I don't tackle color challenges too often without a sketch, so I stewed over this one for a bit, I have to admit, Then I realized, my sister-in-law has a July 4 birthday - I can go with that!  Love this blocky sketch from Retro Rubber #65 - lots of scope, lol... For today's blast from the past, I pulled out my beloved Soft Summer set, all the way from our 2009 Spring Mini catty. When this set came out, I was instantly smitten - growing up in Virginia and West Virginia, we always had dogwood trees in our yard so gorgeous, and so iconic - I had to have them! I never see these beauties here in Arizona - just too hot to thrive, though I hope to one day try to cultivate a little one in a big pot that I can protect with careful watching... These sweet blossoms also got a touch of my carefully hoarded Blush Blossom ink - made for each other! Such a pretty and buttoned-up sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #327 this week! As I studied this sketch, I suddenly realized that I could trot out the only remaining image that I HAVEN'T used yet from the saucy Crafting Forever set - bring on the paintbrushes! I love this set for the coloring possibilities, and the perfect little sayings that go with every image. I tried to keep things in the Brights family color-wise, to satisfy an optional color challenge that's part of the sketch challenge - I think this might be the first time I've included that, lol. Anyway, I hoarded this bright sheet of dots from our old Painted Blooms DSP just for the stamp set, I think - so perfect! I had to move my candy dots up onto the white areas so they would show!
