This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz #318 is wide open - any coloring medium! Today seems like a great day to break in my new Rhino Ready stamp set - so I can color with my beloved Blends Markers! I finally broke down and got it because I don't have any rhinos for my critter collection, lol. It seems like this would be for a younger gent, so I didn't add any bling or embellies, though there's still plenty going on in this scene! I really LOVE these tree dies - I could see adding these in a LOT of places, and I used them to add a little height today. Such a cute set! Rhino Ready Stamp Set; Basic White, Shaded Spruce, Early Espresso & Granny Apple Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Ink; White EP; Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Shaded Spruce, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight & SU900 Blends Markers; Rhino Ready Dies; #C4G318. Oo, we're all about the drama this round at Cupcake Inspirations #565's black and white challenge! After a brief search, I found my almost completely unused pack of our All Together DSP - this was the cute little 6" x 6" pack that was released when we debuted our set of Natural Tones Blends Markers. This pack was made to color, and has some awesome black and white patterns! I found this leafy sheet that I liked, and went hunting for a botanical set to go with it - enter Plentiful Plants, lol. I stuck with a basic layout and layered everything for even more drama! My Matte Black Dots really pop out the dot accents on the DSP, too! Plentiful Plants Stamp Set; All Together DSP (retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Perfect Plants Dies; Matte Black Dots; #CIC565. Pumpkin Club April 1! This looks SUPER fun - AAA #236 wants to see something inspired by a movie, song or book! Challenge accepted! Surveying my stamps, I finally decided I had the most choice in the Christmas department. Once I managed that, I settled on using Santa's Delivery - I just didn't use this enough last year! I started putting together this big elaborate scene, with lots of characters, and remembered at the last second - gotta keep it CAS! Whew! So I colored up this cute train engine, and finished with a few action details. I think I'm channeling the Jackson 5 version of this song today! Santa's Delivery Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Real Red Inks; Real Red, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, Smoky Slate, Pool Party & SU 1000 Blends Markers; Santa's Train Dies (retired); Adhesive-Backed Stars (retired); #AAA236. We want to see your retro birthdays this round at Retro Rubber #203! I went for a deep dive today, and came up with 2015's From The Herd - such a cute set, lol. I think the last time I colored this one it was with Stamp-n-Write Markers instead of Blends - so much easier with the Blends! I floated everything over this fun dotty panel of Dandy Designs DSP, and took my detail colors from that. I also pieced my bottom sentiment so I could get in the "party animals" part, lol, even though you can probably tell that they are from looking! Good times! I can't wait to see YOUR birthday wishes this round - meet you at the challenge! From The Herd Stamp Set (retired 2015); Dandy Designs (SAB 2023); Basic White & Coastal Cabana CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green & Coastal Cabana Inks; Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay, Cajun Craze, Basic Black, SU400, SU 600 & SU1000 Blends Markers; #RRCB203. Very cool - what a great day to celebrate at Festive Friday #130 - International Children's Book Day! It was rough to realize I didn't have much in the way of BOOKS for this one, sigh. But I pulled some things I'm really happy with from the list - bright colors, alphabet letters, patterned paper and square! I tried to make it look a little like kids alphabet blocks, with a congratulatory "parents" sentiment below! I let my brights theme carry through, too, and added the last missing color to my envelope - very cheery! Happy Labels Stamp Set; Brights DSP in Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay & Gorgeous Grape; Basic White & Daffodil Delight CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Stylish Shapes & Alphabet A La Mode Dies; Happy Labels Pick a Punch; #FF0130. Oo, another fun quote from Time Out Challenges #234 - but it could be a tough one if I over-think it, lol. I went with our playful Playing in the Rain suite for this one - I think the set perfectly illustrates March, lol. Happy rain, Spring flower riots, and you STILL need a coat, lol! I did some scrappy panels of my two favorite DSPs, and paper-pieced a cheery little jacket for my dancing bunny. I also added more flowers - they're going crazy here with all our rain! Playing in the Rain Stamp Set; Rain or Shine DSP; Basic White & Balmy Blue CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody & Cajun Craze Blends Markers; Playing in the Rain & Stylish Shapes Dies; Loose Daisy Embellishments; #TOC234. Such a brilliant theme at this week's Shopping Our Stash #492 - "somewhere over the rainbow!" Love it! I have JUST the stash for this one, too, lol. I quick ran and pulled out my hoarded Sunshine & Rainbows DSP from last Spring's SAB, and I still have the stamp bundle to go with it, too! I picked a yummy sheet with lots of rainbows, and then did a stamped one on Basic White to go over it. I had to adapt some of my colors - is anybody else's Pool Party stamping green these days?? Grr... Anyway, I subbed Polished Pink for Melon Mambo (that pad is out in a class box) and Coastal Cabana for the Pool Party - it really brightens things up! I added the two sentiments, and a few clouds at the bottom to really round things out. I had to cut this with my very first Circles Collection Dies - love having the larger circles still on hand! Rainbow of Happiness Stamp Set (retired 2022); Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (retired); Basic White CS; Polished Pink, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Circles Collection Dies; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #SOS492. Time for another speed challenge at As You See It #295! Let's start our clocks and hit the outdoors! With less than two weeks til our annual trip to Maui, I pretty much have "beach" on the brain 24/7 right now, lol. With that thought, I checked out our new Seaside Bay suite that I broke down and got - some cute elements, and different enough from my other ocean-y sets, I decided. As I flipped through the DSP, though, the sheet I fell for the most was this lovely with all the seashells - which sent me straight back to the Friends Are Like Seashells set! That would be a tough one, but I like a challenge! So I thought the card all the way through, and assembled EVERYTHING I needed for each step, even moving my Big Shot right next to me, and laying out all the dies I'd need. I also chopped up my stamped shells CS ahead of time, because THAT die is one giant die, sigh. I originally wanted to tousle metallic thread behind the sentiment, and switched to our old Gold Hoops as faster. And no fussing with layers - I went with an edge-to-edge full cover for my card front. So with all that prep, I JUST squeaked in at 9 minutes, 57 seconds - and that doesn't include the envelope, which I think is fair, lol. My office looks like a tornado went through it! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy projects for this one - meet you there! Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set; By The Bay DSP; Basic White CS; Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Mint Macaron, Pool Party & Balmy Blue Inks; Seaside Seashells & Rectangle Stitched Dies; Gold Hoop (retired); Opal Rounds; #AYSI295. This will be a fun one - Make My Monday #196 would like us to use Spring colors this round! I couldn't resist letting the DSP do all the hard work today, and pulled out this perfect sheet of almost full-size Spring flowers from our just-retired Dainty Flowers pack! I actually wasn't even going to get the sweet Dainty Delight bundle that t coordinates with until I saw this paper in Sale-A-Bration, lol. I decided to do all my layers and extras in Fresh Freesia, which I think of as SUCH a Spring color! And these flowers definitely also take me to Spring - with all the rain we've been getting here in AZ (YAY! We need it so bad!) we are seeing a crazy number of wildflowers this year! The wash behind my house is just packed, and it's wonderful! Dainty Delight Stamp Set; Dainty Flowers DSP (SAB 2023); Basic White & Fresh Freesia CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Fresh Freesia Inks; Stylish Shapes Dies; Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon; Fresh Freesia Opaque Gems; #MMM196. Hm, which way should I go for The Flower Challenge #78's die cuts OR stencils challenge?? Die cuts win! The first set I thought of for that was our amazing In Bloom bundle, which retired last year. I love the dies so much that I rarely even USE the floral stamps, lol. I decided to go all out with some bold brights for my blossoms and leaves, and even did a background panel in our gorgeous Stitched Greenery die, too. I tried out that die on the envelope flap as well - it looks pretty darn cool, but I'm not sure it shows in the picture very well. I love all these cheery colors together, and resisted adding extra embellishments after I added centers to my tiny accent flowers. I think it's over-the-top enough already! In Bloom Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody & Daffodil Delight CS; Granny Apple Green Ink; Pierced Blooms (retired), Stylish Shapes & Stitched Greenery Dies; Classic Matte Dots; #TFC78.
