silver Foil CS; Misty Moonlight & Pebbled Path Inks; Gone Fishing & Nested Essentials Dies; Misty Moonlight Enamel Dots (retired); #TMR180. We're all about the "mod circles" this week at Retro Rubber #185! Hopefully I can make it tropical for SU Only #304, too! Hm, this was trickier than I thought it would be! I finally settled on creating my "circle" background with Swirly Bird from 2019 - I'm liking the effect! I went with Tahitian Tide and Parakeet Party, my two most tropical colors, lol. I then picked a pineapple for my big tropical feature - we have a dandy one in our old Timeless Tropical bundle, and I pulled the sentiment from there as well. Whew! I was able to squeeze on my very last two Tropical Oasis Trinkets, too - too mish-mosh?? It's working for me! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our challenges, too - meet you there! Swirly Bird (retired 2019) & Timeless Tropical (retired 2022) Stamp Sets; Basic White, Tahitian Tide, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry & Parakeet Party CS; Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide & Soft Suede Inks; In the Tropics (retired) & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Tropical Oasis Trinkets (retired); #RRCB185; #SUOC304. Today I get to try out another new (to me!) challenge blog! I'm playing at the Alphabet Challenge, where "T" is for "trees!" It just so happens, I have some brand new trees to play with, too! Here's a look at Paradise Palms, which also comes with a really well-planned die set, too! I tried to stay focused on the trees, lol, but I couldn't resist trying out the little decorative strip elements in the dies, too - I needed a splash of blue for my beach scene anyway, lol. I'm starting to feel Maui calling! Paradise Palms Stamp Set; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Pool Party CS; Crumb Cake, Just Jade & Soft Suede Inks; Palms & Stitched Shapes (retired) Dies; Wonderful Gems; #AlphabetChallengeTrees. It's that fab day again - time for another fun sketch from Fab Friday #159! Won't you join us? Time to pull out another lonely stamp set - I LOVE the images in Country Livin'! And Well Said was perfect to pair with it - a cute and quick little retirement card, with fun coloring thrown in, lol. I have a friend who plans to spend his retirement restoring old cars - sounds like Heaven for some, lol... So, what will YOU create? I can't wait to see you over at the challenge! Country Livin' & Well Said Stamp Sets; Wood Textures DSP; Crumb Cake, Whisper White & Pear Pizzazz CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Cajun Craze & Old Olive Blends Markers; Linen Thread; Cajun Craze Enamel Dots (retired); #FabFri159. Man Cards 2019 Yay! It's finally time for THE class for the men in our life! Sometimes it can be a little tough to "go manly" for our guys, but this class guarantees something for all our dudes! This class will feature 6 all-occasion "man" cards, without a doily or a butterfly in sight, lol. You'll have your choice of sentiments that most suit your needs, too! Class is $25, and provides all supplies (bring your own snips and fave adhesive!), drinks, snacks and a special gift from me! You can also take this class for FREE with your order of $30 or more! RSVP today! Class is still on for Saturday, March 16 at 3 pm. See you there! There's a fabulous sketch for us this week at Inspire Create #35! So glad I have a stack of new stamps to break in! I sorted through my shrinking pile of new goodies (but another box is on the way already, lol) and the one I just really wanted to get inky was Beach Happy. Such a fun builder st! There's all kinds of two-step combos, from coloring in the umbrella and beach chair, to a two part palm tree that I just couldn't work in today, sigh... I made up for it with my beach tote and floppy hat, though, lol. The Seaside EF made a perfect background for me, and I finished with some sunny Glimmer Dots, too. I added this fun sentiment from the Well Said set, and Happy Retirement is on the inside - don't we all want to live it up for retirement?? Beach Happy & Well Said Stamp Sets; Coastal Cabana, Whisper White & Bermuda Bay CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Coastal Cabana, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody & Granny Apple Green Inks; Stitched Shapes Framelits; Seaside EF; Crushed Curry Glimmer Dots; #ICC35. Thank You Cards Class Feb 7 & 9! I don't know about you, but I ALWAYS need Thank You cards! It's so handy to have a little stash on hand - and we have some gorgeous new sets for them right now, too! Class will include all supplies needed for 6 cards and envelopes (bring your own snips and fave adhesive!), drinks, snacks and a special gift from me, all for $25! Class could also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Thursday, Feb 7, at 630 pm, or, Saturday, Feb 9 at 3 pm! RSVP now to save your spot today! The Library Challenge #24 has a brand new cover for us this week - Absolute Beginners. Another new title for me, but gotta love that yellow scooter! So I OF COURSE ran straight for Mediterranean Moments - one Vespa, coming up! I kept the card fairly simple, leaving the background black and white, but I couldn't resist popping up a fussy cut and colored cycle - it's so small, I wanted to add a little pizzazz somehow. I tried to use an accent blue that mirrors the book cover color, too, Coastal Cabana seems about right! I turned it into a Happy Retirement (inside, lol) card using Well Said - this is the kind of retirement I think I could get used to, lol... Mediterranean Moments & Well Said Stamp Sets; Whisper White & Coastal Cabana CS; Memento Tuxedo Ink; Smoky Slate, Basic Black & Mango Melody Blends Markers; Crushed Curry Glimmer Dots; #TLC24. |
