Hi Everyone! I've decided to take a bit of a break this weekend while my family and I celebrate Easter - I'll be back in a day or two! I'll leave you with the other three cards we made in our Easter class - was it only last week? If you were there, you already saw them, but if you weren't - enjoy! Have a lovely holiday!

Easter is SUCH a celebratory time for me these days - and something about it really makes me spend MUCH time reflecting on the many blessings in my life, and of this world. So it's no surprise to me that this quote from Ecclesiastes 3 caught my attention today, when putting together a card for Freshly Made Sketches #79. What a good reminder for me! Gently Falling & Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 1 stamp sets; Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake & Raspberry Ripple CS; Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade & Raspberry Ripple inks; Orchard Harvest DSP; Essentials piercing mat; Finishing Touches Edgelits; Linen Thread; self-adhesive Rhinestones. So, I'm a day late and a dollar short on this week's Paper Craft Crew #35 - LAST week was supposed to be a Spring or Easter theme! Oh well, I made it now, and there's still time! What a fun layout this was - I love laying different shapes together in layers like this - woo! I cheated a tiny bit and tried the creative color combo on my Color Coach, too... Never would have tried this on my own, I don't think! Everybunny stamp set; Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive and Pretty in Pink CS; Orchard Harvest DSP; Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder; 1 1/4" Scallop punch; Little Leaves sizzlet; Glimmer brads. Uh oh, I'm stuck on another green and purple kick! I just love them together SO MUCH! Thank you to Retro Sketches #56 for letting me indulge! With Easter so close now, I've been reflecting a lot on the many blessings in my life, many of which are really people - how else? Oh my friends, you make me rich in so many ways. God's peace to you all. Blessings From Heaven & Betsy's Blossoms stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Whisper White & Rich Razzleberry CS; Floral District DSP; Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry & Daffodil Delight inks; self-adhesive Rhinestones. Here's another card for the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig Hall of Fame! Whew! This week's Sunday Stamps Challenge #41 was a doozy - I had to really listen closely for a stamp set to call out to me. After all that background building, I find now that I'm most reminded of my old Holly Hobby doll's apron, lol. Still, I was really happy with how these colors played together - what a surprise! Oh, Hello stamp set; Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry & Calypso Coral CS; Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron & Calypso Coral inks; Ovals Collection framelits; Occasions piercing template; Scallop Trim Border punch; Calypso Coral 1/8" Organdy (retired); self-adhesive Rhinestones. So, I've had the new photopolymer stamps for a week or two now, and still haven't had a chance to use them. The possibilities seem pretty endless - you can BEND the stamps, mount multiples - it's crazy! I decided Clean & Simple #233 was my chance - and what I really wanted to do was play with the alphabet. So, that's how this card was born! The stamps are VERY easy to use, and stick to the blocks perfectly - even better than the clear-mount stamps. I definitely see this set in one of our future classes! Designer Typeset & Pennant Parade stamp sets; Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake, Pool Party & Island Indigo CS; Chevron & Square Lattice embossing folders; Round Tab (retired) punch; Sycamore Street ribbon & button; Jumbo self-adhesive Rhinestone. I decided to tackle this week's Freshly Made Sketch #78 using all the cute bits and pieces that came in my very first Paper Pumpkin kit - the "Hey There Try It" kit. Of course, I had to add some extras - I know these kits are made to be a kind of intro to Stampin' Up!, and they really are put together with the customary finesse that SU! always uses, but hey (friend!) what's a bit more? I added some extra colors, a bit of ribbon, a bit of bling, doctored some of the cool adhesive elements that came with the kit, and hey-presto, here we are, and using colors that are definitely outside my usual pallet. Cool! Hey There Paper Pumpkin Kit (stamp, DSP, card base, button & stickers) plus Tempting Turquoise & Tangerine Tango CS; Scallop Border & 7/8" Circle punches; Floral Frames framelits; Old Olive ink; Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain; self-adhesive Rhinestones. This week's Sunday Sketch #40 is classic - clean and beautiful. So what do I do? Get all dressy on it! Clearly, restocking the scripture box is still on my mind - but I do love this psalm. What a reassurance! And yes, I did put the little rhinestones all the way across, and then covered up a bunch of them with the sentiment. Sigh. Lesson learned, but this card has "buried treasure" for sure! Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 2; Whisper White, Island Indigi & Summer Starfruit CS; Sycamore Street DSP; Adorning Accents edgelit & embossing folder; 1/4" Tangerine Tango satin ribbon; self-adhesive rhinestones. Here's a quick picture of our little treats from class tonight - just big enough for a little bite of chocolate! And here are tonight's class instructions - enjoy! Finally! I got to use the little pair of jeans! Yay! I think this sentiment's font style goes perfectly with them as well - sort of Western, maybe... Not very lacy/doily like the sketch - but that's what sketch challenges are all about, right? Thank you Paper Craft Crew #34! Patterned Occasions & Vintage Verses stamps sets; Whisper White & Island Indigo CS; Sycamore Street DSP; Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango & Rich Razzleberry inks; 1/4" Island Indigo satin ribbon; Jumbo eyelets in Pewter. |
