There's a lovely gridded sketch at this round of SU Only #387! I decided to check my little stack of not-yet-inked stamps that's been building up on my desk for anything that might work - Love & Courage popped right out! That big beautiful floral image is just right for a central feature, and I combed my DSP packs for some pinks to lay behind it! This set might be easy to miss in our Holiday Catty - it's on page 4, that's not an ad! This set is dear to SU's heart, and $3 from every stamp set sold get donated to breast cancer organizations! Just had to make sure I put in that plug, lol, and it's a gorgeous and warm set besides! Love & Courage Stamp Set; Florals in Bloom & Celebratory Sips DSPs; Basic White & Strawberry Slush CS; Strawberry Slush Ink; Deckled Circles Dies (retired); Strawberry Slush Faux Linen Ribbon; Strawberry Slush Flat Pearls; #SUOC387. Here's one I haven't heard of before, lol - Festive Friday #194 is for National Chess Day! This one was actually a tough one for me - I just did a black and white card YESTERDAY! Listen to me whine, lol. Besides sticking to the palette, I liked the idea of adding some sparkle, and some paper weaving. And why do I not have any horse stamps?? After some fiddling and fussing, I settled on this - I'm not entirely happy with the proportions, and I'm still on the fence about close-cut words like this, but hey, this is a warts-and-all blog, lol, so there you have it! (Black, White, Glitter Card, Weaving, Encouraging Sentiment) Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set & Dies; Basic White, Basic Black & White Glimmer CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Black Sparkle Gems; Basics #2 EF (envelope flap); #FF0194. So cute! If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #208 is for back to school! I really do find this theme pretty challenging - I have NO schoolhouses or buses in my stamps, so I always end up cobbling together something a little weird, lol. Today, I have advice for the back-to-schooler: sharpen all your pencils, and keep your curiosity fresh! Good advice for life-long learning, anyway, lol. First I did this sweet stack of pencils from our Trusty Tools stamp set, then I stamped and pieced this oversized sentiment from 2015's Adventure Awaits - these fun sentiments have been SO versatile over the years! A few yellow Starburst Sequins finishes it off! Whew, that's a lot of pencils! Adventure Awaits (retired 2015) & Trusty Tools Stamp Sets; Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red & Crushed Curry Inks; Real Red Blend Markers; Deckled Rectangle Dies; Yellow Starburst Sequins; #Cookie208. Inspire Create Challenge #201 wants to see shades of blues and greens! My favorite blue-green combos are still found in the retired Waves of the Ocean DSP - I so love marbled papers! To go with this, I pulled my Sunrise Sailing bundle to keep up the nautical theme! I stamped and colored my sailboat in coordinating colors to the DSP, then used the hybrid embossing folder and dies to cut it out - it's hard to see here, but it really has some extra dimension in person! I added my favorite sentiment from this set and finished with some Coastal Cabana heavy baker's twine and a few blue Sunny Day dots. Makes me want to dive right in! Sunrise Sailing Stamp Set & Hybrid EF/Dies; Waves of the Ocean DSP (retired); Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green & Pacific Point (retired) Inks; Lemon Lime Twist Blend Marker; Coastal Cabana Heavy Baker's Twine; Sunny Day Iridescent Dots; #ICC201. Such a fun versatile sketch for us this round at Try A Sketch on Tuesday #678! I went all organic and botanical in my response to this sketch - all those hard shapes make me just want to break through the lines, lol. To that end, I put together this card from the retired Splendid Thoughts suite - I still can't get enough of the flowing lines and soft colors! I set up a background from the Splendid Day DSP, this time using one of the NON-metallic back sides for a softer look. I added a background shape over this as well, to set off my partially colored stems, and then floated the sentiment below as the sketch suggests. I'm so happy with the peaceful wishes this card conveys - who couldn't use a hug now and then? Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set (retired 2022); Splendid Day DSP (retired); Basic White, Crumb Cake & Basic Beige CS; Early Espresso, Soft Sea Foam & Cloud Cover Inks; Splendid Stems (retired) & Stylish Shapes Dies; White Sequins; #TSOT678. Christmas Cards Part 2 September 13! I'm having an extra focus on Christmas this year! Instead of a Fall/Thanksgiving class (we'll hit that in our next Pumpkin Club!) I'm adding an extra Christmas card class so I have room to cover the many gorgeous and amazing Holiday offerings we have this year! Christmas Cards Part 2 will feature 6 cards with envelopes, all from the newly launched Holiday Mini Catalog, or the latest Online Exclusives! Class will also include snacks and drinks, plus, a special gift from me, all for $25! Class is ON for Saturday, September 13 at 2 pm! RSVP now to save your place! Oh, so fun! Shopping Our Stash #555 is "on or in the water!" I have quite a few ocean-y sets these days, and I love them all! There's always a little something different in each one, and I really enjoy pulling all the different pieces together, lol. Today, 2020's Make A Splash hostess stamp set was calling me, and I really thought I'd do up a cute little fishbowl as the set suggest. Just adorable. But then, I got to thinking about how to depict the water, so I went hunting through my retired DSP, and came up with my slim remains of By The Shore, which I think is even older - 2016, maybe? I found this Calypso Coral graded sheet in there (my blue scraps were too small {sob})and things started to go out of the bowl from there, lol. I stamp[ed a few fronds along the bottom, but what I really wanted was this gorgeous seaweed die from 2022's Smooth Sailing dies, and then I threw on some Faux Sea Glass bits, and a few Opal Rounds. I think my Calypso Coral goldfish are quite content with their expanded view, lol. Make A Splash Stamp Set (retired 2022); By The Shore DSP (retired); Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral & Soft Sea Foam CS; Calypso Coral & Soft Sea Foam Inks; Blender Pen; Smooth Sailing Dies (retired); Faux Sea Glass & Opal Rounds (both retired); #SOS555. Up, up and away! Our theme this round at Make My Monday #259 is hot air balloons! For today's card, I went back to my Above The Clouds stamp set from 2020 - this one is the one that had the Hot Air Balloon Punch to go with it instead of dies! I started with this cloudy background DSP that I found in my Pool Party scrap folder - I think it was a past Sale-a-Bration item, but it was loose, so I don't remember the name, lol. From there I stamped and colored three different balloons, punching them out as I went. I went ahead and added my sentiment directly to the Lemon Lime Twist one - so cute! I also did some coordinating banners for the other two balloons, and finished with some birds - a fun and colorful scene! I can't wait to see YOUR hot air balloons in action, too - meet you at the challenge! Above The Clouds Stamp Set (retired 2020); Pool Party Clouds DSP (retired); Basic White & Lost Lagoon CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst & Calypso Coral Inks; Hot Air Balloon Punch (retired); Iridescent Rhinestones; #MMM259. Pumpkin Club August 30! Did you receive your August Paper Pumpkin kit yet? We're off to the farm! Check out the video HERE! I hope you can join us for our next Pumpkin Club, Saturday, August 30, at 2 PM - RSVP to let me know you are attending, and we will save you a seat at the table! Club is free for my subscribers, and includes any extra supplies you might need, plus drinks and snacks! Just bring your own snips and basic adhesive! Remember to subscribe here if you haven't already - sign up by September 10 and you can join us in time for next month! Super yummy! Cupcake Inspirations #619 has a peach and red color challenge for us! I went and pulled my Real Red and Peach Pie color pads and started to look around - this is actually a bit of a tough combo for me, lol. Once I realized I felt unsure, I decided I better go CAS so it didn't go too wild, lol. I finally hit on our Hot Air Balloon stamp set - with the multi-step stamping options I figured it could be a great way to mix the colors! I went with the smaller one, and made a red basket for underneath, too. This simple encouraging sentiment seems right for the stripped down nature of the card, but I did slip on a few Peach Pie Shimmer Gems! Hot Air Balloon Stamp Set & Dies; Peach Pie DSP; Basic White & Peach Pie CS; Real Red & Peach Pie Ink; Peach Pie Shimmer Gems; #CIC619. Man Cards 2025 June 14 at 2 pm! Now is our chance to stock up on some great guy cards - sometimes so hard to craft for! This class will feature 6 all-occasion cards and envelopes for those men in our lives! Class includes all supplies needed (bring your own snips and favorite adhesive!) snack, drinks and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is ON for Saturday, June 14 at 2 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! I'm so excited by our gardening theme this round at Make My Monday #252! I decided to go back to our beautiful Garden Meadow set for this one - and to combine it with the Meandering Meadows DSP, too! Made for each other, I think, lol. I chose a pretty scene, and floated it over some retired Orchid Oasis, so I stamped my sentiment in the same, and even colored a pair of galoshes in it, too, lol. I have always wanted a pair of Orchid Oasis wellies! I added a watering can, and a couple hand tools, so this gardener could get right to work! I can't wait to see YOUR gardening cards - meet you at the challenge! Garden Meadow Stamp Set & Dies (retired 2024); Meandering Meadow DSP; Basic White & Orchid Oasis CS Retired); Orchid Oasis (retired) & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Orchid Oasis (retired), Crumb Cake, & Gray Granite Blends Markers; Nested Essentials Dies; Orchid Oasis Iridescent Pearls (retired); #MMM252. So pretty - AAA Cards #288 has a fabulous sketch for us this round! This seemed like another great chance to break in one more upcoming stamp bundle - this one is called Sunrise Sailing! The bundle includes a lovely nautical stamp set, along with a hybrid embossing folder and dies, which I didn't break in to today, lol. The set has several fabulous sentiments, too, and I went with this "great things" one - I do so love a good encouraging card! I used a blending brush to create my background circle, and set my sailboat over it, along with some detail stamping on the sails and cabin. I couldn't resist a few sea birds, too! The sentiment was next, and then a few Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems. I think it's still pretty CAS! Sunrise Sailing Stamp Set; Misty Moonlight DSP; Basic White CS; Misty Moonlight & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; 2 1/2" Circle Punch; Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems; #AAA288. Pumpkin Club April 26!
