This'll be neat - AAA Birthday #59's cue this month is "geometric!" Love it! Ever since I played with that old pack of Confetti Celebration DSP from 2014, there has been this triangles sheet on my mind - so bold! Of course, the only color I still have from this particular sheet is Basic Gray, lol. But it sprang right to mind when I saw this challenge! I decided Pumpkin Pie could be close enough, and did my remaining details in Gray - this is one of my rare no-stamping cards! Such a blast - I layered up the DSP, then cut a Stitched Triangle from Pumpkin Pie. I finally added it at an angle across the background pattern, then I set up the sentiment with my Wanted To Say dies - LOVE these things! The little cloud layer behind it lets me pop it up with the big triangle! I finished with a few Gray Faceted Gems, the perfect touch. I'm so happy with how this came out! Wanted to Say & Stitched Triangles Dies; Confetti Celebration DSP (retired); Basic White, Basic Gray & Pumpkin Pie CS; Faceted Gems; #AAAB59.

Woo, hope you're ready! We have some Speedy Spring Flowers for our challenge this round at As You See It #319! One of my favorite ways to keep the time down on our speed challenges is to let the DSP do the heavy lifting, so to speak, lol. So when I checked out my stamp shelves for a good flower set to use, I tried to focus on ones that I knew I had DSP for. When Pansy Patch caught my eye, I knew right away I wanted to do this one - I suspect this beauty will finally retire this year, sigh. Did I still have any DSP for it though? I sure did, and it had a bunch of already cut pansies and leaves in it, too - jackpot! I assembled my items, and started the clock! I didn't really have a layout plan, and I didn't pre-select my pansies from the pile in there - oops, plus a run to the punch tower for my sentiment - so I still ended up taking 6 minutes 44 seconds while I fiddled pieces around - whew! I even had time to do the envelope! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy flowers for us, too - meet you at the challenge! Pansy Patch Stamp Set; Pansy Petals DSP (retired); Basic White & Evening Evergreen (retired) CS; Evening Evergreen Ink (retired); Pansy Dies; Large Oval Punch; Evening Evergreen Opal Rounds (retired); #AYSI319. This is a good one - FarmQuest #47 this round is "things found in a field!" I'm totally gonna have to go with my super cute Cutest Cows bundle again for this one! Cows in a field is iconic! I created a lovely Lemon Lime Twist field for them first - I pulled in the fencing from Hey Chuck, and the grasses from the Sending Love dies - just right! Next up came two cows, a boy and a girl, lol, in true dairy cow style, lol. I finished up with a few of our Adhesive-Backed Flowers that go with the bee suite! The "special day" sentiment is on the inside. Such cuties! Cutest Cows & Hey Chuck Stamp Sets; Lemon Lime Twist DSP; Basic White, Granny Apple Green & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Basic Black, Smoky Slate & SU1000 Blends Markers; Hey Chuck & Sending Love Dies; Cutest Cows Builder Punch; Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers; #FQCB47. Such a fun challenge - The Sisterhood of Crafters would like us to use dots or stripes this round! Since our new Annual Catalog is fast approaching, I went to my outgoing In Colors to look for stripes, lol. I'll be so sad to see this set go! I chose the pretty Orchid Oasis sheet to go over Starry Sky, and added some other Starry Sky details - I LOVE this big guitar pick! I heat-embossed my sentiment onto that, and did up a hot Starry Sky guitar to go with it, with a few White stars for accents - very cool! Rock Star Stamp Set; Orchid Oasis DSP; Basic White & Starry Sky CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; White EP; Starry Sky Blend Marker; Rock Star Dies; #TSOCStripes. Thank You Cards 2024 Class March 9! Time for a little appreciation! Another fun one - AAA #259 is anything goes, with an optional birthday twist! Sweet! A set I haven't used in a while (and yes, I might need Mexican for dinner tonight, lol) is Taco Fiesta! I just love this birthday sentiment, so I tried to make a CAS card around it! A simple row of some guac elements, the perfect sentiment below, with just a squeeze a lime - yum! These are so fun to color with my blends! Taco Fiesta Stamp Set; Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Smoky Slate, Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Pecan Pie & Real Red Blends Markers; Old Olive Matte Dots; #AAA259. Now this is a fun one! Shopping Our Stash #515 would like us to "put our best face forward" and add a human face to our card! Tricky! So, except for Santa, turns out I don't have many faces here, lol - I'm more of a critter gal! BUT, I remembered, I have a newly acquired Sassy Suzie, from 2009, that I have never inked up! Perfect! As I reviewed the sentiments for this cutie, I realized WHY she's called Sassy Suzie, lol. She'll say anything! Since she's sitting at this little cafe table, I gave her a cafe front background from the Les Shoppes DSP pack, and had some fun coloring her in. At the last second, I put one of her zingers inside, too - I'll have to choose the recipient carefully, lol. Sassy Suzie Stamp Set (retired 2009); Les Shoppes DSP; Basic White & Misty Moonlight CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Night of Navy, SU400, SU100, Cherry Cobbler, Gray Granite, Moody Mauve, Boho Blue & Pebbled Path Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems; #SOS515. Wow! Time Out Challenges #257 is celebrating a BIG birthday! 10 years! So we get to celebrate too, by making birthday cards for this challenge! This card turned out to be a REAL time out for me today, lol. I got to thinking, what was I stamping 10 years ago? What's on the shelves of retirement from 2014?? Turns out most of my 2014 stamps are Christmas ones, lol, BUT my beloved Skinny Mini Alphabet set was released that year! This really took me back to my alphabet addiction days, lol, I think I still have like 10 different ones, not even counting dies! I finally pulled a catty, too - what else was going on that year? Turns out I even happen to have this pack of Confetti Celebration DSP from then, too, and since I hung on to my Bermuda Bay, I can even coordinate! And so this card was born, lol - what fun it's been! What a Time Out! Skinny Mini Alphabet Stamp Set (retired 2014); Confetti Celebration DSP (retired); Basic White & Bermuda Bay (retired) CS; Bermuda Bay Ink (retired); Bermuda Bay Buttons (retired!); White Baker's Twine; Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels; #TOC257. AAA Birthday #58 would like us to incorporate hearts in our birthday cards this month - a double whammy! Turns out the upcoming A Little Latte DSP has just the stuff I need today, though I jumped to the Something Fancy bundle for my sentiment! Love this little "belated" thought, and when better than over a couple good cuppas, lol. This fun background sheet had lots of little hearts, and I found these two cups with different barista hearts, too! Perfect! I finished with a few Swirl Dots, too. STILL smitten with this suite, obviously, lol! Something Fancy Stamp Set; A Little Latte DSP; Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Something Fancy & Latte Love Dies; Adhesive-Backed Swirl Dots; #AAAB58. So excited to play something "never-before-used" again at NBUS #59 - as usual, I have CHOICES, lol. This round, I managed to fit in TWO new sets - yay me! I'm finally inking up Doggone Friendly - such a fun new background stamp! There's so many ways I can envision using this one, but I went for the basic background today, and picked out a few color spots in Moody Mauve! Next up, is another new preview set from the upcoming release of the next round of Online Exclusives - Sweetly Scripted! This set features 6 scripty sentiments, all long and flowing, and they'll be great for layers! I vaguely remember something similar from years ago, hm, Wonderful Words from 2004? This might actually still be on my shelves, lol. Anyway, the Scripted fonts are tighter and narrower, and definitely more playful! Doggone Friendly & Sweetly Scripted Stamp Sets; Basic White & Moody Mauve CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; White EP; Moody Mauve Blends Markers; Moody Mauve Glossy Dots; #NBUS59. Now this is hilarious, and dare I say, a little ironic, ahem, lol. Cardz 4 Guyz #339's theme this round is "no balls sport!" Tricky, lol! I did a quick review of my current stamp first, and just like that I spotted Hey Chuck, who has a little skateboard! Perfect! I love this shrieking guy, he always reminds me of Chicken Joe from Surf's Up, lol, and I think he's the greatest fit with the skateboard! I floated him over this dotty panel of Daffodil Delight - chickens always make me think yellow and red, for some reason, lol. I tucked his sun behind him, and floated this chopped up sentiment down one side - somehow it just fits, lol. What fun! Hey Chuck Stamp Set; Daffodil Delight DSP; Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate & Color Lifter Blends; Hey Chuck Dies; Cherry Cobbler Matte Decorative Dots; #C4G339.
