I really like this clean landscape layout at this week's SU-per Challenge #82. I know I only just squeezed in my top layer by doing this, but I decided to leave my card as a standard card base, so I didn't have to make an envelope, too. So lazy! I'm still happy with how this came out - these colors play so well together! I even remembered to put a white panel inside against the dark base. I know JUST who I'm sending this to! You're Wonderful Stamp Set; Garden Green & Whisper White CS; Gold Soiree Specialty DSP; Garden Green, Calypso Coral & Pistachio Pudding Inks; Corner Rounder Punch; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. Mother's Day Corsage Class I am so excited to announce this class - and I'm THRILLED with how our project came out! You will be, too! This month we will be making a beautiful corsage for that special lady in your life: Mom, BFF, inspiration in your life (maybe even yourself - you deserve it!) - to wear again and again. The corsage is made up with a sample of each flower type in the gorgeous Build A Bouquet Project kit from our Occasions Mini catalog, and comes with a hat pin and stopper for fixing in place. I have prepped each kit for us, and divvied everything out ahead of time to make this class ride on rails: I'll be working right along with you to help further explain all the tricks I learned along the way! Class is announced for Thursday April 9, 630 pm, chez Heroldt, or Saturday, April 11, 3 pm, also chez Heroldt. Class is $20, and includes all supplies and instructions, plus snacks, drinks and a gift! Just bring your usual kit, and a hot glue gun! RSVP now so I can make sure to have your supplies prepped and ready for you! (And be sure to let me know if you need different dates - I'm always happy to work with your schedule!)

Look at that tag shape front and center at this week's Just Add Ink #256! Turning this into an Easter creation for In{k}spire Me #191 seems a perfect fit! I've run straight to a pretty literal interpretation of this sketch - it's just so perfect right how it is! I did substitute a retired doily shape, just for a tiny bit more visual interest, but that's about it. I got to indulge exactly what I wanted to do with this: bring in the lovely Indescribable Gift Stamp Set; and use the accompanying sentiment front and center! So far, I've somehow only really had space to use the other two smaller sentiments in this set... Love this! Hint: I achieved a slightly wider tag using my tag topper punch by sliding in a wider strip over the top of the tag channel, then hand-trimming the extra width to match the topper shape. Indescribable Gift Stamp Set; Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White CS; Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry & Calypso Coral Inks; Large Paper Doily Sizzlet (retired); Spring Flowers Embossing Folder; Scallop Tag Topper & Corner Rounder Punches; 1/4" Cotton Ribbon in Pear Pizzazz; Basic Jewel Jumbo Pearls (retired.) Another fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #179 - can you say "justified"?? Lol... Think I'll bring in the cool color challenge over at this week's Create With Connie & Mary #348, too - I never use Rose Red! Today I thought it would be fun to apply this color scheme to our burly lumberjack - they all secretly (or maybe not so secretly) want Rose Red work boots, right? That match their shirts? Who wouldn't?! Anyway, what a versatile pair of challenges - really loved working on this today... Wood You Be Mine? Stamp Set; Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Rose Red & Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Whisper White Craft, Soft Sky, Rose Red & Shara Sand Inks; White Embossing Powder; Corner Rounder & Banner Punches; Woodgrain Embossing Folder; Linen Thread. This week's Merry Monday #151, to use a tree, sure is a sweet one - the design team set a high bar this week! So, when I went digging for tree stamps, I realized I had totally forgotten about my beloved White Christmas set. Yikes! Emergency measures instituted! It was so relaxing to take this out to play today, and get some light coloring and cutting chances, too - big deep sigh, here, ahhhh! There's even glitter! I'm still in love with this baby, and if it doesn't make some kind of carry-over, it definitely will have a spot in my perma-retired vault... White Christmas Stamp Set; Whisper White, Night of Navy & Soft Sky CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede & Early Espresso Inks; White Gel Pen; Dazzling Diamonds Glitter; Banner Punch (for flagging the sentiment!) Lots of room in this big floating panel at this week's Retro Sketch #157! I think I'll try to match it up with the Nacho Average Color Challenge #134 for this week... So Food Network shows have taught me - never say what you're GONNA give me! But I feel like I should admit, I first tried my hand at the bokeh technique, and gave it up for this card - I think the colors were too light to really make a dramatic statement that I wanted. We'll revisit that later! A little more thought sent me in a baby direction - I haven't inked up Something for Baby in forever! I kept it simple and pretty, and tried to mix up the colors enough that they could be used for girls or boys. I love this set - it reminds me of the paper dolls I used to play with that my grandmother gave me - so fun! Something for Baby & Something to Say Stamp Sets; Pool Party, So Saffron Whisper White & Blushing Bride CS; Pool Party, So Saffron & Blushing Bride Inks; Baby's First Framelits; Happy Heart Embossing Folder; Owl Builder & Itty Bitty Accent Heart Punches; Circle Card Thinlets. I LOVE DOTS! The pattern, the candy, the mood - it's all good, baby! Bring on the dots! And I think I'll combine the dots with take two of Clean & Simple #4 - yay! I originally thought I'd be going with my various "dot" embossing folders, but then I realized - we're coming to the end of Sale-A-Bration here (SOB), so maybe I should feature some of our yummy goodies! This DSP is in such awesome colors, it's actually hard to stay away from it, lol. I decided to throw in some of the "spatter" paper, too - that counts for dots in my book! Add a dotty cupcake, and we're all set - tasty days... I can't believe we're already on our last week of My Pumpkin Challenge #0315 - Folds, Punches & Fun! Time for me to bring out the punches! I can't help but feel like these cute little boxes really lend themselves to little gift sets, for just because. You know? This week it's a little box 'o tags, lol, so I can show off all my tag topper punches! I had quite the time finding sentiments to accompany all the letters, too, so FUN! You all thought I'd get stuck on the "K," didn't you? Hah! Not only did I find a sentiment, it's even a Pumpkin stamp! Take that, alphabet nazis! And actually, the "N" was harder - I had to pick between two, lol... So, bring on the Pumpkin layers, gang! Can't wait to see what you've created! Paper Pumpkin - Layers of Gratitude; plus, Seriously, Somethin' Somethin', @SoSocial & Nuts About You Stamp Sets; Best Year Ever DSP, Ribbon & Buttons; Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Crushd Curry & Soft Suede Inks; Ornate, Scallop & Angled Tag Topper Punches; White Baker's Twine. Let's see how it goes paired up with In{k}spire Me #190's color challenge! So, everyone totally knew I was going to trot out Happy Easter Bunny, right? I hope I'm not repeating too much of what others may do by the time I post this, but really, how could I not? I admit, the color challenge might be a little strange for the stamp elements, but I'm really happy with how this little dancer came out! I think it totally works! I also decided to emboss my whole envelope with same folder I used on the card base - looks pretty fancy, I think! Happy Easter Bunny Stamp; Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate & Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe & Rich Razzleberry Inks; Fancy Filigree Embossing Folder; Ovals Collection Framelits; Occasions Piercing Template; Best Year Ever Ribbon in Coastal Cabana. OK, stop what you're doing and jump out right NOW to Freshly Made Sketch #178, and check out the AWESOME samples they have to inspire us this week - so much creativity! I love sketch challenges so much because there's SO many ways to go! The DT really rocked it this week! So, for myself, I was a bit thrown by the focal image being at the bottom. So, um, you know, I immediately flipped the sketch over. And it became a balloon! Woo hoo! Since we're now done with our Spring Break here already, I of course have graduation on the brain, lol, even though we're only freshmen here! I guess the high school attitude is starting to rub off on me - it's like we're in a time warp... Trying to slow everything down just isn't going my way, sigh. I think I'm still in mourning for kindergarten! Celebrate Today Stamp Set; Birthday Bash Specialty DSP; Tangelo Twist, Bermuda Bay & Whisper White CS; Silver Glimmer Paper; Bermuda Bay & Tangelo Twist Inks; Banners Collection & Balloon Framelits; Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim; Banner Punch, for the sentiment. Cute, cute, CUTE! This seemed like such a happy sketch, I wanted to make sure I did it cheery honor - so out came Ray of Sunshine! I tried to mix up my yellows a bit for more variety, and of course, I used my shortest "rays" to try and fit the sketch better. I'm really happy with how this all came together, especially after I had to fussy cut all my rays, lol. Ray of Sunshine Stamp Set; Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate & Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Crushed Curry & Daffodil Delight Inks; Banners Framelits; Circle Card Thinlets; Cloudy Day Embossing Folder; 1 3/4" Circle Punch; Neutrals Candy Dots in Smoky Slate.
