Well, I think I might have gone a little overboard with this one! I just couldn't stop trotting out all the little pieces! For this Retro Sketch #44, I decided to ink up Hearts A Flutter, AND use the awesome framelits that go with this time, too - I'm also so attracted these little sweeps pf banners, had to add that element, too, sigh. See how I did a square shape, too? Breaking all the records! Another fun layout! Hearts A Flutter & Tiny Tags stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Very Vanilla & Primrose Petals CS; More Amore DSP; Hearts A Flutter & Bitty Banners framelits; Owl Builder & Jewelry Tag punches; Linen thread; Subtles button collection. And Happy New Year, dear ones! I know we have a wonderful adventure in front of us! Thanks for being such blessings in my life!

Here's a quick card fro Dad's birthday today - I'm really liking the Clockworks stamp set! I kind of wonder, though, if the pocket watch is maybe not a very nice birthday feature - are we supposed to not think about time passing on our birthdays? Hm... Off to the movies and Indian buffet! Yum! Happy Birthday, Dad! Love you! Clockworks & Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets; Tasteful Trim die; Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pool Party, Early Espresso & Midnight Muse CS; Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon; linen thread. OK, how many of you are hoping I would forget all about my resolution to find more ways to use SU!'s Designer Fabric? No way, baby! One of my Christmas presents this year from hubby was the fabulous book Kazashi In Bloom, by Diane Gilleland. It took me three whole days to realize that we could use it for a fabric project! Yay! Kanzashi is a Japanese art of creating flowers from squares of silk, and assembling them into gorgeous blossoms - so much less pressure in cotton! Woo! This lovely fabric is actually the Tea For Two Designer Fabric from the 2013 Spring Mini catalog - I ordered it accidentally but figured it was fate! (Yes, the order number for the fabric is one digit off from the More Amore DSP, sigh.) These blooms will make their way somehow (in a very cute way!) into our Valentine's class on January 17th - RSVP now! Tea For Two designer fabric; Designer builder brads; Sycamore Street DSP; Sycamore Street designer buttons; Extra Large self-adhesive rhinestones. Whew, I take a few days off, and lose my mojo! Good thing Retro Sketches #43 arrived to jump-start me! I'd been wanting to play with a few more new toys, and figured, what the heck, how many can I fit on one card?? So, the good news is, the Borders Scoring Plate ROCKS! It's actually almost too easy to use - you could really go overboard with this sucker! And, uh, it works even better when you peel off the protective film that comes on it. On both sides. Clearly (yuk, yuk) Stampin' Up! was testing me, sigh... My Little Valentine stamp set; Pool Party & Whisper White CS; More Amore DSP; Needlepoint Border embossing folder; Sycamore Street B&B Pack; self-adhesive rhinestones. Now that we're safely along in our holiday season, I think I can share my house card this year! I totally CASE'd it from Nicole Picadura at Scraps & Stamps. Her version had a lot of dimensionals and was floated on a larger panel - but I had to make 60 of these suckers, so I did a little adjusting! Needless to say, there was Christmas confetti everywhere for a week - woo! I always think I'm going to go in one direction for the house cards, and then I end up doing something totally different - and then do my original thought the following year! My timing needs a little tweaking, I think! Merry Minis & Four the Holidays (retired) stamp sets; Whisper White, Old Olive & Early Espresso CS; Old Olive, Real Red , Daffodil Delight & Early Espresso ink; Merry Mini Punch Pack; self-adhesive rhinestones. When I try to make "manly" cards, I have a tendency to over-embellish. It's just hard to stop sometimes! As a consequence, I don't make a lot of guy cards, sigh... For today's Freshly Made Sketch #66, I decided to break a stamp set I got specifically for its masculine elements - Clockworks. Now, this set, all the pieces are, like, GUY pieces, so I could go CRAZY with them! YAY! Clockworks & Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired) stamp sets; Sahara Sand, Lucky Limeade & Whisper White CS; Sycamore Street DSP; Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Pool Party & Summer Starfruit inks; 1 1/4" Circle punch. Today's Paper Craft Crew #21 seemed perfect for another scripture block card - I really try to keep my eyes peeled for those! It was also another chance to play with some more new goodies from the upcoming Spring Mini and Sal-A-Bration catalogs - there's almost too much to choose from! Not many days left til Christmas - I hope everyone is getting all caught up and ready! Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection #4 & Madison Avenue stamp sets; Pool Party, Sahara Sand & Whisper White CS; Sycamore Street DSP; Island Indigo, Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Sahara Sand & Summer Starfruit inks; self-adhesive rhinestones; Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon; Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch. ...I know they do. Thank you, Retro Sketches #42. Secret Garden & Bloomin' Marvelous stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla & Primrose Petals CS; Print Poetry DSP pack; Secret Garden framelits; Large Oval punch; Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals & Summer Starfruit inks; Natural Trim ribbon. Can you tell I'm having a little escape from Christmas these days?? I needed a little relief, for sure... I have to admit, too, that the unspeakable events unfolding these last few days in CT have had me dwelling desperately on the notion of love. I can only thank God for His gifts of creativity and beauty, His granting of grace in our love for one another and all His creation. Help me to hear Your Voice, Father, and to be Your light to my fellow travelers in this world. Bring us Your peace, always... Hearts a Flutter & Vintage Verses stamp sets; Raspberry Ripple & Pink Pirouette CS; First Edition & Sweet Always (retired) DSP; Pretty in Pink, Calypso Coral & Primrose Petals ink; Hearts a Flutter framelits; self-adhesive rhinestones. Ah, it's so nice to play with all the new toys! Once again, Paper Craft Crew Sketch #20 inspired me to trot out another new set - and I'm already thinking ahead to all the thank you's that come after the holidays! This one was a bit weird for me - lots of little bits that were hard to fit together. I'm afraid I had to take some liberties with shapes! Oh, Hello stamp set; Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip & So Saffron CS; Chocolate Chip, So Saffron; Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party & Wisteria Wonder inks; Ovals Collection framelits; 1 1/4" Scallop punch; 1/8" organdy in Lucky Limeade, self-adhesive rhinestones. |
