 We're feeling "geometric" at The Male Room #215 this round - let's see YOUR angle! Flipping through my bin of current stamp sets, I came across my Playful Packaging bundle - check out that cool hatchwork square! I'm sold, lol. I decided to go fairly colorful, and stamped it four times in my chosen colors on little cardstock squares to match - so cute, lol. I totally pulled out Thanks Man again for my sentiment, too! I quickly went with a Basic Beige background for all those brights, then at the last second I decided to emboss with the Forever Plaid EF for a little extra geometry, lol. After settling on my layout, I stacked my sentiments to the left, and threw on a few Azure Afternoon Dots to match! I can't wait to see YOUR geometric projects, too - meet you at the challenge!  I hope you all like my botanical sketch this round at Sunday Stamps #395! I went digging for a big vine or something similar to dress up for this one, and came across our Lily of the Valley bundle - oh, yes! I think this will work! I assembled and colored my pieces, then tucked and shuffled to come up with this arrangement. I was so tickled that I wove in my horizontal bar - it looked very cool, but then I covered it up with the sentiment - doh! But still cute, lol. I had somehow not noticed this smaller stem also in the set, so I prepped one of those to keep the sentiment company, too! I can't wait to see YOUR creations with my fun sketch - meet you at the challenge! This looks simple enough! Seize the Birthday #334 wants us to add a "sentiment strip!" Gotta find a good one, lol... Ah ha! I knew I could hear some singing, lol. Time for the Birthday Song stamp set to come out again, and I had some great fun coloring and fussy cutting these showboating flamingos! I went with three different pinks this time, and figured this sheet of pink and yellow washes was PERFECT for their background, too! I stamped the "Hey! Hey! Hey!" directly on the DSP, right overhead, so you can tell that they're really belting it out, and then highlighted the key sentiment on a popped up strip - I still laugh every time I see it! I finished with the basic birthday greeting at the very bottom, also direct to the DSP. I wanted just a little bling, so I rooted out some Melon Mambo Sunny Day Iridescent Dots for it. I'm not usually so pink! I can't help but think of these colors at Inspire Create Challenge #224 as "back to school" inspired! Love them! I decided to go with shades of these colors closest to challenge graphic - so bold and bright! All of these together made me think of colorful pool toys, and fun times had there! Lucky for me, our Splash & Relax set perfectly fits this bill! I stamped and stamped off the floaty ring and two balls to cover the colors, then embossed my background with the now-retired Soft Waves EF - I so love the curves of this one, especially for water! This made it so I had to pop up the sentiment, though, so I did a quick little Tasteful Label die for this one, to make it a birthday card. These dies are still among my faves, lol. What perfect timing to sneak in this little stamp set I picked up from Kindred Stamps for hubby's birthday - The Big Lebowski is his favorite movie! This little image of The Dude himself in all his dudeness (White Russian in hand, of course) will make him laugh so much on his birthday coming up, lol. I combined The Dude with some great bowling pins and a bowling ball to perch on from our ancient Have a Ball stamp set - from way back in 1997, one of my oldest sets, and on wood. I keep it because it's such a great general sports set - no sentiments but every piece of equipment I've ever needed, lol. I inked up the pins in Basic Gray and then went over the stripe with an old Real Red Stamp-n-Write Marker - The Dude feels most comfie with a little grunge, I think! Oh gosh - AAA Cards #322 is called "disco inferno," lol. Do I have anything for that?? After a quick search of the Shelves of Retirement, which did yield SOME ideas, and a text to my friend Carolyn, who's stamp collection is even more eclectic than mine, lol, I did a quick search online to see what might pop! Wouldn't you just know it, Taylored Expressions has a little sentiment bundle called Groovy Greetings! Sold! It arrived in the nick of time, and I set my plan in motion! I started with a nice chunk of our old Rainbow Glimmer paper down one edge of my background, then I pulled Tote-ally Tess from 2010, and got to work blacking her out with a Blend Marker - I think she looks like she's dancing, and I exaggerated her bell bottoms just a tiny bit! I couldn't resist this "fine disco" sentiment - and I stamped the accompanying "happy birthday" inside - groovy, man! With the help of our retired Wanted To Say dies, I can totally do this! I started by choosing some bright and playful paper from my stash to help me with color choices - step right up, Full of Life DSP! I decided to set off the colors with black, and then chose the Shaded Spruce from the background for my sentiment color - I've never done this combo! I also couldn't resist pulling in some of my favorite stems from the also-retired Meadow Dies - they make for a perfect little back-of-scene detail, I think! I dug out a few Solid Faceted Gems in Melon Mambo to finish up - super quick, too! I went for a browse of my beachy sets, and of course pulled Friends Are Like Seashells from 2023 - I think this will ALWAYS be a favorite of mine! I knew I wanted to do a bunch of shells, and I also still love my old Waves of the Ocean DSP from 2022, lol. I have certainly been pulling it out from the bin for beach cards this year! Then I had a thought, what would happen if I used the Waffle Flower Postage Collage die on DSP?? Once I had the thought, I had to go for it, lol. I chose this lighter sheet so I could stamp the sentiment right onto it, and it is DREAMY! I stamped everything in Early Espresso, even the shells which I did on Basic Beige. I added some color to the shells with Blends Markers, laid everything out, and finished with my Antique Pearls. I have to say, I am pretty smitten with this one! I am super excited to go back for another dip in our Boardwalk Fun suite - even though it's retired now, the DSP is still current, and who doesn't love the boardwalk?? I went for this palm tree-forward background from the Beach Boardwalk DSP, and popped up a coaster that I stamped onto Pretty in Pink so it would blend in a bit. I tucked in a few Secret Sea palm trees behind it, and stamped my sentiment directly onto one of the ticket shapes from the DSP. At the last second, I added the coaster train in Petunia Pop that I found already cut in my die set, lol. Just right!
