 Well, I came across another new challenge blog the other week, and now I finally get a chance to play! Creative Creases Challenge #24 is all about a fun fold! I don't tend to do many fun-folds in class, but I do have a couple simple ones that are my faves - easel card, anyone? But today I'll go for a "Z" fold, I think - I love that floating panel! I decided to pull in Eclectic Garden, a new set in the Spring Mini Catalog - something about these turnips just called to me, I guess, lol. You know, the "self-made woman of vegetables," lol. Only Gerard Depardieu can make that sound like a good thing, lol. Anyway, I might have overdressed these beauties in the SAB paper from Friendly Hello - I just love these stripes, too! My inside DSP layer maybe doesn't go with turnips, sigh...  Yikes, this might be a tricky theme for me this week at CAS on Friday #223 - hexagons! I followed a hunch and found that I do still have JUST enough scrap of our old See a Silhouette DSP, the sheet that had the fun hexagons - yay! I carefully trimmed my piece down to focus more on the yellows - you can see from my envelope flap that this was some pretty colorful stuff! The paper seemed like the perfect background for this cute trio of bees from our Honeybee Home set, and I love this simple sentiment with them, too! Quick to put together today - yay! I paired it with a our cute new sailing set, Let's Set Sail, which, gasp, comes with a punch! Yay! With all these good ingredients, it was a snap to choose several items from the inspo list! Birds, green, brown, water, masculine, blue - I think I could make a case for all of these! What a fun way to design a card! Wow, check out the amazing combo at this week's Fusion "coffee chalkboard" challenge! Love it! I didn't think I would at first, but I hit both sides of the challenge today! Turns out, my attempt at a chalk board layout came together easy as pie - I just got out all my fave coffee sets and went to town! I LOVE how it came out! After I heat set all my white embossing, I added some of the sketch elements: the old Striped Burlap Trim was just perfect, and I fussy cut and pieced this simple cup from Press On. Last I tucked the little stitched oval in Cherry Cobbler under my ribbon - just right! I couldn't resist making my Winter card be a Christmas card, too, lol, and I of course had to pull in the cacti, since I live in the Sonoran Desert!
