 So excited for a chance to play at this week's What Will You Stamp #161 - Bird Banter! I'll be pairing it up with Freshly Made Sketch #330! The one bird I haven't played with yet is the toucan - and today is that day! Like all these awesome birds, he was super fun to color and fussy cut. He cried out for something to offer with that magnificent bill, too, so he got a cute little heart to play with as well. I stamped his companion sentiment on the inside, but I love the band of color and interest I've gotten from this sketch - love it!  Check out our pretty and soft colors at this week's Fab Friday #134! They also just happen to be perfect for Stamp Ink Paper #143's Basket of Flowers challenge! It was so tempting to do something fun with our lovely SAB set, Blossoming Basket. I really wanted to! But then I got to looking at my beloved jars, which haven't been out to play for a while. Argh! To mix it up a bit, I stamped my jar in Staz-On on a window sheet scrap. I hand cut it in case the die didn't like the window sheet, and had fun stamping the water BEHIND the jar image. I built the rest to meet my color challenge. I'm really happy with the minimal look of it - just like a jar would be! Can't wit to see you over at the challenge!  Wow, lots to love about this week's layered sketch from Paper Players #386! I think I can squeeze in a Christmas puppy for Merry Monday #283, too! I was so thrilled when I remembered my wonderful Ready for Christmas stamp set - he's the perfect Christmas pup! And of course that big circular field was enough room to go all out on a little stairway scene - whew! I do recognize that this card would be a bear to mass-produce, but that's what I love about making Christmas cards all year long - it gives me time to make busy little designs here and there, and wonder who the lucky recipient will be come December! Put your bids in early, folks, lol. And do you like my little gag blog post title? It's supposed to be, "Sharing the Joy, but NOT the cookies," lol. Geez, I crack myself up...  Oo, fun bottom-heavy sketch at this week's Case This Sketch#264! I think I'll add in Global Design Project #131's Easter theme, too! So, my avid readers may have noticed something about my lack of Easter cards this year. Don't tell anyone, but I didn't get ANY of the Easter sets this year {GASP!} Eh, they just didn't grab me, though really, last year's awesome Basket Bunch is pretty hard to beat. So, since I was going for something retired ANYWAY, I went even further back to this simple and elegant set from 2012, Take Care. I love playing with the pretty branch and nest, and the simple "Blessings" can be used in so many ways. I figure the little eggs in the nest are perfect for Easter!  It's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #361 time! Check out our fun sketch this week! I'm adding in these calm colors from As You See It #172, too... GOODNESS, it's been a long time since I did a scripture card - and when I saw these colors and that lovely long column on our sketch, I decided today was the day! I kept this card very sketch-literal, and fairly unfussy, though I'm wondering if that really a good way to look at it with my Perfect Accents and ribbon, lol. I stewed for a short time about having no neutrals embellies before I remembered: Perfect White Accents plus Smoky Slate Blend equals Smoky Slate Enamel Shapes, lol. Whew, save by the Blend!  We're in the pink this week with Color Throwdown #485! And I think Just Add Ink #401 will take us there! And I just figured out a way to jam in TGIF #152's marker-to-stamp technique challenge, too - woo! I got to play with my Stamp-A-Ratus again today - LOVE that tool! It was kinf of automatic for this Lovely Inside & Out stamp set - I need to use for other sets, too, lol. I had originally planned to do all kinds of pinks for this card, but then I was digging the Blushing Bride so much I just stuck with that. So fun, especially when I realized I hadn't used my Flower Shop in FOREVER! I could get into pink more when it goes as well as this card, lol...  Yummy! We have a sweet mix of pastels to play with at this week's Sunday Stamps #175! I'm adding in Match the Sketch #221's layout, too! Somehow, I can't help but think of pretty Spring butterflies when I see colors like this - and this was totally reinforced by the little set of wings on the sketch, lol. It was fate! Our green this week looked kinda Mint Macaroon-y to me, so I went digging for some scraps and sparklies in that before building the rest of my card. I went with our smaller Watercolor Wings and tried to work in sparkle and dimension. Kind of a hodge-podge, but a pretty one... See you over at SSC - can't wait to see your creations!  Aww, look at these cute little girls in this week's Fusion Rain or Shine combo - adorable! Being reminded of a soft rainy day by the inspiration pic side of this challenge, I went digging for my last sheet of this water-scape from Serene Scenery - loved this DSP! I knew I needed to bring in an umbrella, and soft soft raindrops, but I found the sentiment I wanted in Eastern Beauty. I'm not sure why all these elements work together for me so well, but I really like the final result. So pretty - and a pretty pain to fussy cut, too, but I can never resist, lol. I stumbled over this retired Adventure Bound DSP the other day, so this gorgeous pine and wood sheet was fresh in my mind, too. I originally had a layer of white over the red, but when I pulled it to emboss it and saw how striking the DSP was directly against the red, I went with that! So fun!
