I'm LOVING our layered landscape sketch this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #437! Today I felt like building a little beach scene using our super fun Beach Day bundle - I am so thrilled by the adorable images in this one! Let's me get my coloring on, too, lol. Anyway, I went hunting for some likely DSP scraps for the bottom detail of the sketch, then went to town with my life guard shack and surf board. I finally got to build the little palm tree from the dies, too - my fave palm tree so far, I swear, lol. I couldn't resist finishing with some Whale of a Time Sequins, too - those little seashells are perfect! I can't wait to see YOUR beautiful creations for this one, too - meet you at the challenge! Beach Day Stamp Set; Bright & Beautiful DSP; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Summer Splash & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Beach Day & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Whale of a Time Sequins (retired); #HSS437.

A new challenge this month from The Male Room #185 - embossing! Now, I've been looking for a chance to use a new embossing folder I acquired - I just had to have it after seeing it out in blog-land! I don't do this very often, but I actually ventured outside of the Mother Ship for this one - it's called Cast Away, from Spellbinders (shhh!) It's GIGANTIC, lol, just like a couple of our own newest folders coming out in the new Annual catty - I could get used to this! Anyway, It seemed a perfect match with our retiring Waves of Inspiration bundle - the netting adds such a nautical detail! I kept it pretty simple with the posing pelican and this gorgeous sentiment - love it! Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set; Misty Moonlight DSP; Basic White, Misty Moonlight & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso Ink; Blender Pen; Daffodil Delight & Gray Granite Blends Markers; Spellbinder Cast Away 3D EF; Waves Dies; Rustic Metallic Dots; #TMR185. We're a little askew this round at Sunday Stamps #334! I've just recently realized that I totally haven't played enough with my adorable Bee My Valentine suite - the DSP is just so cute! I think I broke into the honey sheets, but that was about it, lol. So today's sketch was perfect for showing off TWO patterns - yes! I chose the pretty floral Sweet Sorbet for the background, then this sheet of happy but smaller bees for my tilty panel - perfect! I added a stamped bee, too, just because it's so easy with the builder punch - love it! I can't wait to see your "askew" cards for us this round - meet you at the challenge! Bee My Valentine Stamp Set; Bee Mine DSP; Basic White & lemon Lime Twist CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Daffodil Delight Inks; Sweet Sorbet Stamp-n-Write Marker; Bee Builder Punch; Stylish Shapes Dies; Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots; #SSC334. Very cute - check out the sprinkles on this month's If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #191! Perfect for a birthday! I decided to pull out another retiring set today for this one - and Hello Kiwi has been such a fun and playful set! These bright kiwi pieces always make me smile, lol. I found this fun background sheet in the Bright & Beautiful DSP pack, and started stamping up my fruits! Always fun to arrange these cuties afterwards, too - which to glue flat, and which to dimension up? Good times, lol. I had just a bit of this Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon to add, too! Hello Kiwi Stamp Set; Bright & Beautiful DSP; Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst & Versamark Inks; White EP; Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon; Matte Black Dots; #Cookie191. Oh gosh, I'm starting to have second thoughts about the challenge I issued for us at this round's As You See It #322 - "The color I use the least is..." What was I thinking?? First up, I had to figure out which color it is, and I even had a little method for it! The winner is Basic Gray, because I can tell I'm still working on my original pack of this CS, most of which is still in the hanging folder, along with the full complement of last year's DSP sheets for it, AND even the sheet I punched the folder tab out of, still otherwise intact. I don't even dislike this color! This is a little embarrassing, lol. Lucky for me, I just received the adorable Hearts & Hugs set - I think walruses are PERFECT for highlighting Basic Gray! I did up a pretty plaid background with one of my DSP sheets, and added some Basic Gray Shimmer Ribbon (I have 4 rolls, unopened. ??? I vaguely remember this came packaged with another color, maybe an old SAB reward?) I colored up my snuggling walruses in Smoky Slate, and added a few of these fancy hearts that are also in the die set - just too cute! I can't wait to see YOUR least used color - meet you at the challenge! Hearts & Hugs Stamp Set; Basic Gray DSP; Basic White & Basic Gray CS; Basic Gray Ink; Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake & Pretty in Pink Blends Markers; Hearts & Hugs Dies; Basic Gray Shimmer Ribbon; #AYSI322. So excited - Christmas Craft Creations has a non-traditional colors challenge for us this round! When I look at my "current" stamp shelves, I only have three Christmas sets that AREN'T retiring/retired, lol. Yikes! One of them is Merriest Trees, which thrills me! I got to thinking that this would be a fun one in one of our outgoing In Colors, too, so the Orchid Tree is born! I'm actually loving the look - I floated my stamped off with full strength details tree over a panel of Smoky Slate, and then added MORE details in Silver - what a looker! This pretty sentiment floats over all of that, and I finished with some tiny Rhinestones. So much sparkle feels really festive to me! Merriest Trees Stamp Set; Smoky Slate DSP; Basic White, Orchid Oasis & Silver Foil CS; Orchid Oasis Ink; Merriest Trees Dies; Banners Pick a Punch; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #ChristmasCraftCreations. Very cool - The Flower Challenge #90 would like us to add layers this round - no problem! I love layers! Since this challenge is all about the layers, I really wanted to give the Layers of Beauty bundle another go - but this time with more colors! I went with blues, and tried to take my time with the masks, lol. Three layers of blues comes out looking pretty cool, if I do day so myself! AND, I played with the dies more, too, cutting out the total image, and then the highlighted flower separately, to double dimension! So fun! I also snuck in my newly arrived preorder embossing folder, the Eyelet 3D EF. I really like the look! I'm really happy with how this came out! Now to figure out how to do this in a class, lol... Layers of Beauty Stamp Set; Basic White & Lost Lagoon CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Lost Lagoon & Granny Apple Green Inks; Layers of Beauty Masks; Layers of Beauty & Tasteful Labels (retired) Dies; Eyelet 3D EF; Pool Party Fine Sparkle Gems; #TFC90. It's tic-tac-toe time again at this round's Retro Rubber #229! This time, I started by picking my categories, and I went with the left column - die cut - distressing - ribbon. I'm not sure why, but my brain was just not feeling any of the others, lol. Then I went stamp shopping! What's something cute I haven't used in a while? I finally made it down to my "food" shelf, lol, and came across 2018's Sweet Cupcake - we have a winner! I remember playing with homemade "embossing paste" for the first time with this set - I even still had the little recipe tacked inside the case, lol. We must have done that for messy class! Anyway, I stuck to inks this time, and went with my beloved purples, too - so cute! Thank goodness the insert for these stamps was numbered, because I totally couldn't remember what order to stamp all the layers in! I can't WAIT to see your projects for this fun round - meet you at the challenge! Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set (retired 2018); Fresh Freesia DSP; Basic White, Fresh Freesia & Blackberry Bliss CS; Fresh Freesia, Crumb Cake & Blackberry Bliss Inks; Cupcake Cutouts (retired) & Tailor Made Tags Dies; Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon; Purple Fine Shimmer Gems; #RRCB229. It's International Jazz Day at Make My Monday #224 - let's hear it! When I think of jazz, I think of those sultry torch classics, like Aretha, or Billie, or Bessie - total icons! So I went with some "low-down" blue, that is, Pretty Peacock, lol, and pulled out this old fashioned mic from our Rock Star set - I'm so sad this is retiring, but it's perfect for those ladies! I kept it fairly simple, but I couldn't resist adding my sentiment to "Smoky" Slate, lol, and then I finished with a few Faceted Dots from our first run in this color - I couldn't believe I still had some in a drawer! I can't wait to see YOUR jazzy projects, too - meet you at the challenge! Rock Star Stamp Set; Pretty Peacock DSP; Basic White, Basic Black & Smoky Slate CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Pretty Peacock Inks; Smoky Slate Blends Markers; Rock Star & Stylish Shapes Dies; Pretty Peacock Faceted Dots; #MMM224. Such a cute name for Shopping Our Stash #519's theme this week - "shower me with sunshine" - for a wedding OR a baby shower! I decided to go for a BABY shower, so I could pull out my still super-cute Baby Bundle set from 2011 - love this cutie! It even has a shower sentiment in it! I pulled some gender neutral colors to play with by floating some Soft Sea Foam over Basic Beige, with Lemon Lolly accents - such a fun combo. I can tell SO many colors are going to look great with Basic Beige! I stamped up a few shower elements, including this adorable buggy, lol, colored up, and got to work fussy cutting everything - good times! Still my favorite baby set! Baby Bundle Stamp Set (retired 2011); Soft Sea Foam DSP; Basic White & Basic Beige CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Soft Sea Foam, Lemon Lolly & SU700 Blends Markers; Tasteful Labels Dies (retired); Lemon Lolly Solid Gems; #SOS519.
