I love our front-and-center sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #558! It'll be great with our fun new In Colors at Hand Stamped Sentiments #390, too! So, it's safe to say that I am SMITTEN with our new In Colors, lol. I just love them - so vibrant and playful! Combined with the new DSP pattern stacks (yay for dots!) and the awesome spread of embellishments and twines, and I am one happy stamper! I of COURSE had to play all five colors today - so thrilled that my week to pick colors fell so close to this release!! I couldn't resist that pretty blossom in the Color & Contour set - don't they just POP against that Starry Sky background?? Swoon!! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for both our challenges this week - I will meet you there! Color & Contour Stamp Set; Starry Sky DSP; Basic White & Orchid Oasis CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party, Starry Sky & Orchid Oasis Inks; Mango Melody Blend Marker (shh, flower centers); Scalloped Contours & Stitched Shapes (retired) Dies; Parakeet Party Matte Dots; #TSOT558; #HSS390.

Oo, what fun colors at this week's In{k}spire Me #478! I really do love any combination of purple and green, lol. And the first thing I thought of was my new Pure Magic stamp set - wouldn't that pretty dragon look great in two tones of green?? So that's what I set out to do. This dragon is pretty much what I got this set for - love the line-drawn look of him, a little more sophisticated than the kid one in Magical Day! And the other images are just as buttoned up - finally a mermaid in my collection! I did up my layers in the colors, water-painted the dragon in Pear Pizzazz and finished his details in a Mossy Meadow Blend Marker. I decided these Silver Epoxy Diamonds were just the right touch of shine! Fun day, lol... Pure Magic Stamp Set; Basic White, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, Mossy Meadow & Pear Pizzazz CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Pear Pizzazz Inks; Water Painter; Mossy Meadow Blend Marker; Lucky Stars EF; Silver Epoxy Shapes; #IMC478. We're trying some new angles this week at Sunday Stamps #284! Well, a sketch like this definitely calls for some pretty DSP to show off and contrast - enter the Sun Prints DSP, which I finally broke in to! This is the stunning paper that goes with the Nature's Prints stamp set, and they are a match made in Heaven, lol. I snuck in a couple small stamps from the set, and the Fern embossing Folder (woot!) but otherwise, I let that DSP do all the hard work! So pretty! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our fun sketch - meet you there! Nature's Prints Stamp Set; Sun Prints DSP; Basic White CS; Night of Navy Ink; Blender Pen; Natural Prints & Stitched Shapes (retired) Dies; Fern EF; Classic Matte Dots; #SSC284. Well, here's a funny line for a word prompt at this week's Time Out Challenge #214 - fun! I knew right away I wanted to try for a night sky - and my best set for that is a Christmas one, lol. I built my scene with Hearts Come Home, which retired in 2019 - I love these dies! I also love to layer them, but today I kept things fairly simple with just one layer, but I couldn't resist getting Santa in there, and some stars - I can just feel the cold air! I finished off with some snowflake sequins, pretty! Hearts Come Home Stamp Set (retired 2019); Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Versamark & Night of Navy Inks; White EP; Hometown Greetings Dies (retired); Adhesive Backed Snowflakes; #TOC214. We have a very cool theme from Cardz 4 Guyz #296 this week - "wildlife!" Luckily, we have JUST the set for that - Wildlife Wonder! I did a cute bear card before with this one - time to try another animal - how about that regal wolf? I did him in Basic Gray on Smoky Slate, then did a little bit of Blender Pen action on him to smudge him up a bit - love what it does to the shading on these stamps! I did some greenery below him, too, and some weedy flowers at his elbow - still manly, I think! I decided to go for a thank you, and slipped in some retired Slate ribbon I still had, too - still handsome, all 'round! Wildlife Wonder Stamp Set; Basic White, Smoky Slate & Basic Black CS; Basic Gray & Pear Pizzazz Inks; Blender Pen; Mango Melody Blends Marker; Ornate Frames Dies (retired); Smoky Slate Stitched Ribbon; Matte Black Dots; #C4G296. A very fun theme this week at Cupcake Inspirations #544 - stripes! I knew right away I'd dig into our new Design a Daydream DSP pack - another GIANT hostess pack to play with! I love that there are 4 sheets of everything in this - makes it perfect for my classes! Anyway, I was immediately drawn to this playful tilty stripes pattern - love all the different colors! I decided to pull in Hey Chick, too - it is SHOCKING to me how rarely I have used it, given my love of all things chicken, lol. Especially when the dies are so awesome - check out the tree stump and the sign - only in the dies, woot! Anyway, I had some fun coloring in her bob in some of the stripe colors - this chick can move in here anytime! Hey Chick Stamp Set; Design a Daydream DSP; Basic White, Pool Party & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Mango Melody, Old Olive, Pool Party & Blackberry Bliss Blends Markers; Chick Dies; Pebbles Enamel Shapes; #CIC544. So glad to see this week's code word at Addicted to CAS #220 - "flower!" I know I've been off flowers for the last couple of years, but this year's annual catty is slowly drawing me back, lol. This one, Sending Smiles, is what started it all! For whatever reason, these multi-step stamping blooms have stolen my heart! And I love the dies that go with them - I could build some really fancy displays with them, or keep it to a simple stem, like I did today. I'm all about choices, obviously, lol. Sending Smiles Stamp Set; Basic White & Calypso Coral CS; Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral & Mango Melody Inks; Sending & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Iridescent Sequins; #ATC220. Pumpkin Club May 28! I love our clever banded sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #557! This is just the starting point I need for our Retro Rubber #183 "anything goes" challenge, and I KNOW I can pull in a kid theme for SU Only #302, as well! Checking my retired "kids" section, I quickly glommed onto Yee-Haw, one of our earliest photopolymer sets, all the way from 2004! I still love this one! It was in fact my very first cactus set, too, but really, this cutie won me over for ALL its charming western elements - gotta have THAT in AZ! Anyway, I stuck pretty tight to the sketch, and tried to fit in some fun shapes for the details - good times, lol. I can't wait to see YOUR projects for all of these - the sky's the limit! Yee-Haw Stamp Set (retired 2004); Basic White, Early Espresso, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake & Real Red CS; Basic Gray, Real Red & Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Mango Melody & SU100 Blends Markers; Rustic Metallic Dots; #TSOT557; #SUOC302; #RRCB183. Must be, because Fusion has an "at the movies" challenge for us this week! I double-checked to be sure, but it's official, I have NO movie sets in my collection. Oh wait, oops, I moved Ready to Pop down to the "food" section on the shelves of retirement, lol. Too late! I decided to go with the sketch and the colors - red and black and white is SO classy! I pulled out some scraps of our just-retired Pattern Party DSP, and did some spot coloring with a Real Red Blend Marker. I arranged everything how I wanted per the sketch, and finished with this "awesome" sentiment from Happy & Heartfelt - so cute! One tiny red dot closes us out - I'm in love! Happy & Heartfelt Stamp Set; Pattern Party DSP (retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red Blend Markers; Glossy Red Dot (pretty sure this is leftover from a Christmas Paper Pumpkin. And It might be Cherry Cobbler really, now that I look closely, lol); #FusionAtTheMovies. Pumpkin Club May 28! Did you check out your April Pumpkin kit yet? Hm, Shopping Our Stash #470 is having a "power of pastels" challenge - this should be interesting! I started with the DSP on this one - I don't usually have much in the way of pastels, but, I do still have some likely scraps from our Heart & Home pack that I think fit the bill! I even pulled out Honeybee Home to stamp along with it - love this pretty stem! I heat embossed the sentiment onto some matching Fresh Freesia CS, and cut it out with the new Deckled Rectangles dies, which is when I realized I could cut ALL the layers with the dies, lol. Sometimes I just work backwards, lol... Honeybee Home Stamp Set; Heart & Home DSP; Basic White, Fresh Freesia & Soft Sea Foam CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; White EP; Fresh Freesia & Soft Sea Foam Blends Markers; Honeybee Blooms & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Honeybee Trinket; #SOS470.
