 Woo hoo! Time for another "anything goes" challenge over at Retro Rubber #144! Today, I finally settled on 2009's The More the Merrier. I almost always go for the cute snow-dudes in this one, or the fancy cupcakes, but these cute jack o' lanterns leapt out at me this time! Just started watching my seasonal round of Halloween shows yesterday on Food Network, and I kind of have pumpkin on the brain, now! I felt like fussy cutting, too, so I colored them all in, did the deed, and floated them all over a layer of Basic Black - they're jumping off the card! Such a fun Halloween warm-up, ahh, it's almost spooky time!  It's all about the banner this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #477! I can't wait to match it up with our bright colors at SU Only #259, too! I'm super psyched that our secondary theme at TSOT this week was coloring, because I had a BLAST water-painting my little ocean scene! Our lovely bright colors at SUO made me think of the ocean and tropics, and I just couldn't resist a little dream of a Maui escape, lol. Still on my mind, and this right here is one of my favorite activities - loafing hard, island style! Gettin' the toes wet, enjoying the view, with a frosty fruity drink beside me - ahhhhh!  Oo, very fun combo this week at In{k}spire Me #430! Check out those gorgeous colors! I decided to try and tackle both sides of the challenge today - these colors are just too sweet together, and the layout too fun! I started browsing for a likely focal shape, and landed on the beautiful pear in See the Good. I love using sponge daubers to add that extra edge of color to these images! Bonus point is that there's a long skinny sentiment in the set, too - score! It's not quite as skinny as i could have hoped, so I added a circle behind the pear to punch it up a bit, and didn't center the sentiment, so I could show off more of the pear, lol. I actually love the finished look! A few sequins and I am DONE! Ooo, LOVE that cake - I want it! I'm so tickled by the inspiration pic half of this week's Fusion Cactus Cake challenge - adorable! I decided to try for a color range like the sketch, but stick a cactus on there, too, from my beloved Flowering Desert set that retired last year. I don't fussy cut my build-your-own-cacti very often, but I'm always amazed by the look when I do! So simple, yet cute and unexpected, with the pinks and greens together! I couldn't resist adding just a few pink rhinestones, too, lol. I felt like the two "browns" were perfect for a couple critters hanging out together, lol. I set up my little scene in the corner in Black, then went back and stamped in all my two-steps stamped off, for a slightly more muted color look. At the last second, I found some ancient retired Mint Macaron Enamel Dots to add as well - perfect and sweet! I haven't had Seaside Notions out in a while so i decided to go for it - don't want to get out of practice on fussy cutting this little seahorse, lol. Anyway, I've kept it a little sparse, but stuck tight to my palette, even added a few Seaside Spray sequins. Love, and I'm ready for some sand between my toes!
