 Love it! Shopping Our Stash #497 is called "You're So Sweet!" and they want us to feature something sweet on our cards! Since we've already broken 100 degrees here in AZ (sigh) when I think of something sweet, I tend to lean towards ice cream, lol. And my favorite popsicle stamp is STILL from the April 2021 Paper Pumpkin, So Cool! And my favorite place to stamp it is also STILL on the Ice Cream Corner DSP - LOVE those color washes! I did 3 of them today, in yummy colors, and floated everything over the pretty popsicle sheet, too. I used the Pumpkin sentiment as well, but I couldn't resist adding the little "hope it's sweet" line from the actual stamp set that goes with this paper, lol, Sweet Ice Cream.  We're giving a last hurrah to a couple of our departed colors this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #415! Who's with us?? Since I got a very special delivery today of a pre-pre-preview set for our demo-only Creativity Now event coming in June, I couldn't resist inking that baby up! I'm not usually a big florals person, but the "translucent" possibilities of this set just intrigue me! I started by doing a stamped all-over background layer to check out the images - wowza! After I was done, I decided to try embossing it also - a cool trick I've been seeing a lot lately! I have to say, I'm really happy with the results! I popped up my sweet sentiment, tucked in a little stem and finished with some Petal Pink ribbon and sequins. So pretty! I thought through the colors, and realized that Lemon Lolly is pale enough to go for my card base, so I was off to the races after that, lol. I pulled in my Stylish Shapes dies for some details, and stamped the map in Lemon Lolly behind the bike, and my sentiment onto this Granny Apple Green Banner. A few touches of Tahitian Tide Blend Marker and I think I pulled it off!   So excited - it' my turn to host the sketch at Sunday Stamps #310 this week! I decided to try a little stretch (for me, lol) and go for a square layout! The timing for this one is perfect - I have a dear friend who has a pen pal (remember those?) who is turning 96! Wow! She asked if I could make a special card for a special lady, and she had lots of details she wanted included. Purples, roses, textures, pearls, those are all by request, and they gave me a chance to finally try out the gorgeous Happiness Abounds set. I'm REALLY late coming to this one - I was letting it pass me by, when I realized, I somehow have no rose sets! Not sure how that happened, but this is a beautiful choice for that! There's also a very personalized inside panel, that really speaks to their loving correspondence. Such a privilege to create! I also went a little inter-stellar with this one: the intriguing Stargazing suite was still waiting on my desk to be tried out! Time to dabble! I found this spacey Milky Way sheet in the DSP to serve as my diagonal, and added different colored planets also from the DSP instead of "windows," lol. I'm pretty stoked with my final results - a little stellar sentiment goes in the middle, and I even had some Adhesive-Backed Stars left over from the holiday catty! Not too shabby! So happy the Library has re-opened! I kept my background white for the CAS brief, popped up my birthday sentiment, and finished with a few Melon Mambo dots - I think CAS is starting to grow on me. Just a tiny bit. Lol. I still had these asterisks left over from when I tried the first alphabet, so I kept them for decoration! I added this super slim stamped sentiment at the bottom from Sweet Candy Canes just so there'd be something stamped! I combined three different trees using the Perfect Pines dies, and got my sentiment from my old Christmas Greetings set. I use these dies quite a bit, and as usual, I stacked up three layers to give the "merry" even more lift! I also got to try out our new Lemon Lolly for the stars - it's definitely brighter than So saffron was. I finished with some Fine Sparkle Gems - gotta have a little shine for Christmas trees!
