Oo, a very fun shape challenge this week at Less is More #452 - hexagons! My mind immediately went to last year's Honey Bee set - I remembered there being a little honeycomb die in there, and I was right! Everyone's favorite hexagon! I cut one out in Basic Gray, and did some inlay in Bumblebee for the honey - of course, lol! After that, all I did was add a pretty bee, and a sweet sentiment to the side. That's all we need, right? Honey Bee Stamp Set (retired 2020); Basic White, Basic Gray & Bumblebee CS; Basic Gray Ink; Daffodil Delight Blends Marker; Detailed Bees Dies; #LIM452.

I am LOVING the combo over at this week's In{k}spire Me #458 - we could all use some sparkle in our lives! I really mulled this one over for a while - the DT samples were so inspiring! I really wanted to try my hand at funky colors for natural elements, so I finally landed on Nature's Harvest to try it with! Those stem die shapes in the die set are just TOO enticing, lol. I pulled in Tailor Made Tags for my ovals, added my stems, and built the background around them - and I love the final result! Nature's Harvest Stamp Set; Basic White, Rich Razzleberry, Cinnamon Cider & Polished Pink CS; Gold Glimmer Paper; Rich Razzleberry Ink; Timeworn Type EF; Harvest & Tailor Made Tags Dies; Gold 1/8" Ribbon; Brushed Metallic Dots; #IM458. We're seeing all the angles at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #526! Now, how to work in our Oktoberfest theme for SU Only #285?? I'm just gonna put right out there that I feel like a bit of a poser for this one - my family is from Ireland, and we don't have much of an Oktoberfest tradition, lol. We have our own beer holidays! So I had to actually look up "Oktoberfest Symbols" online to get some ideas, well, besides beer, lol. How, I wonder, have I gone my whole life with no pretzel stamp?? I'm sandboxing that one, lol. Anyway, here's what I came up with: beer, cheese and mustaches, baby! Good times! I'm even almost in German flag colors! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for this one - slainte! Mixed Drinks & Picnic With You Stamp Sets (both retired 2018); Basic White, Basic Black, So Saffron & Cajun Craze CS; Versamark & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; White Gel Pen; Mustache Die (retired); #TSOT526; #SUOC285. Argh! As You See It #259 is really putting it to us this week, with a humorous speed challenge! OK, time to assemble materials, starting with the stamp set. I thought right away of 2018's Dad Jokes, but then I remembered, don't I have a woman pun, too? Hold it! I actually have a couple, in 2010's Favorite Thoughts, but my fave is this great quote by Eleanor Roosevelt, lol. My mind was off and running at this point. Could I "make" a teabag from vellum? Fingers crossed, lol. I started the clock, quick cut my layers, stamped my sentiment, ran to the Big Shot, cut it out, and embossed my background layer and envelope flap while I was there. At that point, I spent 3 whole minutes fiddling with the vellum to get the shape I wanted, and everything stapled. All assembled - ding ding ding! 8 minutes, 33 seconds. Whew! Favorite Thoughts (retired 2010); Basic White, Crumb Cake, Vellum & Merry Merlot CS; Early Espresso Ink; Timber EF; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Heart to Heart Punch (retired); White Baker's Twine; Stapler; #AYSI259. Ooo, looky looky! CAS on Friday #214 has a pretty sketch for us this week! The timing couldn't have been more perfect to pull out my just-arrived To The Moon set. I love this one because of the perfectly lunar subtle images, and all the sweet sentiments to go with - such a great range in this one! I kept it all pretty CAS for the challenge, but I HAD to try out the brilliant ribbon application by CASOF design team member Valerie Durag - genius! Totally trying this again! To The Moon Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Gray Granite & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Slot Punch (retired); Gray Granite Textured Weave Ribbon; Subtle Shimmer Sequins; #CASOF214. Wow, Fusion's "Peach Birthday" challenge has a cool sketch, too! So, of course I had to pull out my gorgeous Sweet as a Peach suite for this one - I just have not been using this enough! The paper is just so perfect, I had to do a lot of DSP featuring, too - somehow I can't quite achieve this perfect coloring, lol. I picked two peachy patterns, and then fussy cut this perfect fruit for the center point of the band - my mouth waters just looking at it! I had to add one hungry bee, too - they're always buzzing around this sweet harvest! Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set; You're a Peach DSP; Basic White & Pear Pizzazz CS; Pear Pizzazz Ink; Banners Pick a Punch; Bumblebee Trinkets; #FusionPeachBirthday. So excited that Retro Rubber #167 has a sketch for us this week - lots of fun layers, too! Off I went hinting for a likely feature image, and I quickly settled on Sweet Cupcake, a GORGEOUS cupcake set that retired in 2018, but first came out in 2016! I even still had a custom embossing sheet I made with the dies still in there! I can't even remember when I last used this! I pulled out my beloved Pattern Party DSP, and took my cupcake colors from there, and even gave my Basic Border Dies a spin. I love how this came out, and I really want some cake! Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set; Pattern Party DSP; Petal Pink, Basic White & Flirty Flamingo CS; Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, Early Espresso & Mango Melody Inks; Cupcake Cutouts (retired), Basic Borders & Stitched Shapes (retired) Dies; Petal Pink Enamel Dots; #RRCB167. I LOVE this week's code word at Addicted to CAS #206 - "leaf!" I went straight for my Love of Leaves set for this one! The shapes and shading of the stamps is perfect, the sentiments are super sweet, AND they have the amazing dies to go with! That's the part I focused on today, and I tried them out on the gorgeous Beauty of the Earth DSP, so I could get even more green shading in there! I love the stitch detail for the leaf veins so much! I put in just a few Old Olive Enamel Dots, too, but it's still pretty spare! Love of Leaves Stamp Set; Beauty of the Earth DSP; Basic White CS; Evening Evergreen Ink; Stitched Leaves Dies; Old Olive Enamel Dots; #ATC206. Pumpkin Club September 25! Now here's a perfect Christmas theme if ever I saw one! CAS Christmas wants to see our holiday plaid! I went thumbing through my SAB Peaceful Prints pack of paper to see if there were any good plaids - and of course there were! I haven't used this one very much for some reason, but when I saw this red plaid sheet with snowflakes on it, I was hooked! I went back and pulled my just-retired Itty Bitty Christmas bundle for it, because it has these delicate snowflake dies that look so like this DSP! And of course, SO MANY Christmas sentiments!! A few white sequins adds just the right finishing touch! Itty Bitty Christmas (retired 2021); Peaceful Prints DSP; Crumb Cake & Basic White CS; Christmas Layers Dies; White Sequins; #CASChristmasPlaid. Pumpkin Club September 25! I am loving our mix-it-up combo this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #525! Some folks may already know this about me, but I have one tiny stampin' indulgence outside of my beloved Stampin' Up! The scripture sets at Our Daily Bread, now called Divinity Designs, are a real indulgence for me. I swear, I do get every scripture set SU! makes, but the detailed verses from Divinity just can't be beat. I don't often get a chance to feature them on cards, but the cards I make with them always inspire my prayer practice! Today's card, with its reminder of His compassion, really spoke to me today... I can't wait to see YOUR takes on this week's mix-it-up - meet you at the challenge!
