 So fun - Time Out Challenge #221 has a "festive" theme going this round! "Festive" makes me think Christmas, of course! I still have the fabulous Celebrate Everything DSP out on my desk from yesterday, along with my Tailor Made Tag dies, lol, let's just check the stack of new stamp sets to see if inspiration strikes! Spruced Up leapt right out, that set name seems to scream "festive!" I chose my favorite tree sheet of DSP, and started coloring, and then did a set of smaller tags for the two trees in the stamp set - they look a bit like homemade Christmas cookies, don't they? I finish with some bright crinkle ribbon to go with my tiny stars on the background - love it!  Tag, you're it this week at Retro Rubber #190! It's a perfect fit with our diecuts theme at SU Only #309, too! I knew I'd go with the awesome Tailor Made Tags to get myself started, and I chose this leafy sheet from my giant pack of Celebrate Everything DSP. This led me to my Vintage Leaves set - still a favorite in the leaf department. I finished it off with this thankful sentiment from Gather Together. Love the bright updates to these sets!  Oo, what a great theme this week at Cupcake Inspirations #551 - HOBBIES! I decided to throw in these lovely colors from In{k}spire Me #485 - so fresh! I couldn't resist going back to my old Crafting Forever set from 2020 - still such a favorite of mine, lol. Because of COURSE, crafting is my hobby to end all hobbies! One of the images I never used much (ever?) was this cute wooden clothespin wrapped in Baker's Twine - don't I wish my twine drawer looked as cute as these, lol. I colored them up in the pretty IMC colors, and finished with a few Pale Papaya Opal Rounds - my favorite embellishment of the year! Go crafters!  Aw, I think of my grandparents every day - I miss them so! Festive Friday #116 is perfect to reminisce! I knew I would pick a plaid sheet from our new DSP stacks - I went with the gorgeous Soft Sea Foam, Grandma would have loved this! I found a hugs phrase that was just right in Sending Smiles, so I went this all the way, and made a couple lavender stems to go with - Grandma always grew big stands of a few varieties of this - she had a stepped flower garden that I LOVED to climb through and explore - puttering in her garden together are some of my favorite memories! Finishing with pearls was teh perfect touch! I also loved this pelican on the shore pilings - really reminds me of those perched gulls in the pic. I smudged my black ink just the tiniest bit for a slight tinge of gray with my Blender Pen. Unfortunately, all that leaves no room for the sketch side, lol, so here we are! I did finish with a few Fresh Freesia Opal Rounds, love the glimmer on these! The coordinating DSP is so adorable, I couldn't resist a major feature today - check out this cheery scene! I added some Linen Thread for my baby tag, and a few spots of light with some Brushed Metallic Gold Dots, but really, this is all about the paper, lol. I like that this could girl OR boy, too! This should be a fun one - The Flower Challenge #71 would like us to use circles in our design! My favorite CURRENT flower set is still the gorgeous Art Gallery bundle. LOVE these multi-step blossoms, we can add so much shading and depth! I did two of the larger flowers today, and built them with three colors - a base of Fresh Freesia, a stamped-off layer of Rich Razzleberry, and a dark center of Blackberry Bliss. I SO love how these came out! I floated them over a couple Gold Hoop Embellishments I have saved, and tucked in a few leaves to finish things off. Yum!
