Very nice - In{k}spire Me #524 is kicking us off with a New Year's theme! I decided to play some more with the gorgeous Light Up The Sky bundle for this one - while it IS carrying over, you still have a couple days left to nab it at the bundle price! Today was all about using these cool "masking" dies - I made up a whole background with them on Night of Navy, and then used my blender brushes to place color to show through for a glorious fireworks display! And it turned out the Iridescent Rhinestones were the perfect way to add just a touch more sparkle! So fun! Light Up The Sky Stamp Set; Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet & Night of Navy Inks; Light Up The Sky & Stylish Shapes Dies; Iridescent Rhinestones; #IMC524.

Yay! The luck of the calendar has me working on a two-fer today! Make My Monday #216 is back, with a New Year's theme! And Sparkles Christmas Challenge #156 wants to see a Winter Wonderland! This should be fun! OK, I think I hit on my solution - I need a sentiment that covers Christmas AND New Year's! I ventured all the way back to Hearts Come Home which retired in 2019 - whew! I built my winter scene around that using my beloved Forever Forest Dies in white over Night of Navy, then heat embossed my sentiment and some Fireworks, from this year's Light The Sky. Does it work?? Hopefully! I finished with a few Classic Matte Dots. I can't wait to see YOUR projects this round - see you at the challenges! Hearts Come Home (retired 2019) & Light The Sky Stamp Sets; Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Versamark & Night of Navy Inks; White EP; Forever Forest Dies; Classic Matte Dots; #MMM216; #SCC156. Just in time, In{k}spire Me #496 has a New Year's challenge for us! I was thrilled to remember that I have a New Year's sentiment in my Handmade Wishes Stamp set! Woo hoo! Always fun when I can use a current set on a challenge, lol, though obviously, I don't mind at all going to my Shelves of Retirement, either! This one seemed a natural to pair with this firework paper in the giant Celebrate Everything pack - both these items retire today to make room for the Spring Mini catty. I have been waiting to use this firework paper since I first got the pack! And our retro-looking Adhesive-Backed Stars look great with it, too! Handmade Wishes Stamp Set; Celebrate Everything DSP; Basic White & Poppy Parade CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Poppy Parade Inks; Handmade Tag Punch; Poppy Parade Baker's Twine; Adhesive-Backed Stars; #IMC496. Perfect timing! CAS on Friday #221 has a New Year's challenge for us this week! I tried to keep it CAS, in color and content, but still bring in a bit of bubbly, know what I mean?? I love this sentiment from the Best Year set for New Year's, and I think matching it with our retired Sip Sip Hooray from 2019 is still the most iconic way to celebrate ringing it in! I added some Gold emboss for my "champagne," and finished with a few Wonderful Gems. Clink!! Best Year & Sip Sip Hooray (retired 2019) Stamp Sets; Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; Gold EP; Wonderful Gems; #CASOF221. I'm back at Festive Friday #99 with another inspo list - this time inspired by New Year's Eve! So many fun elements to choose from - I wanted to pull something together that celebrates the spirit of New Year's, without actually saying so, lol. I think I managed it! I was quickly caught by this "best year yet" sentiment from our Best Year set, and I haven't used the Best Plaid Builder dies that go with it in forever! From the list, I chose sparkle, rhinestones, black and diecuts, and let that guide my plaid. Heck, I even threw in some pink, lol. Very fun! Best Year Stamp Set; Basic White, Basic Black, Silver Glimmer & Polished Pink CS; Polished Pink Ink; Best Plaid Builder & Stitched Shapes Dies (both retired); Gingham EF (on envelope); Polished Pink Rhinestones; #FF0099. So perfect! This week's In{k}spire Me #439 is a special New Year's celebration! With a brand new year ahead, I decided now is the time to recommit to being intentional about embracing "change," and holding on to as healthy and positive an attitude about it as possible. It's maybe less of a resolution, and more of a commitment to managing my attitude, or at least trying to, lol. With the events of 2020, behind us now, there were SO many instances where I could have let difficult, sad or challenging circumstances get me down, and forget to honor the many blessings in my life. I hope I never forget to do that! Change is inevitable, and outside my control, but what IS in my control is my response. God grant me grace to always respond with compassion and love, for myself, and those around me. This quick and simple card is my commitment to that intention. Welcome, 2021 - bring on the next adventure! Adventure Awaits (retired 2015) & Number of Years (retired 2018) Stamp Sets; Playing With Patterns DSP; Whisper White & Night of Navy CS; Night of Navy Ink; Large Numbers Dies (retired); #IM439. I think we're starting the New Year's countdown this week at Time Out Challenge #177! Yay! So I'll just put right out there - YES, my Curvy Dies WERE still on my desk from yesterday, lol. I couldn't help it - I really wanted to try another edge pattern! This one sort of reminded me of the fancy chair backs in the inspiration pic, and really, all I really saw after that was all the balloons! So festive and sparkly! Mine aren't quite as fancy, but they do have a bit of sparkle, at least! Enjoy some bubbly on me! Balloon Celebration Stamp Set (retired 2019); Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Vellum & Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer CS; Basic Gray Ink; Balloon Bouquet Punch (retired); Curvy Dies; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #TOC177. I totally knew I had to get out my Sip Sip Hooray set for this one, and I was excited to use my Word Wishes dies for the big sentiments! A match made in heaven! I had some fun playing with the bubbly die that comes with the Sip & Celebrate - I did a little spray of bubbles up one edge, lol. I kept it light and champagne colored with So Saffron and some shimmery golds - just the right vintage, lol. In{k}spire Me #331 has a New Year's challenge going, and I thought it'd be perfect for my New Year's Eve post! I am also completely thrilled and honored to debut my addition to the Sunday Stamps Challenge Design Team, with our color challenge #169 - I hope you'll join in with us! This whole card was all about if I could find a current stamp set that would fit - and I found just the one: Hearts Come Home has a New Year's mention that I think is meant to be an "inside" sentiment, but that I thought would work just as well on a card front. I thought I could make it stand out more by highlighting on a dark background, which of course lends itself to a peaceful evening scene with party stars for New Year's, lol. Yeah, I know, pink stars?? What can I say, they work for me, and it was added fun to make the windows match! I hope you'll join us over at Sunday Stamps - can't wait to see your creations! Hearts Come Home Stamp Set; Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Smoky Slate & Flirty Flamingo CS; Whisper White Craft & Night of Navy Inks; White EP; Hometown Greetings Edgelits; Dazzling Diamonds Glitter; #IM331; #SSC169. It is SO fitting that my final challenge of 2016 will be this New Year's challenge from In{k}spire Me #281! Wahoo! So, I actually still had the retired Making Spirits Bright stamp set still on my desk from a post earlier this week, and one of my fave combos in that set is the bubbly stuff, lol. Seemed a natural to ink it up again and celebrate the New Year with champagne! Happy, happy New Year, everyone! Be safe, and enjoy yourselves! Making Spirits Brights Stamp Set (retired); Whisper White & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Blak. So Saffron & Gold Encore Inks; Champagne (of course!) Glimmer Paper; Dazzling Diamonds Glitter; Layering Circles Framelits; Gold Sequins; #IM281. |
