It seemed only fitting that the sweet treat for my ladies at our Countdown Kisses class also used the Petal Card Double Punch - the same one that made all the little doors for our countdown calendar. I stuck two together with glue dots, and added a cute Valentine greeting on the front, plus a taffeta knot, and had the perfect pocket for a heart-shaped Dove chocolate! Yummy! Real Red & Whisper White CS; Petal Card Double Punch; Gift Givers stamp set; Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon; Real Red marker.

When I saw this card by Amy Gehman on Mary Fish's Stampin' Pretty blog, I knew I had to recreate it! What a blast of color! I need to do a lot of re-stocking on birthday cards, what a way to start! Be sure to check out Amy's other lovely work! Whisper White, Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, Perfect Plum, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party & Daffodil Delight CS and inks; Create a Cupcake stamp set; Cupcake Builder punch. Here's a lovely and simple card I CASed from Mary Brown of Stamper Camper fame! Her color combo just called to me, and combining the two In-Color families is brilliant! I think this will be Bug's V-Day card! Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade inks and CS; Ruffled Ribbon in Calypso Coral; Brad from Everyday Enchantments (SAB); Candy Conversations stamp set. Here's a cool idea I CASed from Trina Kuringer - brilliant! The color blocks are actually made from a scrap shape leftover from the frame in the SAB Elementary Elegance, and the bottom and envelope (NO NAKED ENVELOPES!) are highlighted with a Fresh Vintage stamp, which has rhinestone accents for a touch of bling. I also decided I haven't been using Very Vanilla enough lately - need to expand my color horizons! Very Vanilla CS; Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Peach Parfait & Daffodil Delight inks, Elementary Elegance (SAB) and Fresh Vintage (SAB) stamp sets. Just a quick note to get tonight's class sheet out there! Enjoy!
When I saw this tutorial by Brenda Quintana of Qbee's Quest, I was absolutely smitten! What a perfect use for the Petal Card punch! And another chance to clear out some retired DSP - yay! Now that bug is "too big" for school Valentines, I know I really need to bring it at home, so I thought this Countdown Kisses Calendar would be perfect! I've gotten a real work-out this week on my new Framelits dies, thanks in part to this project! Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Riding Hood Red CS; Red Gliiter Specialty DSP; Washington Apple DSP (retired); Framelit Hearts; Small Heart punch; Take It To Heart, P.S. I Love You and Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp sets; basic silver brads; Riding Hood Red 3/8" taffetta and pleated satin ribbons. Oh my gosh, I can't believe how awesome these roses come out, that have petals made with the ornament punch! I wish, too, that I could take the credit for these brilliant beauties, but they are totally CASed from fellow demo Laura Haffke at La Dee Dah - she generously posts an awesome video at her blog, and uses them for the most faboo purses ever! My trio are Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White sponged with Regal Rose ink, and Barely Banana (retired) sponged with Calypso Coral ink. Yum, yum! Finally! I can share the "big picture" of next week's class with you all! As you can see, we will make a new insert for our shadow box, and two cards, both presented to you with a Valentine's flair! You'll be able to swap out the sentiments if there's something else that suits better, but it was hard to not get swept in the moment! Let me know if you plan on coming, so I can make sure to prep supplies for you! Wednesday, 1/18, 6:30 pm, $20 |
