 I really like the combination of layers at this week's Just Add Ink #268! Such a fun way to play with different textures and colors... Thinking that, I gravitated towards the yummy Market Fresh set, and its gorgeous DSP, Farmer's Market. I thought originally I was going to go all veggie on my papers, but then these two caught my eye, and would not be ignored! I tried to keep it pretty simple, with clean little details, and I just love the look of all these colors together... We eat so much romaine here, this is in my top 5 stamps in the new catty, lol...  A fun and bold sketch at this week's Freshly Made Sketch #192! What to do with it? Trot out some more new goodies, that's what! Today I decided to ink up the new hostess set Floral Wings. This set is going to be SO versatile! I think I might almost like the 2-step flowering vine I did for the envelope flap best, lol. Anyway, it was fun making this bright and cheery butterfly, and picking out a pretty English Garden print for it to fly over! Sweet and simple... Look at this simple sketch from Nacho Average Challenge #147! Looks like a primo opportunity to show off some DSP! And what yummier paper to show off than our new Cherry on Top stack? I have been going back to this collection again and again - love the bright colors and tasty patterns, lol! I had to add an extra pennant sentiment so I could get all the good words in - I didn't want any one to think I was implying that I had a problem with their donut consumption - of course I'm expressing sympathy for their birthday count! Had fun deciding what punches to use in my oversize treat, too... Time for a funny challenge at this week's Merry Monday #164 - get funky and add a hat (or two, lol.) What a challenge - I'll have to go digging! OK, I'm compromising - I'll use one current and one retired set for today's card. I love, love, LOVE the font in this year's Lots of Joy set, and every time I play with the retired Snow Buddies set, I grin and giggle continually. I love these guys, lol. I've done the other snowman on the inside of the card, and the whole time I was making it, I envisioned these guys wrestling over who got what hat today... Hm, maybe that's why I forgot to give them arms... Less bickering! For today's color challenge, I decided to try to use INK for all five of the colors - I usually try to spread that many colors over paper and embellies, too. With so many colors, I wanted to keep the rest of the details of the card pretty neutral, lol. I think I achieved that - nary a rhinestone in sight, right? I like the splash of Watermelon Wonder on top, but I think this card could still go either way as a guy card OR a girl card. I'm really intrigued by this stamp set - the "carved away" words are challenging me! Time for one last round of My Pumpkin Challenge #0615 - Birthday Bash, at least! For my final Birthday Bash card, I decided I wanted to return to our current kit. So many beautiful bold colors! And I haven't played with the gift bag yet - what?! How about I chop one up, lol... I decided to try and do something with that fun balloon cut-out, but mounted on a card. I think I pulled it off! I even snuck in some of the pretty cord that we have for bag handles - I was worried it would be too heavy for a card front, but strategic placement of glue dots let me use a scrap without bulky up my layers - yay! I think that theme will go great with this week's In{k}spire Me #203's subtle color challenge! i ended up having to dig through the "Room of Retirement" for this one, lol. I just knew I wanted to pull out this old image from the retired Take It To Heart set, especially after all the set hints at TGIFC, giggle. I haven't gotten too many of the weddings sets lately. I have high hopes to soon - both my niece and my nephew have weddings planned for next year, and I hope to do up some goodies for them with whatever happens to be current then! Don't want to jump to soon, know what I mean? Anyway, my eye caught another retired set for the "Bride & Groom," and I've always loved this sentiment from John 15, too. A real mish-mash, huh? Hope I brought some harmony!
