Look at the cute sketch from this week's Nacho Average Challenge #117! So cheery! This thought led me to Making Spirits Bright - and what's more cheery than a little bubbly?? And hey, I have some bubbly paper, too, from the Lullaby DSP pack - shh, if you don't tell anyone it's really baby paper, they need never know! Hee hee. I carried my bubbles theme through in a few more ways - embossed dots, glitter - yummy! My spirit is lighter and brighter already! Making Spirits Bright & Simply Snowflake Paper Pumpkin Stamp Sets; Crisp Cantaloupe, Hello Honey & Whisper White CS; Lullaby DSP; Basic Black, Hello Honey & Crisp Cantaloupe Inks; 1 3/8 " Circle Punch; Decorative Dots Embossing Folder; Dazzling Diamonds Glitter; Snowflake Thinlet Banner for the sentiment.

Wow, lots of fun possibilities at this week's Clean & Simple #313! I want to keep it light, I think... So, taking my cue from Natasha, I decided to try a die-cut sentiment combined with a stamped expanded version at the bottom. This one from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits fit the bill perfectly! I used some different greens in my repeats - love how it looks. I couldn't resist adding some layers to give a bit more dimension, but I ended up taking off the Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine I tied around the top of the card - it was just too much. I therefore resisted any other embellies, but I think they could actually work out... I really like how this came out! Endless Wishes Stamp Set; Wonderful Wreath Framelits; Whisper White, Garden Green, Old Olive & Pear Pizzazz CS; Garden Green Ink; Retired Garden Green DSP Panel for the layering. Aw, look at that cute snowflake in this week's Fab Friday #55! Looks like more Christmas cards coming! Using Cheerful Christmas this round, I got to do a teeny little bit of everything I love - just a snippet (har har) of fussy cutting, and a touch of hand coloring. It really makes a striking whole! I wish we had some kind of Garden Green ribbon or twine to go with this DSP, but not bad enough to ink something up, lol. I'll just make do! Quick Tip: I'm still in love with Endless Wishes for sentiments - yay, photopolymer! I'm finding it is even easier to put things JUST where I want them when I use a larger block for my stamps, so that I can look through the block to see the complete image I am building. So, if you are still having trouble lining things up, try going up a block size or two! It really widens your field of view! Cheerful Christmas & Endless Wishes Stamp Sets; Nordic Noel DSP; Garden Green, Whisper White & Real Red CS; Garden Green & Real Red Inks; Circle Card Thinlets for Banner Shape; Red Cotton Perle; Basic Jewel Jumbo Rhinestone; Brights Candy Dots in Real Red. It really conveys movement, I think... I decided today I would sift through my scraps of Moonlight DSP - I so adore the color scheme in this one. My little paper pack is getting pretty thin! And to think I used to have trouble getting through my DSP - bwah! That ship has sailed! I also had some fun flipping the "expected" sentiment and image panels - I love doing that! Perfect Pennants Stamp Set; Moonlight DSP Pack; Basic Gray, Whisper White, Hello Honey & Blackberry Bliss CS; Hello Honey & Blackberry Bliss Inks; 1 1/4" Circle Punch; Banners Framelits; Neutrals Candy Dots in Basic Gray. Ahhh, there's never enough Pretty To Give at this month's My Pumpkin Challenge #1114! I'll just throw out it there, though, this month's box has been a stumper - triangle boxes? Really? How many different ways can I juice that?? I have to say straight out, I did a blind internet search this week called "triangle boxes," lol... Some cute stuff does pop up - you should try it! One cute thing I found is this box over at Melissa Sagaser's Creative Treasures, from 2010! Woo! I gave it a few more modern details - all reindeer have eyelashes, right? I'm not usually one for punch art, but this little guy was too adorable not to try! Notes: to get the curve in the ears, snip about 1/2" in at the bottom end of the ovals, and overlap the snips a bit. I nested two different colors together for more depth. For the eyelids, I added that hint of curve by bending a bit with my thumbs, and using a dimensional under there. Paper Pumpkin Sweet As Pie; plus, Snowflake #2 Die (retired); Wide, Large & Small Ovals, and 1" Circle Punches; Early Espresso, Very Vanilla & Basic Black CS; White Gel Pen; Red Glimmer CS; Fringe Scissors; 5/8" Satin Ribbon in Early Espresso. Antlers and ear linings cut from pie box scraps. Pumpkin Club November 29! Did you get your November Pumpkin kit yet? BrrrRRRrrr!! You're going to LOVE it! Check out the video here! Here's another pretty color challenge from In{k}spire Me #174 - I think it's International Blackberry Bliss week, lol! I'm good with that! I think this color combo will go great with Retro Sketch #142! So, excited as I was, no lie, I so STRUGGLED with this challenge! I think it was the color part that made it so hard - I have SO few toys in Bermuda Bay, I just realized! I actually had to go look it up in the catty - there's only one DSP that includes it, and I don't have it, lol! Argh! So out came the trusty Work of Art to play - and even then it was a challenge, sigh. I have little stamped bits of Blackberry Bliss & Bermuda Bay all over the place! I'm quitting now while I'm ahead! Work of Art Stamp Set; Typeset Specialty & Park Lane DSP; Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay & Very Vanilla CS & Inks; 1/8" Taffeta in Bermuda Bay; Brights & Neutrals Candy Dots in Bermuda Bay & Very Vanilla; Itty Bitty Accent Punch. Wow, look at this YUMMY color challenge at this week's Create With Connie & Mary #330! And did you check out the samples?? Connie has some serious blenda skills - I'm in love!I think I'll match up with this week's Just Add Ink #241! At first these colors sent me in a Fall theme direction, and I did end up using the little leaves from Fall Fest, but mostly I focused on my fave "background" stamp from Chalk Lines. I love the paper that uses this pattern in the Moonlight DSP stack, and of course I used it up pretty much right away! Luckily, with the stamps I can make more whenever I want, in whatever colors I want! Yes! This was such a fun combo! Fall Fest, Chalk Lines & A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss & Tangelo Twist CS; Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist & Hello Honey Inks; Fun Fall Framelits; Pretty Print Embossing Folder; Star Punch (to flag the sentiment ends!) Neato, love the interwoven look of the layers in this week's Freshly Made Sketch #163, and I'll be pairing it with this week's Nacho Average Challenge #116! Looking at the sketch I was DETERMINED to use Cheerful Christmas on this one, and looking at the color challenge, I knew I wanted to use my Under The Tree Specialty DSP - I'm starting to see so many cute cards made with it! My stamp almost was too big - yikes! But I jammed it all on there. Right after I glued everything together, I realized I missed some opportunities - totally my Corner Rounder Punch. And the layers cry out for some ribbon or twine. So I went back and made the "stepped up" version you see - amazing the difference a couple little details makes! But I like the plainer version, too! Cheerful Christmas Stamp Set; Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green & Whisper White CS; Under The Tree Specialty DSP; Garden Green Ink; Corner Rounder Punch; Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine; Basic Jewel Rhinestones, colored with Dark Cherry Cobbler Blenda. I immediately started browsing my stamps for a good circle set - I always have a few that have been living on standby for a while, lol... Today's stamp resurrection is dedicated to A Round Array - and I'm frankly having a hard time remembering when I've used this poor set! Looking it over, I decided it had one image that looks like a snowflake to me, so I decided to make another Christmas card! This clean and simple layout really makes the little elements pop, I think. And of curse, SUPER fast to make! A Round Array & Endless Wishes Stamp Sets; Laost Lagoon, Whisper White & Pear Pizzazz CD; Lost Lagoon & Pear Pizzazz Inks; 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch; Circle Card Thinlets; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. They sure helped me calm down a bit when I first viewed the sketch: all the layers were a bit intimidating to me til I saw a few takes on it! I decided the big circle element should be a flower, and one pretty one that hasn't been out to play lately has been the one in Regarding Dahlias. Yay - fussy-cut time! Since I also brought my Gold Soiree Specialty DSP, I decided to go all gold here with my details - classy! Bonus Tip: Have you noticed how many awesome little banner shapes we have now besides the Bitty Banner trio? All the flip card thinlet sets seem to have their own. Rather than dig through everything when I'm looking for just the right size, I have now moved all of them into my Bitty Banner sleeve for convenience (click the link to see what I mean, and go get some magnet sheets, lol) - give it some thought! PS. Thanks for a lovely class last night, ladies! Here is the class sheet for "Spread Yoru Cheer: Christmas Packaging Class!" Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set; Gold Soiree Specialty DSP; Whisper White, Garden Green & Pistachio Pudding CS; Calypso Coral & Versamark Inks; Gold Embossing Powder; Snowflake Thinlets; Gold Sequin Trim.
