Oo, I love the angles in this fun sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments #479! When I started browsing for long skinny shapes to use for this sketch, I spotted my beloved Long Time No See llama, but Christy beat me to it!! After a minute I thought, hey, you should turn the sketch, and do the wiener dog instead - so I did, lol. I need more practice at turning sketches anyway! I wanted to use bright happy colors, and I chose Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie, with the pooch himself in both shades of Crumb Cake. What a blast to color! I went digging through my scrap folders for some bits of the DSPs, and I finished with a few Lemon Lime Twist Shiny Sequins. I also popped the birthday sentiment on the inside - I love this guy, lol. Long Time No See Stamp Set; Scrap Pumpkin Pie & Lemon Lime Twist DSP (retired); Basic White & Daffodil Delight CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Lemon Lime Twist & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Shiny Sequins; #HSS479.

I just can't tell you how thrilled I am that we are back up and running with Retro Rubber #263!! What a slog! Appropriately, our kick-off challenge is "anything goes," and as I was browsing, I spotted 2004's Yee Haw, which sums up my excitement pretty well, lol. Of course, my favorite sentiment in this set is "rootin' tootin'" lol, so I set that up in the lasso shape, and added "birthday" to it. I also did a little cowboy hat for it, too, and floated it all over my favorite saguaro DSP from 2021's Flowering Cactus collection! Such good times! I can't wait to see you all again at the challenge - and don't forget to make it Retro! Yee Haw Stamp Set (retired 2001); Flowering Cactus DSP (retired); Basic White & Mint Macaron (retired) CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Early Espresso Inks; Pecan Pie & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Streaked Dots; #RRCB263. We have a roly-poly little sketch for you today at Sunday Stamps #377! These little shapes seemed like the perfect chance to break in my new Gears & Textures bundle! As soon as I saw it in the Spring Mini Catty, I knew I wanted it for guy cards - so many pieces and patterns to play with! I started with a Country Woods DSP background, and went a little nuts stamping and stamping off with a few pattern and gears. Then I added the darker wood along the bottom, and added a Copper Foil chain link along the seam. Next up two sizes of gears in Brass and Galvanized Metal, and then a simple Birthday sentiment up top. Our old Industrial Trinkets seemed like a good finishing touch! I can't wait to see YOUR ideas for this fun sketch - meet you at the challenge! Gears & Textures Stamp Set & Dies, and Simply Said Stamp Set; Country Woods DSP; Basic White, Early Espresso, Galvanized Metal, Brass Foil & Copper Foil CS; Early Espresso, Crumb Cake & Gray Granite Inks; Industrial Trinkets (retired); #SSC377. What a fun new day to celebrate! Festive Friday #200 is celebrating National Tulip Day this round! I really do love tulips - parrot tulips are my favorite flower! So I knew I wanted to stamp actual tulips, lol, and I still have my beloved Tranquil Tulips set from 2018 - my all-time favorite tulip set! It has no sentiments, so I pulled in the trusty Simply Said Set as well - perhaps my most-used stamp set ever, and that's saying something! Since I'm such a fan of parrot tulips, I attempted some interesting coloring on mine: I did the base in Daffodil Delight, and the second step in Pumpkin Pie, which I also daubed with Poppy Parade on the edge. I don't think it looks very much like parrot tulips, but it does convey the translucent look of tulips in the sun! Yay! I finished with a small Gingham Ribbon bow and some Tiny Bee Trinkets! I managed quite a few items from the list! Tranquil Tulips (retired 2018) & Simply Said Stamp Set; Basic White & Pumpkin Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade & Granny Apple Green Inks; Sponge Dauber; Deckled Rectangle Dies (retired); Black Gingham Ribbon; Tiny Bee Trinkets (retired); #FF0200. Birthday Cards Class 2026, January 10 at 2 pm! I'm always thrilled to kick off our new year with birthday cards! Gotta re-stock! I'm super excited to feature new sets and suites from our Spring Mini Catty and Online Exclusives, too! So fun! Class will feature 6 cards with envelopes, all supplies provided and prepped - just bring your own scissors and favorite adhesive, all for $25! Class can also be free with your catalog or online purchase of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, January 10 at 2 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! Now this is a cool idea! Shopping Our Stash #564 is called "free is good!" We're supposed to use something we got for FREE on our card! So this ended up being a fun little adventure, lol. I pulled out my little bin of "other companies," lol, and started poking around. I found a little sleeve full of several various card bases with envelopes that I think has been in there for YEARS - no clue where it came from - I think it was thrown in with some rogue papers I bought eons ago, lol. Next, I found Whittle Shark, a Poppy die that was added for free to an order I placed there once, it's been in there a couple years at least! I also found a little package of mixed sequins from Lawn Fawn - I think those were tucked in my Sweet Christmas Mice order! But the yellow ones looked like the same color as the free envelope, so I ended up with this: a pair of marauding sharks for some lucky soul's birthday, lol. I think this is the most "stash" card I've ever made! Whale Done Stamp Set (retired 2023); Let's Go Fishing DSP (retired); Mystery Card Base & Envelope; Misty Moonlight & Smoky Slate CS; Misty Moonlight Ink; Smoky Slate Blend Marker; Poppy Whittle Shark Die; Lawn Fawn Sequins; #SOS564. Birthday Cards Class 2026, January 10 at 2 pm! I'm always thrilled to kick off our new year with birthday cards! Gotta re-stock! SU Only #391 is finishing out the year with my favorite challenge - designer's choice! I couldn't pass up the chance to try out another preview bundle for this one - here's a little sneaky peek at Boardwalk Fun! This suite also includes some gorgeous DSP, and of course, the dies for the stamp set - like this awesome ferris wheel I did in silhouette! There's some embellies that I let pass, as well. One of the dies was for this cute ticket shape, so I used it for my sentiment, and finished with some Shiny Sequins that I thought went well with this pretty sky background! I see plenty of fun days ahead with this one! Boardwalk Fun Stamp Set & Dies; Beach Boardwalk DSP; Basic White, Basic Black & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Shiny Sequins; #SUOC391. Oo, I'm excited to play at Shopping Our Stash #562 "forever young," I don't do many kid cards! One of my FAVORITE kid sets, that I actually don't get to use too often, is 2022's Brave Vikings! I think this was originally a Valentine's set, but it has some other sentiments in it, too, so I went with this cute birthday phrase! I love the dragon ship and this stout Viking so much, I decided to do a stacked layout, with this sentiment in between - I love how it came out! I had a blast coloring all my images with my Blends, then getting in some fussy cutting. They looked great over my old Painted Textures EF, and I finished with some Bronze Metallic Dots! Brave Vikings Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; SU1000, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Cherry Cobbler & Azure Afternoon Blends Markers; Painted Texture EF (retired); Bronze Metallic Dots; #SOS562. Christmas Roundup Class Dec 20, 2 pm After all the time off I've taken, I hope you can make it for my last gathering of the year - a little Christmas Roundup! This free "appreciation" class will clean out a last few holiday items I have lingering, and will be a chance for us to gather and share some holiday cheer! I'll also have your Spring Mini Catties for us to oh and ah over! Want to bring some cookies to share? That'd be awesome, and I'll have my own snacks and drinks on hand as well! Christmas Roundup is set for Saturday, December 20 at 2 pm - RSVP to let me know you're coming! So I have finally managed to slip in at Seize the Birthday #317, to use Christmas supplies, and it's their last challenge of the year! Better late than never! I knew that the perfect set for this one would be a gorgeous Branching Out bundle - it's wintry, but it also has the prettiest birthday sentiment in it! I brightened it up a bit with lighter colors than I usually use: Pecan Pie instead of Early Espresso, Granny Apple Green instead of Shaded Spruce - and look how cheery and fresh it looks! Yes! I couldn't resist doing it all on the ticket punch layers, or a few sparkly green sequins, too, lol. I love it! Branching Out Stamp Set & Dies; Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green & Cherry Cobbler Inks; Granny Apple Green Glitter Sequins; #STB317. Oo, another chance at the 1 + 1 challenge style at AAA Cards #303 - yeah! After a quick browse, I went with Turtle-y Awesome for this one, because the turtles have cake AND balloons! But they also have party hats, which totally makes it a party, so my plus one is "party!" These guys are so fun to color, and I made sure to use some real contrasting greens for extra pop, as well as an extra dimensional behind his balloon hand, for just that bit more dimension, lol. So easy since the die cuts that arm anyway! Very fun, and even with the coloring, very quick! Turtle-y Awesome Stamp Set & Dies; Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Shaded Spruce, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist & Flirty Flamingo Blends Markers; Turtle Textures EF (on envelope); #AAA303. So excited it's time for another challenge at NBUS#80 - I have a little "new" pile going here on my desk! So, I wasn't even going to GET our new Cake Day bundle, and then I saw the little macaron and meringue kisses dies! I had to have that for sure after all, lol. And, coming fresh off finishing the latest season of British Bake-Off, I had to make a nice chocolate and pistachio slice for Jasmine, the winner! This is a die-heavy bundle, and I can tell it'll take me a bit to tame all the pieces, but I'm always up for a food challenge, lol. I floated my brightly frosted (and dripped!) cake over a piece of our Full of Life DSP - yay for color! Cake Day Stamp Set & Dies; Full of Life DSP; Basic White, Gold Foil, Early Espresso, Pecan Pie & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Early Espresso & Lemon Lime Twist Inks; Gold Sequins; #NBUS80. |
