I haven't played here in forever, but check out this banded sketch from Just Add Ink #789! After looking over my DSPs for chopping up, I finally decided to turn the sketch - not something I do a lot of! It turns my sentiment, too, so I made it a good one, lol, pulling out my Silly Old Bear DSP, and the Sweet Words & Labels bundle to go with it! I've been doing a lot of Pooh lately for my Pooh focus class, but I somehow managed to miss pairing up with Pecan Pie in the collection! Glad I have a chance to add a sample of that before class - love my Pooh Bear! Sweet Words and Labels Stamp Set; Silly Old Bear DSP; Very Vanilla & Pecan Pie CS; Pecan Pie Ink; Sweet Old Friends Dies; Gold Textured Dots; #JAI789.

Hm, here's an interesting combo at Color Hues #136 - cream and gold! I'm all over it! The biggest gold bang for my buck is always with Gold Foil, so I started by flipping through my die sets. I quickly came across the Gorgeous Garden dies - I honestly can't remember that these were actually ever bundled with a stamp set, too, lol. They're just big gorgeous background dies, one floral, and one leafy. I went with the floral one today, and ran a panel to place over my Very Vanilla card base - still so dramatic! I pulled in our Lovely Arrangements bundle for a sentiment, and I added a few extra leaves behind it since they're in that die set anyway! This came out SO pretty! I finished with a few tiny Festive Pearls in gold, though they were hardly needed! Lovely Arrangements Stamp Set & Dies; Very Vanilla & Gold Foil CS; Versamark Ink; Gold EP; Gorgeous Garden Dies (retired); Festive Pearls (retired); #CHC136. Pooh Bear Focus Class July 11, 3 pm! Lol, the promised day has finally arrived - Winnie the Pooh has his very own focus class! With such a complete and beautifully coordinated suite as the Silly Old Bear collection, how could we not?? This class will consist of 6 all-occasion cards (and counting, lol), and includes all supplies needed, plus a sweet-as-honey snack, and a special gift from me, all for $25! Class is on for Saturday, July 11 at 3 pm! RSVP NOW to save your spot! Good timing! Papercraft Challenge #131 is "sunny days and bright hues!" When I saw the "sunny days" prompt, the gorgeous Scenic Coast DSP popped into my mind - what could be brighter than that? So I dug through my pack and pulled this sheet of glorious color on the water - what a sailing opportunity! I kept it pretty simple in order to maximize that amazing paper - a few sailboats and the sentiment, along with a few blue Iridescent Dots was all I needed. So dramatic! Sunset Coast Stamp Set & Dies; Scenic Coast DSP; Basic White & Blueberry Bushel CS; Blueberry Bushel Ink; Stylish Shapes Dies; Iridescent Discs (retired); #PCC131. Pooh Bear Focus Class July 11, 3 pm! Lol, the promised day has finally arrived - Winnie the Pooh has his very own focus class! Class is on for Saturday, July 11 at 3 pm! RSVP NOW to save your spot! The photo inspo at this round of Time out Challenges #316 looks so summery! I thought right away of my bathing beauty die set from Simply Graphic - "les nageuses!" "The swimmers" will be perfect for this inspo! I started by cutting three floaties in white, and adding some colors to the stripes. From there, I matched the stripes colors to the bathing suits and hats on my beauties - paper piecing these splendid dies is so easy! From there I made a "pool" with my Beach Boardwalk DSP and our old Layering Diorama dies! This "paradise" sentiment from 2023's Paradise Palms stamp set was perfect! So fun! Paradise Palms Stamp Set (retired 2023); Beach Boardwalk DSP; Basic White, Crumb Cake, Strawberry Slush, Summer Splash, Azure Afternoon & Blush Blossom (retired) CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Strawberry Slush, Azure Afternoon & Summer Splash Blends Markers; Simply Graphic "Les Nageuses", Layering Diorama (retired) & Stylish Shapes Dies; Summer Splash Resin Dots; #TOC316. Class is on for Saturday, July 11 at 3 pm! RSVP NOW to save your spot! Lol, I love these bold brights at Inspire Create Challenge #219! Very summery! A last-minute odds and ends order arrived JUST in time for this one - inspired by As You See It teamie LeAnne Pugliese, I had enough time to snag the last chance bundle of Made With Sweetness! How on earth did I miss the fabulous fruity dies with this one?? Thank goodness I had LeAnne to show me what I missed, lol! I picked out 3 fruits that I thought would work for these colors and went to town putting it all together! I did sneak in a tiny scrap of Lemon Lime Twist for my strawberry leaves, but hopefully that's ok, lol. I went with this sentiment combo in Strawberry Slush, and fussy cut the big "sweet" - I always think of these extra sets as the "scrappin'" set, since the fonts are so big! Made With Sweetness Stamp Set & Dies; Beach Boardwalk DSP; Basic White, Pumpkin Pie, Peach Pie, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, Strawberry Slush, Secret Sea & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Strawberry Slush Ink; Strawberry Slush Gems; #ICC219. Pooh Bear Focus Class July 11, 3 pm! Lol, the promised day has finally arrived - Winnie the Pooh has his very own focus class! Class is on for Saturday, July 11 at 3 pm! RSVP NOW to save your spot! Excellent - I LOVE our fill-in-the-blank challenge at As You See It #376 this round - "My favorite embossing folder is..." I think the retired Seabed folder is my all-time favorite embossing folder! I actually don't use it that often, but I love it for all ocean-y cards! I decided to go a little over the top today, and feature mainly the folder, by embossing it on Shimmer White CS, and actually coloring all the embossing. I wasn't sure it would work, lol, but something about the shimmer sort of kept things under control, and I just didn't hold back on all my favorite Blends that reminded me of the sea, lol. I saw a similar card by Su Mohr years ago, and always wanted to try it! Tedious? Yes! Worth it? Completely! I can't wait to see YOUR faves this round, too - meet you at the challenge! Seas the Day Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White, Soft Sea Foam, Soft Succulent (retired) & Shimmer White CS; Soft Succulent Ink (retired); Wild Wheat, Seaside Spray, Soft Succulent, Mint Macaron (all retired), Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Cloud Cover & Soft Sea Foam Blends Markers; Sea (retired) & Stylish Shapes Dies; Seabed EF (retired); Opal Rounds (retired); #AYSI376. Pooh Bear Focus Class July 11, 3 pm! Lol, the promised day has finally arrived - Winnie the Pooh has his very own focus class! Class is on for Saturday, July 11 at 3 pm! RSVP NOW to save your spot! Cool - there's some interesting layered corner action going on in the sketch at AAA Cards #317! I kept this one super CAS and quick, lol. After a speedy browse, I pulled Nature's Symphony for some layered leafy colors in the upper left corner, and added my chosen sentiment to the opposite corner. Since my main color was Pretty Peacock, I rooted out some old Pretty Peacock Tinsel Gems for a little bit extra, lol - I just can't lay off the embellishments! Anyway, this will be an easy card to send to a guy for my Kindness Card Program list this week - always need more of those! Nature's Symphony Stamp Set; Very Vanilla CS; Pretty Peacock, Granny Apple Green & Peaceful Pines Inks; Pretty Peacock Tinsel Gems; #AAA317. OK, I can do this! I love how confident my team is in me at Make My Monday #271, that I can do 2 or 3 color blending, lol! So my strategy is to do a little band of blended colors, but something with some bright contrast, too! After I manage that, I can decide what to put over it, right? So I got to work, and chose Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight & Berry Burst for my colors. I set up my paper on my sticky mat (this thing is miraculous, lol) and got to work masking off where I would blend. I kept going til I was happy, lol, and I think I actually like it, though it's still a bit blotchy, lol. Then I flipped through my stamps and landed on Cutest Crew! AND, I haven't even stamped the birds yet, so today's the day. I really am happy with how this all came out! I can't wait to see YOUR blended projects - meet you at the challenge! Cutest Crew Stamp Set; Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight & Berry Burst Inks; Blending Brushes; Berry Burst Charming Shimmer Dots; #MMM271. Hm, our sketch this round at Sunday Stamps #389 kinda reminds me of a signpost! I took an actual whole day to think about what shapes I could use for this one, lol. And how about keeping it current? I'm pretty terrible about playing with retired stamps, I admit, lol. So, I finally landed on the Fern & Flora suite, BUT, this sketch is just way too symmetrical for me! So I moved over the vertical a little, shh... Anyway, lol, I wanted to start breaking into the papers from the DSP that have these super rich Golden Glow florals on them, too - just so pretty! I went with this one, and added some wispy ferns for my ovals. I also wrapped on some old Crushed Curry baker's twine for my vertical - I think it's close enough! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for our sketch - meet you at the challenge! Fern & Flora Stamp Set & Dies; Moonlit Flora DSP; Basic White & Golden Glow CS; Peaceful Pine & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Crushed Curry Baker's Twine; Golden Glow Dots; #SSC389. Lol, check out the "buzz" at Color Hues #135 - so fun! Now of course a yellow and black combo makes me think of bumblebees - how not? But there was some amazing inspo from the DT at the challenge - it really made the wheels start turning! I decided to go back and do another Golden Days stencil arrangement in yellows - this set is SO dramatic, I love it! But how to differentiate from my earlier pink one? I started by centering my first stencil over my paper, and layered on four colors of yellow as I worked through the rest. As I layered the finished flower over black, I decided to cut the black layer down a smidge so the flower would go edge to edge, and then fussy cut the white space OFF. Yeah, there's even more drama to be had, lol. My centering was so even that I also went landscape with this one, and I'm so pleased that it looks like I planned it all along! Nature's Symphony Stamp Set; Basic White & Basic Black CS; Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Golden Glow & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Altenew Golden Days Stencils; Basic Black Enamel Dot Essentials; #CHC135. |
