 The only color this week's Merry Monday #97 lacked to achieve my fave combo from this past year was a hint of red! I LOVE this color combo, lol! And I LOVE that they specified sparkle - bring on the bling!! I knew even going in that I wanted to use some Silver Foil sheets, textured somehow, with some pretty aqua color against it - the Mosaic Suite really fit the bill - all the little touches I wanted are right there! So fun to add a bit of silver emboss, and different size rhinestones - keeps the eye moving! I tried to take my picture at more of an angle today to show off the shine, something new for me...  I know I usually have an instruction sheet to post after a class, but this time we stayed pretty true to what came in our Burlap & Blooms kits, so I only have a little Burlap & Blooms Tip Sheet. I DID get to do some lovely tags as the class gift, based on this week's awesome Retro Sketch#103! Using a sketch for class gifts doesn't usually happen for me, so it was fun to be able to use it!  I kinda feel like I pulled out my whole bag of tricks for this week's Paper Craft Crew #82! Whew - I treated each little section like its own little canvas, lol... Time for a nap! (A happy one!) I have a very low-tech way that I do these rayed layouts, too - pick your center point, then just lay down triangles radiating from that point till all the space is filled. All I have left is to trim off the overage when I'm done - looks more like an octopus before I do that, lol... So for some reason, I was all about the sunny landscape here today - I think it's because I get to plan out my garden box layouts this week, and I'm having fun digging through my seed catalogs - going for the potato towers this year!  You know what we love over at My Pumpkin Challenge #214? Bringing the love pumpkin-style! For this week's final Love Pumpkin, I wanted to play with the card folded how it's shown in the kit - with the natural on the outside, and the color peeking through the cutouts. But hm, you know what a color junkie I am - I then proceeded to cover it all up, lol! I decided to play with all the hexagon shapes - it's so cool how you can fit them all together no matter what size - the angles are all the same! Fun! I snuck in just a tiny bit of twine from the Memo Medley kit, but otherwise - this is all Love Note! And the only stamping is on the envelope - that always wigs me out... I'll spend the rest of the morning thinking I've forgotten something, now! Paper Pumpkin-Love Note & Memo Medley; Summer Starfruit & Calypso Coral inks (on the envelope); Basic Jewel Rhinestones.

 What a great sketch for this week's Freshly Made Sketch #124! I love a sketch that makes it easy to highlight stamps, or DSP, or both! I really Had a hard time deciding on which direction I wanted to take this one, there are so many possibilities! I ended up getting a bit bogged down in the geometry, lol, and had to turn parts of the card sideways for a better look. I do like the simple contrasts of these colors, though! I'm still debating over my little flag strip - I don't want to cover up any part of that SAMJ work!  OK, I admit it - I'm not entirely sure I can really attribute today's card to this week's Clean & Simple #280, which really is the sketch I started from! It's just that when I saw the sketch, I thought - hm, looks like I could make that into teeth from a monster mouth, but... Hey, wait! I could make it an alligator because I have that one stamp set!  Hm, what a nifty layout over at Fab Friday #35 this week! I confess, I had to browse for a while to come up with elements I wanted to run with! Now, I DO finally have some of the pretty doilies, they came in my Love Notes Paper Pumpkin, but you know me - I had to update that element in my own way, lol... That was when I realized that my poor Sunflower hadn't been out for a while - it seems pretty perfect for how the weather's been here in AZ - even the pool is actually warming up earlier! Makes me a bit nervous for summer - it really isn't usually 90 here in February, yikees...  Another fun challenge at this week's Merry Monday #96 - Use Holly! Another tough one for our current stamps, but I couldn't resist going back to this retired sentiment - seemed perfect! I ended up making the holly sprigs using my old Stocking Accents die - I'm pretty sure that's retired, too, but I never let my dies go! When it came to the envelope, I finally realized that I could sponge my holly shapes with the leftover pieces from the die - I really like this stenciled look!  Love's still brewing over at My Pumpkin Challenge #214! I decided this week to see what I could combine with some of my Sale-A-Bration goodies - match made in Stampin' Heaven! It's so fun to play with all the little leftover pieces I've been accumulating from my Pumpkin kits - so many colors and pieces coordinate with each other, it's pretty amazing! I've decided that what I thought was a weird orange color on that twine from the Memo Medley kit might actually be Calypso Coral - my whole attitude towards that string has now changed, lol!  Oo, In{k}spire Me #134 is all about the precious metals this week! I don't do too much with the metallics that often, but that's what makes it a challenge, right? I leaned on Retro Sketches #102 for some layout help, too... So, while I didn't get the cool new Fancy Foil Vellum yet, I did spring for the Gold Sequin Trim - here's my big chance to trot that out! I had to fiddle a bit to decide what the best way to adhere it would be for my card idea - Sticky Strip is SO my friend! In the end, I like how it came out - I was all afternoon on this one!
