 Oo, such cool colors! AAA Cards #283 has come up with some sweet colors for us to try this round! After studying our choices for a bit, I pulled Mossy Meadow, Misty Moonlight and Soft Sea Foam to work with - I like to have the colors in my hand when I start looking over stamps, lol. I quickly identified that our gorgeous Wild Ferns might be a good one for it, could I blend some stems together? Turns out it was pretty perfect, since there's also that little texture stamp, too! I did a pretty column in that in Misty Moonlight, then added some fiddleheads in Mossy Meadow. It was just right to add to broad ferns in Soft Sea Foam, and then I covered the joint with my sentiment. These soft green pearls from the Festive Pearls pack were also made for this combo!  Yum - check out our cool winter colors at this round of Retro Rubber #247! Somehow I got it into my head that I wanted to try one of old "landscape" sets on this one - I could see rolling hills and gorgeous evening skies - so I went with our retired Hills of Tuscany! This one has so many easy elements to piece together - I can't get enough of those bold cypress trees! I quickly diecut some Deckled Rectangle layers, then started scene-building on my White one - it came together just how I imagined! I Finished with a few Blackberry Bliss Transparent Dots, too! And I love all the colors we have, and how smooth the ink goes on, and how easy it is to play with shading, and lifting, and - the list goes on, lol. And that's not even ouching on fun techniques with alcohol inks with them! Eee! Heck, I even still have some of our old Blendabilities, too - if it ain't dried out, I'll still use it, lol. I knew right away I wanted to focus on our glorious Changing Leaves bundle for this one! After embossing my white-on-white background, I stamped a large leafy stem in Moody Mauve, then surrounded it in detailed die-cuts in Blackberry Bliss and Wild Wheat - such a warm and yummy combo! After some experimentation, I was able to super-fray a little knot of our Wild Wheat Textured Ribbon - I felt like the regular ribbon was a tad too heavy for the look. A few Wild Wheat Glossy Dots was the perfect finishing touch! I can't wait to see YOUR projects with our beautiful colors - meet you at the challenge! I knew right away that the stripes I wanted to show off today are from the upcoming Country Woods DSP pack - so many gorgeous woodgrains and distressed paints! Isn't this one fabulous? I did a cute flower bucket for this one, in coordinating colors, from an accompanying stamp bundle, Country Flowers. This was my "Stampin' After Hours" bundle choice at On Stage in Houston, and I was thrilled the DSP was on the pre-order, too! Anyway, I added in this gorgeous sympathy sentiment - I so love mixed font sentiments! So happy with how this came out! Lovely - Festive Friday #146 has a wonderful inspo list for us for Remembrance/Veteran's Day! I decided to go for a sympathy card in the end - mostly so I could use a current set, lol, and I love the sympathy sentiment in Heartfelt Hexagon so much! Just so pretty, and I like being able to add the elegant finials as well. I originally pulled my retired pack of Peaceful Poppies DSP, too, so I decided to stick with that - such gorgeous poppy sheets! I did a full card front and floated my dressed up hexagon over that with some Black grosgrain ribbon and Matte Black Dots. Easy design, with a nice splash of color! From the list, I think I covered red, black, punches, poppy and sympathy - pretty good! I wanted to play with the set a tiny bit ahead of time, and this is where I landed. This gorgeous Copper Clay sheet is from the O Holy Night pack - I love the pattern sides almost as much as the scenery sides! I added some simple Misty Moonlight cotton ribbon, and a few first run Misty dots - I couldn't believe my eyes when I found these in a drawer, lol. It was pretty hard to not go in a floral direction with these, especially with those daisies in the inspiration pic! I couldn't help but pull out one of my favorite flower sets still, Color & Contour! I love the layering scallop edge dies, and that there's also a few dies for the flowers, too! This stem is so easy and organic, and the two-step flower colors are super unfussy! I always add a bit of green to the leaves with markers, and this time I added some green spatter in the background. I decided to play with simple stamps, ink and paper today, and even went for Very Vanilla for my neutral! I hit on the idea of putting together some beautiful stems from our Meadow Dies, and then just adding a "wow" sentiment - when I remembered this sympathy in our Something Fancy bundle, I knew I was set, lol. Very little layering here, except for the stem overlap, and all the calm and sober colors for the occasion. Love it, and happy to have on hand for the moment. I can't wait to see what YOU do with our rich colors this round - meet you at the challenge!
