A sketch like this is just crying out to show off some gorgeous paper, and this vibrant Sale-A-Bration DSP that coordinates with several new butterfly sets coming in the Spring Mini (3 more days!!) does NOT disappoint! I chose a soft botanical sheet for my columns, and fussy cut a few fancy butterflies from another sheet - just beautiful. My sentiment is from another SAB goodie, the lovely Part of My Story set, 6 different modern and moving sayings to share with our loved ones, and even new friends. LOVE how this card came out, but still so simple. Happy New Year, everyone - here's to a year of love and creativity for us all!  Check out our wintry cardinal in this week's Sunday Stamps #195 color challenge! Isn't she gorgeous?? Today I let the colors speak to me through another new stamp set I'm super excited about - Vibrant Vases! I love it when we get to play with stamp sets made to go with framelits or punches we already have, as this one does - yippee! This new vase set has new vases AND flowers for us to arrange, along with some lovely new sentiments as well - just right for saying SO much. I can't wait to see what YOU make of our lovely colors this week - see you at the challenge! Anyway, I was able to whip up a mini milk carton for each of them (and Mom & Dad, lol) and fill it with Rolo's - a quick little treat to keep the holiday spirit going! Today I stamped him on Crumb Cake, colored in his nose with my Blends marker, and made his antlers be all sparkly! Such a fun sketch! I love that you can dress your kitty up or down, and he comes with toys and treats to play with, too! So fun! Today I made a stripey boy, in memory of my handsome Adso, who we had to let go a couple of weeks ago. Mr. Fabulous was 17, and he WAS the cat's meow - we miss him! It seemed to me like our new Birthday Cheer bundle, from the upcoming Spring Occasions Catty, was PERFECT for this theme! The bundle includes a sa-weet set of edgelits to go with - I've shown the cupcakes today! I kept this card bright and simple - and I love this combo of Poppy Parade, Coastal Cabana and Mango Melody! The cupcakes were super easy: I ran a strip of black though with the edgelit, glued it down over my white background, and then colored in the spaces with my Stampin' Write markers - so quick! So excited about this week's "resist" technique challenge at Back to Basics & Beyond #18! For me, when I think of resist, I think of sponge daubing over heat-embossed images - this creates such a softly colored look. For the first time, I decided to try it over a metallic emboss - usually I do it over white. I get to break in another new stamp set, too - the gorgeous All That You Are floral set - it's beautiful! And I love the sentiments in it - very gracious! I went all pastel on this one, and I love the look of the gold, too. Can't wait to try coloring this one in with markers, too!
