Ooo, pretty!  AAA Cards Challenge #270 has an ombre element in it, too!
I decided to go for some DSP to carry my ombre for me this time - I'm not that great at ink blending yet - but I'm getting there!  This pretty sheet from the Bright & Beautiful pack looked nice and ocean-y to me, so I pulled in a single pretty sand dollar, and added a few Opal Rounds for some gentle shine.  I think my entrenched addiction to embellishments will always be the despair of CAS challenges, but I can never seem to stop myself!  Anyway, I love the clean look of the finished card here - I can almost smell the ocean breeze!

Penguin Slimline

Oh gosh, we have a tough one at this round's Retro Rubber #236 - a slimline sketch!  I don't make a lot of these!
It took me a while to think my way through this one, AND I've been on a bit of a Christmas kick, lol.  I've been looking at my Penguin Place set for a week now and decided NOW is his time!  A cute little guy sliding along his snowy hill is just the thing for a landscape slimline!  I even fussy cut a sentiment to fit in the remaining space, lol, look at me go!  AND I still have the Penguin Playmates DSP! Wee!
I can't wait to see your slimlines, too - and don't forget to make it RETRO!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, from Make My Monday #231, is to color, in any medium!  Yay!
I'm excited that I have the chance to work in my new Christmas bundle for this one - introducing the Sophisticated Sled bundle!  This gorgeous classic Christmas set has a lovely sled image, along with some fancy skates, a wreath and a swag - all with amazing dies, too, of course!  You can even build a diecut sled if you don't feel like stamping (shh!)  I paired my sled up with the gorgeous Season of Green & Gold DSP, and got to work coloring all my details with my beloved Blends Markers - love them so much!  I finished with this sweet sentiment, and some Cherry Cobbler "berries" - just the right touch!
I can't wait to see YOUR coloring projects, too - meet you at the challenge!
Sophisticated Sled Stamp Set; Season of Green & Gold DSP; Very Vanilla & Pecan Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pecan Pie, Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive Blends Markers; Sophisticated Sled & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Cherry Cobbler Berries; #MMM231.

Seaside Vacation

Oh so fun!  I'm loving this round's theme at Time Out Challenge #268 - "on vacation!"
I can't help but think of the seaside when I think vacation these days - Seaside Wishes to be exact, lol!  To get me started I pulled a nice "wave" sheet from the Bright & Beautiful DSP pack, and went to town on sand dollars, starfish, and a little seaweed for decoration, lol.  I love these calm ocean colors!  I finished with a few Opal Rounds, too - just the right amount of shimmer!  Salt water heals all wounds, right?

Summer  Garden

Such a fun theme this round at Shopping Our Stash #526 - "summer!"
When I was a kid, working in the garden was our MAJOR summer job.  At a certain point, we harvested every day, and it was a lot, lol.  My grandpa was a genius at planting our big quarter acre for big production, and he had our dirt floor basement all decked for storage for the winter, too - good times!  Tomato canning week was endless, lol.  Anyway, I got to borrow my friend Sarah's Filled With Fun bundle to try (!!), AND I had a bunch of veggies left over from my Summer Fun class last week, so a wagon of veggies was just what I needed to help with my stash!  I might have to pick up this bundle after all, now, darn it!

Woo hoo!  FarmQuest Challenge #56 was MADE for me here in Arizona!  The theme this round is for things found in a desert or dry land!
You KNOW I had to go straight to my totally adorable Musical Jamboree set, right?  Nothing says desert like a banjo-playing coyote!  I love this guy, lol.  It was so fun to also bring back my Flowering Cactus DSP - this saguaro sheet is my all-time favorite from this pack, and makes for the perfect backdrop for his jam session!  I finished with a few night stars, too!  Yay!
Musical Jamboree Stamp Set; Flowering Cactus & Mint Macaron DSP; Basic White & Mossy Meadow CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler & Smoky Slate Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Adhesive Backed Stars; #FQCB56.

Check out the new sketch at Sketch Saturday #755 - seems like a lot going on!  How to tame this one?
I decided to focus on the papers, lol - how many could I get on there and still keep it calm enough??  AND throw in Christmas in July??  Yes, please!  I just happen to have a newly-acquired stash of our old Dashing DSP (from 2006!) that fits the bill!  And adding in the Nested Essentials dies really broke down the sketch for me!  I layered on some hexagons vertically over another striped pattern, and I love all the designs together!  I finished with a lovely sentiment from our new Online Exclusive Greetings of the Season, and tucked on a tiny two-step tree from Iconic Imagery over that.  Perfect!  A few Gilded Gems add a bit of sparkle for the season!

Bird's Eye Thanks

Oo, one of my favorite kind of challenges!  This month's The Male Room #188 is all about animals!  Yay!
I decided to stick to current sets today, and one I don't use too often is Bird's Eye View - these guys are so fun to color!  I did a little pair of them, with an extra studious one on the book stack, in muted manly colors.  This thanks sentiment from Sweetly Scripted worked perfectly!  After some fussy cutting, I finished with a few tiny first-run Misty Moonlight Dots, and I did up my envelope flap in first-run DSP, too.  I also experimented with using the color lifter behind the glasses for a more faded look there - sometimes I don't even color that in, lol, but I'm happy I tried this, too!

We have my favorite kind of layered sketch for you to play this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #443!
This sketch seems to just cry out for some gorgeous DSP to show off, and I am happy to oblige!  One of our stunning new Online Exclusive suites is Golden Greenery, and it has it all!  DSP, stamps, dies, embellies - just beautiful!  The DSP is especially pretty, with lovely gold foil accents!  I showed off a few of them for you today, including a sheet that has shapes that fit the dies!  I LOVE that!  I matched it with our wonderful new Greetings of the Season stamp set, and foolishly didn't think to show off the amazing tag dies that come with THAT - I was pretty stuck on our sketch shapes, lol.  Soon!
I can't wait to see what YOU make of our sketch this round - meet you at the challenge!
Greetings of the Season Stamp Set; Season of Green & Gold DSP; Very Vanilla & Old Olive CS; Old Olive Ink; Golden Greenery Dies; Cherry Cobbler Berries; #HSS443.

So glad I still have time to slip into this month's Critter Crazy Challenge #88!
Looking over my critter shelves, I decided I haven't inked up my old Nine Lives set in far too long!  Such a cutie, I went with my striped cat today:  I think this Smoky Slate over Crumb Cake looks a little tortoiseshell!  I couldn't resist pulling my old Playful Pets DSP for it - I've used a lot of the dog sheets in that one, but still have plenty of cat details to use!  This texty-kitty background was just right!  I gave him a little cat dish, and popped up my favorite sentiment to go with.  So handsome!
