I'm back again at First Cup Challenges #8 - time for Thanksgiving! After some consideration, I might not quite have nailed Thanksgiving, but I have Fall down! I went back to out Merry Cafe Stamp Set from 2017 - combined with Coffee Cafe and the Coffee Cups Dies, this is a still-awesome combo! I love that there are two sizes of cups to choose from, and SO many little coffee shop accessories - like the playful belly band I stamped up today! I made my cup extra fancy by stamping on this oak and acorn sheet from the Rings of Love DSP pack - perfect for Fall! I'm so glad I found this challenge - so much fun! I never quite realized how many "drink" sets I have, lol. Coffee Cafe (retired 2019) & Merry Cafe (retired 2017) Stamp Sets; Rings of Love & So Saffron DSP (both retired); Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso & Crushed Curry Inks; Coffee Cups Dies (retired); Gold Cording Trim; Timid Tiger Flat Pearls; #FCC8.

I am so super excited to host our sketch this round at Sunday Stamps #373 - I hope you love it! I'm so thrilled to finally get a chance to ink up my gorgeous Friendly Foliage bundle from our latest Online Exclusives! I was totally jazzed to be one of the few "SW Locals" who made it to the Kanab Facility tour organized by our DDM (SU-speak for Regional Demo Support!) Natalie White. I've already shown off my adorable Valentine Kisses set - this foliage set was the one presented by the OTHER artist who presented to us that day - and what a treat to get to peek in his sketch book! We might have seen some cute mice in our future! Anyway, he walked us all through his process for developing this fun set - and I LOVED the two part dies to make this "peekaboo" effect for the stems! I can't wait to see YOUR fun projects with my sketch - meet you at the challenge! Friendly Foliage Stamp Set & Dies; Timeless Plaid DSP; Basic White & Basic Beige CS; Mossy Meadow & Versamark Inks; Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim; Mossy Meadow Low-Profile Sparkle Dots; #SSC373. What an interesting challenge at this round of Time Out Challenge #300! They'd like us to celebrate an Autumn Festival from around the world, and have suggested a list to choose from! As soon as I spotted Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, I knew I wanted to try for that one! I think that cultures the world over celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, and good over evil! Diwali lamps, called Diyas, are the perfect symbols of this five day celebration, and after a little thought, I mirrored this by creating five lanterns of my own, using last year's Lighting The Way bundle! I started by setting up a background with our glorious Lights of Aurora DSP, then cut 5 different colored lanterns with the dies, which I then trimmed down to this simplified hanging version. I backed each one with vellum, that I colored with Darling Duckling, though it doesn't show over the darker paper. This sentiment seemed just right. I loved this project! Lighting The Way Stamp Set & Dies (retired 2024); Lights of Aurora DSP; Basic White, Blackberry Bliss, Poppy Parade, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Berry Burst & Granny Apple Green CS; Vellum; Black Berry Bliss Ink; Darling Duckling Blend Marker; Frosted Iridescent Dots; #TOC300. Lol, I love the theme at this round of Shopping Our Stash #559 - pumpkin spice and everything nice! I definitely had to bring my More Than Autumn bundle back out for this one, and today I focused on just the foo-foo coffee, with big whipped creams! I think it looks super yummy over this pretty autumnal plaid from my old Plaid Tidings DSP pack, and I also went for the diecut sentiments this time. I don't do that too often! I cheated a tiny bit and finished with Timid Tiger Flat Pearls - all's fair in love and pumpkins! More Than Autumn Stamp Set & Dies; Plaid Tidings DSP (retired); Basic White, Blackberry Bliss & Pumpkin Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake & Peach Pie Blends Markers; Timid Tiger Flat Pearls; #SOS559. Another fun challenge from Cupcake Inspirations #629 - what makes you smile? I have two things that make me smile in my stamping, lol, otherwise I think I might just be generally relentlessly cheerful anyway! First off, I love all things dotty - polka dots are so cheerful! Next, critters ALWAYS make me smile, especially the cute bears in our upcoming Valentine Kisses stamp set and die bundle! I was totally captivated by an artist presentation on this bundle at my recent trip to Kanab, so I knew I was going to get it as soon as I could! Even the artist was smiling and giggling all through her talk about her creative process on this one, lol - a girl after my own critter heart, lol. I'm starting simple with this big ole bear bringing a bouquet of flowers - thanks, buddy! Valentine Kisses Stamp Set & Dies; Crumb Cake DSP; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist & Flirty Flamingo Blends Markers; White Gel Pen; Stylish Shapes Dies; Strawberry Slush Gems; #CIC629. Oo, another fun one at AAA Cards #301 - with an optional twist of grays - game on! After some thought, I pulled my Autumn Toile DSP - yes! There's a pretty pattern in Gray Granite in there, matched with Very Vanilla! I knew I wanted a dramatic stem to go with and over, so I pulled last year's Gorgeously Made bundle - love the dies in this beauty! I cut a leafy stem as planned, and stamped this sweet sentiment also on Gray Granite to also cut with the "tape" die in the set. A few tiny gray Riverside Pearls were the perfect complement to this! Quick and pretty, just right! Gorgeously Made Stamp Set & Dies (retired 2024); Autumn Toile DSP; Very Vanilla & Gray Granite CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Riverside Pearls; #AAA301. Our theme this round at Make My Monday #262 is fabric or textiles! After a reflexive moment of panic, I remembered the awesome Need For Tweed DSP pack - whew! Saved my bacon! I set up this quick tiled background of one of the patterns and then went hunting for a simple sentiment to go with. Turns out that the scripty "hello" in our Branching Out stamp set was just right! I stamped in Early Espresso to coordinate with the background, and added a fold of Faux Suede Trim behind it. I love how it looks! I decided to finish with a few lighter Crumb Cake Dappled Dots - they show JUST enough, lol. I can't wait to see YOUR creations for this one - meet you at the challenge! Branching Out Stamp Set; Need For Tweed DSP; Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Tasteful Labels Dies; Faux Suede Trim; Dappled Dots; #MMM262. Yay! I love our fill in the blank challenges, and we have a great one today at As You See It #358! "My favorite thing about Autumn/Fall is..." Well, thanks very much to Trader Joe's, my favorite thing about Autumn is PUMPKIN EVERYTHING, lol. SO many things I never knew I needed til pumpkin season hits TJ's! My current faves ( as in, this week, lol) are bougie Pumpkin Spice coffee (with whipped cream), Pumpkin Spice Baton Cookies, and Pumpkin Spice Pumpkin Seeds! Oh, and Pumpkin Harvest Soup! So yummy! Seriously, the fad for all things pumpkin is just fine by me, lol. I can't wait to see YOUR favorite Fall things, too - meet you at the challenge! More Than Autumn Stamp Set & Dies; All About Everything Paper Pumpkin (!!) (retired 2018); Autumn Toile DSP; Basic White & Basic Beige CS; Early Espresso & Pumpkin Pie Inks; Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Tasteful Labels Dies (retired); Pumpkin Pie Heavy Baker's Twine; Pumpkin Pie Sequins; #AYSI358. Oh, I LOVE this combo - Cupcake Inspiration #627 would like us to use pale pink and brown together! I thought for sure that I'd be using our sweetest pink, Bubble Bath in this one, but when I checked my scraps folders, I liked the ones I had in my retired Blushing Bride stash better, lol! The irony is, I didn't much care for this color when it was current, and now I miss it terribly, sigh. Anyway, how cute do fancy coffee cups look in pink, with lovely Early Espresso for the beverages?? Too yummy! I did two different cups, and colored them in with a Stamp-n-Write marker - I forgot we didn't have a Blend for this color, argh! Anyway, some artful coffee splatters, and a quick double bow in pink bring it all together - I think I need a cuppa! Latte Love Stamp Set & Dies (retired 2024); Blushing Bride DSP (retired); Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Blushing Bride Stamp-n-Write Marker; Nested Essentials Dies; Blushing Bride Solid Baker's Twine; #CIC327. This will be fun: The Male Room #202 wants us to create our own background! I decided to flip through my decorative masks for this one - a nice stenciled background should do the trick! I dug deep into my stack and found this splashy one in the old Seasonal Decorative Masks pack! Fun! I figured some bright blues could go well, and also dug out this sweet little sailboat in 2022's Sweet Farewell Stamp Set. I brushed on my colors in Azure Afternoon with touches of Pretty Peacock, then stamped up this feature column with the boat and the sentiment I chose - and pieced on the little "of" while I was at it. This whole card was pretty quick, too! Sweet Farewell Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White & Azure Afternoon CS; Azure Afternoon, Pretty Peacock & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Azure Afternoon, Real Red & Color Lifter Blends Markers; Azure Afternoon Dots; Seasonal Decorative Masks (retired); Blender Brush; #TMR202. |
