 Oo, a fun slanty sketch with ovals from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #281! I'm adding the cute colors from Pals Paper Arts #311, too! So, yes, Foxy Friends was still out on my desk, and I got to thinking about maybe a cute couple of girl and boy gray foxes. What can I say? There's a couple weddings coming up in our family and we need to get ready! All we needed was a little help from our bear friends, and we were all set!  Today's fun sketch is from Stamp, Ink, Paper #58! One of the many things I love about the adorable Foxy Friends set is all the different critters we can make with it! The raccoon arrangement especially caught my eye: I have really funny memories of the crazy wild raccoons by my Dad's house in Austin. He used to feed them - he'd get a big bag of cheap dog kibble from the local feed store just for them. He had this old pie pan he'd use to scoop their dinner out, and they'd come swarming in and line up along the bottom of the porch steps to wait, all sizes. Sometimes, if he wasn't on time, they'd even come up to the back door and put their little hands on the glass to peek in and look for him (and their dinner!) They made quite the racket, but it was always a highlight of my visits with him! But this sketch reminded me that I've had a special sheet of DSP that I've been hoarding for just the right moment to show off! This copper embossed page from the Affectionately Yours DSP pack has been dying to get out since On Stage in April, lol... There's also so much navy in that set that I decided to go with some Night of Navy accent pieces, and a copper-embossed button - something else I've been wanting to try. Pretty Pretty! I did have to flip my floating island to the right side, since my awesome Sunburst thinlet is set up that way, but still, I think this is a party card! I did have the occasion to have an awesome little pistachio cupcake at my downline Sarah's awesome craft retreat this past weekend. Hm, now I need to do this card in some cool pistachio greens, lol... Cute sketch over at Match the Sketch #134! Did you SEE the design team inspirations?? I think the gorgeous colors over at Create With Connie & Mary #416 are perfect for it! I think it's time to do another Thoughtful Branches card - LOVE all the possibilities with this bundle! And the colors, really, are just perfect - a Tip Top Taupe tree with Mint Macaron leaves and Dapper Denim birds, lol. Kinda hard NOT to use this set when I put it like that! Lovely! (Another cool thing about this set is that you can pair up almost all the sentiments with a little inside phrase, too - this card says "Your kindness means so much" on the inside.) I started out thinking I was going to do this geometric color block thing, and then found the jar set still out on my desk. Woops, lol. I tried not to look at it, but then this little voice whispered, "You could do a little jar instead of a tag, and the floating shape could be flowers, and there are skinny sentiments in there, right?" The whisper got louder and louder, I swear! I finally just gave in - you could hear all the little stamps doing a little victory song, sigh... I have it pretty bad for the jars, I guess... I think it'll be even more dramatic in Stamp Ink Paper #57's Black & White Challenge!For this card, I wanted a little pattern that wouldn't be too heavy stamped black-on-white - and I hit on Grateful Bunch, with its little dotted vine. Perfect! A sweep of white-on-black lace, some pretty flowers and a well-dressed butterfly later, and we are in business! You know, a friend of mine participates every year in a B&W swap at our convention, and I always thought she was nuts. I totally change my mind now - you were so right, Sarah! Love it! All these lovely colors play right into what I want most to do, really explore the stems and flowers that come in Jar of Love! I know we'll probably see a few jars of posies this week, but I don't care! I MUST INK THEM! I MUST! I'm not too proud to admit that I've spotted a few ways out there to add all the adorable little details to each flower, too, so glad someone figured that out for me, lol. I'm so happy with this card, I bet because I grin like a loon every time I use this set - it's as good as my beloved chickens, I think... I'm matching the Fab with this week's Retro Sketch #223, too! I know that Reason for the Season isn't that new for some folks - this was one of the lucky winners that got carried over from last Holiday Mini - but I never got it then, so it's new to me now! I totally confess I'm smitten by the 4-step stamping to color in this little beauty (yes, shh, I have a touch of Crushed Curry for the poinsettia center!) I paired this up with my two fave papers from our yummy This Christmas Specialty DSP (it's special because it's a slightly lighter weight DOUBLE pack!) Ahh, I can here the jingle bells now...
