 Wow, there's some fun play with layers over at this week's Retro Sketch #220! And I want to try out this super fun challenge at Can You Case It #126, too - use your favorite dies! In all honesty, I would have an incredibly hard time choosing just ONE set of dies as my fave this year, lol. At least I snuck in a second set on this card, which needed just a little bit of special business along the top of the central panel. How can you go wrong with cupcakes, really? For my background layer, I made a home-made embossing sheet with the curly thinlet shape and chipboard. I got best results using my crease pad in the "sandwich!" Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set; Ancient Pumpkin Pie DSP Scrap; Whisper White, Mint Macaron & Chocolate Chip CS; Chocolate Chip & Pumpkin Pie Inks; Cupcake Cutouts & Everyday Jars Framelits; Mint Macaron Heavy Baker's Twine.

 Can you believe we've had 5 weeks of MPC0616 - All About the Guys? Woo! I hope you've enjoyed our month-long dude-a-bration! For my final card, i went back to stencilling - so fun! - and I think these classy colors from In{k}spire Me #255 will be perfect for it! I figured I better get on it for my brother's upcoming big day - and I know my sister in law will provide plenty of cake, lol. Here's to the guy I can go without talking to for years, but who knows just what I should do when I call out of the blue from across the country in a panic when I realize one of the propane tanks leaked in the garage one night.  Check out this fun layout from Pals Paper Arts #306! I'll pair this one with the fresh colors at Create With Connie & Mary #412! So, it turns out that Flourishing Phrases isn't ready to move off my desk yet, lol. And, it feels like a good day to fussy cut! Can I help it if I'm still feeling floral?? Lol. I'm so happy with this card - I love it when good challenges work so well together! I made this a congrats card, and paired up the lovely wedding sentiments from this set on the inside - I have a couple family weddings coming up this fall that I can't wait to celebrate!  Another lovely sketch from Match the Sketch #130! This time I'm matching it with the sweet colors from Just Add Ink #317! OK, I think this might be chance to finally bring out Flourishing Phrases to play! Yay! Besides the gorgeous stamp set, this set also has a set of truly beautiful thinlets to go with. I can't quite make up my mind which I like more, lol. A little squinting, and I can see the sketch just fine in my card, don't you think?  Love this play on shapes at Freshly Made Sketch #242! I really dithered a bit about what to do with this card. I knew I was changing the shape (of course!) but to what? I kept coming back to Jars of Love - today the images remind me so much of going to the county fair in summer, and winning a fish at some game, and then coming home and chasing fireflies with my sister on the lawn. Good times! We would always try to collect them in a jar at least a few times every summer - we had a special one with holes punched in the lid. You guessed it, the fireflies could always crawl out THROUGH the holes, lol. Oh well, we were always game to keep trying! Today I brought out Holly Jolly Greetings, which came out in the last Holiday Mini, but that I didn't get til it made the transition to our new Big Book. I had the thinlets, of course - I love any kind of word thinlet, but I held out on the stamps. I'm such a goober! This is a super versatile and fun set - what was I thinking?! I had a good time playing with these colors, too - I've never been a Wild Wasabi fan, but it looks lovely here!  We're having a patriotic bash with Fab Friday #90's colors this week! I'm happy to combine it with this fun sketch at Retro Sketch #219! I'm excited today to play with our awesome new RMHC set - My Hero. There's a little bit of everything in this one, and just about every image has a punch or framelit somewhere, too! Today I tried out the cute little umbrella (which I had to fussy cut, shh, because I haven't gotten the new Weather Together bundle, can't wait!) I played with some texture, added some sparkle, some "splashes" (I crack myself up!) of color, and we are all set!
