![]() Wow, Festive Friday #182 has an awesome inspo list for Earth Day! So many great elements here - I went around and picked up a bunch of stuff from the list - then whittled down to this beauty! And I couldn't resist using my Country Woods DSP, either, lol. I finally settled on my old Sheltering Tree set from 2019 - and I still love it! This was one of our earlier photopolymer sets, and the possibilities for easily building a scene were thrilling, lol. I found this "frame" and rectangle tucked in my Deckled Rectangles sleeve, and decided to use these for my stamping surface! So cool to pop up the center once I was done - I had a fun time playing with layers today! And the sentiment - just right for Earth Day, too! I think I got Earthy Colors, Wooden Elements & Trees from the list! Sheltering Tree Stamp Set (retired 2019); Country Woods DSP; Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso, Crushed Curry & Cajun Craze Inks; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Textural Elements; #FF0182. ![]() Pumpkin Club April 26! ![]() Very fun - Inspire Create Challenge #190 has a monochrome challenge this round - any color we want! I couldn't pass up another chance to show off another upcoming set - and this one is a cutie-patootie! Here's a sneak peek at Poppin' By - a popcorn set! It has such cute little popcorn characters, and a striped bucket, too! And with the adorable dies - you can make shoes and shades for everyone, lol - adorable! There's also some punny popcorn sentiments, too, but we could make so many more, don't you think? I never would have thought I'd do a monochrome in yellows, but I guess I have the munchies, lol... Poppin' By Stamp Set; So Saffron DSP (retired); Basic White & Crushed Curry CS; Crushed Curry, Memento Tuxedo Black & So Saffron (retired) Inks; Poppin' By & Nested Essentials Dies; Lemon Lolly Rainbow Dots; #ICC190. ![]() LOVE this rich color combo at this round of Hand Stamped Sentiments #460! AND, I've been neglecting Summer Splash - now's my chance to show it some love! This was perfect timing to show off another upcoming bundle, too - take a peek at Paper Tags, with comes bundled with some fabulous tag dies - that even LAYER! Wheee! I have to say, I am in LOVE with this color combo, and it made picking this particular tag a cinch, so that I could float on that little banner in a contrasting color, too! I found my woodgrain Pecan Pie in the To Market DSP pack, and had some fun playing with my two blues to go with - beautiful! It's also funny to me that Summer Splash is the only In Color ribbon I got from this family - very unlike me! Paper Tags Stamp Set; To Market DSP; Basic White, Pretty Peacock & Summer Splash CS; Pretty Peacock & Summer Splash Inks; Paper Tags Dies; Summer Splash Bordered Ribbon; Summer Splash Resin Dots; #HSS460. ![]() New Catty Preview Class April 12 at 2 pm! I had a great time browsing through my retired shelves today - so many sets that haven't had ink in a while! 2016's A Nice Cuppa won today, but I have so many more in mind again now! I knew I wanted to put this long teacup stack with sentiment onto my banner - what else to do? I finally remembered that I still have an almost full pack of Tea Boutique DSP, and there are some wonderful bright tea sheets to play with in there! I wound up with this combo of Parakeet Party behind these sweet teapots! The teapots reminded me that I ALSO still have a lot of little silver pots from A Little Cuppa Embellishments - perfect! I made sure I hit the sketch elements, then tucked on a lemon wedge and a little teapot trinket - super sweet! Now I only need some biscuits! I can't wait to see what YOU do with our fun sketch - don't forget to make it Retro! A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set (retired 2016); Tea Boutique DSP (retired); Basic White & Parakeet Party (retired) CS; Orchid Oasis (retired) & Daffodil Delight Inks; Daffodil Delight Blend Marker; Fern EF; Starry Sky Pearls (retired); Have A Cuppa Embellishment; White Baker's Twine; #RRCB252. ![]() New Catty Preview Class April 12 at 2 pm! I was really itching to ink up another new set, so I pulled out my upcoming Notes & Totes bundle - so fun! I managed the purples on the tote, with a retired Fresh Freesia DSP and Gorgeous Grape trimmings. I even slipped on a Garden Green bandanna - so many cool details in the dies! I did some Peach Pie speckle for the bottom of the card, to look like sand, and added a couple peachy shells, too, to reinforce the image, lol. This warm wishes sentiment seemed like the right one for my beachy scene, and I finished with some Garden Green embellies, too. So cute! I can't wait to see what YOU make of our colors this round, too - meet you at the challenge! Notes & Totes Stamp Set; Fresh Freesia & Garden Green DSP (both retired); Basic White, Gorgeous Grape & Peach Pie CS; Peach Pie & Gorgeous Grape Inks; Notes & Totes Dies; Garden Green Linen Thread; Garden Green Transparent Dots; #AYSI345. ![]() New Catty Preview Class April 12 at 2 pm! Sketch Saturday #772 went to the vault for this cutie! So fun to update these! For some reason my eye caught on my Adventure Together set today - could I make this fit in the sketch? I couldn't help but transform the layered pieces to a little banner, but I did manage a triple of smaller elements below the camper - maybe sort of similar?? Anyway, I went where the images (and the dies, lol) led me! I colored my camper in a combo of Soft Sea Foam and Lost Lagoon - I'm loving them together, too! I made the camp chair and fire pit go with the camper as well - you know I love matchy-matchy, lol. I did a quick tie-round with some Beige Twine from our Essentials pack, too! Adventure Together Stamp Set; Enjoy the Journey DSP (retired); Basic White & Garden Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight. Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon & Shaded Spruce Blends Markers; Adventure Together Dies; Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems; #SS772. ![]() We're headed to the vineyard with our colors this round at Sunday Stamps #357! Yum! So, purples and green are my FAVORITE color combo, lol. What else could I do with these besides grapes? How about some cacti?? I quickly realized I wanted to pull out my old Flowering Desert set from 2019 - I love building my own crazy cactus with this cutie - we see some WILD ones here in Arizona! I started by laying on a purple combo of Blackberry Bliss with Highland Heather for the back cactus, then I did an Old Olive one on some scrap to fussy cut - I even added some Crushed Curry flowers! I added a cheery sentiment, and finished with a few Faux Glass Dots - clean and simple, baby! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for our juicy colors - meet you at the challenge! Flowering Desert Stamp Set (retired 2019); Basic White CS; Blackberry Bliss, Highland Heather, Old Olive & Crushed Curry Inks; Faux Glass Dots; #SSC357 ![]() Yay! Somehow it feels like it's been forever since we did an "anything goes" round at Retro Rubber 251! I think I really need some chicken therapy today - time to call in 2006's Best of Cluck! These little crazies are just so fun to color, still! And who cares that there aren't dies?? I even like to fussy cut, lol. I started with my hen trio, making them as bright and cherry as I could, then adding different feather details with a White gel pen. When I pulled my chicken wire background stamp (1999!!) there was already this piece stamped up - pretty sure it's the now-retired Crushed Curry, but I'm cool with that! I added chicken feed to my Crumb Cake layer, and some chicken tracks across the bottom of my envelope - I had such a good time with these guys! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with - come join us at the challenge for Anything Goes! Best of Cluck (retired 2006) & Chicken Wire (retired 1999) Stamp Sets; Basic White, Real Red, Crumb Cake & Crushed Curry CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lime Twist & Real Red Blends Markers; White Gel Pen; Rectangle Stitched Dies (retired); 1" Circle Punch; Red Sequins; #RRCB251. ![]() Pumpkin Club March 29! Shopping Our Stash #543 wants us to "think ink" - that is, use an ink-heavy technique - with abandon, lol! After a little though, I decided my heaviest ink applications come from stamping WITH a block, and I love the geometric feel to the finished stamping, too! So I pulled three retired colors from my stash, and went to town! I wanted bold color, with enough opacity that I could finish with a simple Black sentiment, so I went with Stary Sky, Tahitian Tide & Parakeet Party, and my three smallest blocks - so fun to just throw on random patterns! I really like how the inking came out, and for my sentiment, I went with our old Stepping Stones stamp set - I never did use it enough, lol. This Goethe quote cuts right to the heart of it, doesn't it? This time the set that popped up for me was Hot Air Balloons - what a great way to play with the shapes! I didn't realize, though, that even the smaller of the balloons was just a LEEETLE too big for that nice stack of circles - oh well! So I gave the center one a little jog to the right, lol. I think it still works! I made them nice and bright, and floated them over this cool cloudy DSP! I found it in my Pool Party scrap folder, so I don't know what it's called anymore - that didn't work how I hoped it would, lol. I think it was an old SAB DSP pack? Anyway, it all fits together pretty spiffy! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our fun sketch - meet you at the challenge!
