We've got our eye on you with this classic sketch here at As You See It #302! Today felt like a coloring day to me, so I looked for images that I could get my Blends on, lol. I realized that I haven't yet used the bench image in Coffee With Friends - today is the day! I kept my card pretty basic, and focused on all that coloring! I ran a strip of retired Granny Apple Green DSP behind my circle to bring on a touch of the outdoors to go with the image, and had some fun with my markers! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our sketch this round - meet you at the challenge! Coffee With Friends Stamp Set; Granny Apple Green DSP (retired); Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; SU100, SU500, SU700, Pebbled Path, Basic Black, Granny Apple Green, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, Night of Navy & Cherry Cobbler Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins; #AYSI302. Lol, Time Out Challenge #241 would like to see something funny this round - I'm on it! I didn't spot anything current that really grabbed me, so off to the Shelves of Retirement for me! I eventually landed on one of my oldest sets: 2005's Fashion Statements! I still love the images AND sentiments in this one - really unique, lol. And today's is one of my favorites! Who doesn't love coloring bras every color of the rainbow? And since my Patchwork Pieces dies came in today, they got to play, too! This one always makes ME laugh, anyway, lol... Fashion Statements Stamp Set (retired 2005); Basic White, Basic Black, Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie & Poppy Parade CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie & Poppy Parade Blends Markers; Patchwork Pieces & Stylish Shapes Dies; Iridescent Rhinestones; #TOC241. Christmas Craft Creations would like us to heat emboss for their June challenge! Since the challenge called for the embossing to be the focus, I knew I had to pull out a major stamp, lol. I finally went with one of the first stamps I ever purchased from Our Daily Bread Designs, forever ago, maybe 2012? It's such a focal image, I actually haven't used it much, but it's perfect for showing off heat embossing here! I embossed in Gold over Shaded Spruce, and layered over our Distressed Gold Specialty Paper - love this stuff! I kept things pretty tight and finished with a few Gold Swirls. I think it says all we need here! I finally figured out how to take my picture at an angle to catch the shine of the emboss, too! ODB Joy Tree (2012?); Basic White, Distressed Gold Specialty & Shaded Spruce CS; Versamark Ink; Gold EP; Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls; #CCCJune2023. Pumpkin Club July 1! We have some summer fun inspiration for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments #417! Well, I took a funny turn with this one, lol. I was most struck by the top two images in our medley - I have had ice cream on the brain SO BAD lately, lol. All I could think of was walking on the sand, polishing off a big boardwalk cone, with the sand between my toes! So that's what I ended up doing! I couldn't resist my Share a Milkshake dies for me cone, and I turned to the still-gorgeous Friends Are Like Seashells set for my starfish and beach. A handy sheet of the also-retired By The Bay DSP was the perfect backdrop to dress up, too! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on this fun summery scene - meet you at the challenge! Friends Are Like Seashells (retired 2023); By The Bay DSP (retired); Basic White, Night of Navy, Sahara Sand (retired), Very Vanilla & Early Espresso CS; Sahara Sand (retired), Early Espresso & Cherry Cobbler Inks; Blender Pen; Share a Milkshake, Seaside Seashells (retired) & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Night of Navy Baker's Twine; Faux Sea Glass Shapes (retired); #HSS417. Another fun combo out at In{k}spire Me #508 - check out all the new colors together! I wanted to try for both sides of the challenge, of course, and decided to go with Circle Sayings to get me started! Not an oval, but still, it works! I pulled in this sentiment from Happy Labels to go with, so I chose the seashells for my images - the beach is always a happy place for us! I worked out how I'd get all the colors in, too - I even still have some of the original release DSP in Lemon Lime Twist! In what has to be a first for me, I realized that these loose stripes worked better than polka dots - I can't believe it! I couldn't resist fussy cutting some tiny shells for the bottom of the sketch, and finishing with some coordinated embellies, too. So fun! Circle Sayings & Happy Labels Stamp Sets; Lemon Lime Twist DSP; Basic White, Pecan Pie, Lemon Lolly & Bubble Bath CS; Pecan Pie Ink; Blender Pen; Bubble Bath Blends Marker; 2 3/8" Circle Punch; Pink Sequins; Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon (from the Duo Pack!); #IMC508. I'm loving our slimline-esque sketch at this round's Sunday Stamps #312! I usually avoid slimlines - envelopes are a bit problematic, and, So. Much. Real Estate. Lol. It has always seemed like a lot of space to fill, is all, though of course one could adjust the dimension. I was determined to get through it today, though! I started with DSP, since I knew I'd be making a custom envelope. I chose a retired pack since I needed a BIG piece, lol. From there, I chose my longest and skinniest stamp, lol, which happened to be this quote of Psalm 84, from Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection 6. Whew! From there I had some space to fill, so I constructed this sun and shield using dies - we need an awesome sun set, don't you think? I can't wait to see YOUR projects with our fun sketch this round - what are your slimline tricks? ODB Scripture Collection 6; Friendly Hello DSP (retired); Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Cross of Hope, Golf Club & Smooth Sailing Dies (all retired); 1" Circle Punch; Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon; #SSC312. With great timing, Cardz 4 Guyz #324 is all for Father's Day - yay! I actually have most of my new man sets out in a Man Card class right now, so I went to the shelves, and pulled my still current He's All That set - great dies go with this one, and I still have a bit of the awesome coordinating He's The Man DSP, too! I pulled out the barbecue sheet - in our house, hubby rules the grill, lol, and I even found a DSP diecut of this little flaming grill, not that our ever has flares like that, lol. So fun! I had some old Cajun Craze Linen Thread in a drawer that went perfectly, AND I even pulled out the stops and added some grill tools I made with our old Apron Builder Dies from 2019! These sets were made for each other! I put a quick Happy Dad Day inside from last year's Happy & Heartfelt, too! He's All That & Happy & Heartfelt (retired 2022) Stamp Sets; Basic White, Sahara Sand (retired), Early Espresso & Silver Foil CS; He's The Man DSP (retired); Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; All That & Apron Builder (retired) Dies; Cajun Craze Linen Thread (Come to Gather Combo-retired); #C4G324. Nice - GREAT summer theme at this round's AAA Cards #242 - everything beach! I couldn't resist pulling out Seaside View from 2021 for this one - you know me, it's all about the loafing! I kept my image really pared down, but did a little fussy cutting to add some depth over a lightly blended background. I popped up this beautiful sentiment, and finished with some gulls to watch, and tiny pieces of pretty beach glass. Just the perfect day, if you ask me! Seaside View Stamp Set (retired 2021); Basic White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Crumb Cake & Pool Party Inks; Blender Brushes; Pool Party, Crumb Cake & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Seasonal Labels Dies (retired); Faux Sea Glass Shapes (retired); #AAA242. Aw, this is a sweet one - The Flower Challenge #81 would like us to use our favorite flower! My favorite flower is the tulip, I think - they can come in so many colors! Hands down, the bright and flamboyant parrot tulip is my absolute fave, but I don't have any images of those, lol. So I settled on my favorite tulip stamp set still, 2018's Tranquil Tulips. I love the 3D quality this 2-step stamp set has, and I was thrilled to try it in our new Bubble Bath pink, too - lovely! I added all the trimmings of stems, leaves and a few muscari in Fresh Freesia - my grandma always grew these together! This lovely Numbers quote from Courage & Faith was the perfect sentiment to go with, and I finished with some Brass Butterflies. Love how fresh it all looks! Tranquil Tulips (retired 2018) & Courage & Faith Stamp Sets; Granny Apple Green DSP; Basic White & Bubble Bath CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green, Bubble Bath & Fresh Freesia Inks; Ovals Collection Dies; Brass Butterflies; #TFC81. The Male Room #175 would like us to make a shaker card for them this round! To start this one off, I began by hunting out all my little stashes of likely shaker material, lol. When I came across my old Sequins For Everything collection, I knew I wanted to do the orange-ish one, and I finally settled on Brewed For You to go with! I wanted to see what a tall and foamy would look like in Wild Wheat, too - looks pretty good, I think! I'm really happy with my shaker window - having that little cut out let me trace my "well" directly on the background - made it SO much easier to place my window layer, lol. Fun, fun! Brewed For You Stamp Set; Basic White, Basic Black, Wild Wheat & Pebbled Path CS; Window Sheet; Memento Tuxedo Black, Wild Wheat & Copper Clay Inks; Brewed & Stylish Shapes Dies; Stripes EF; Sequins For Everything (retired); Copper Clay Glossy Dots; #TMR175. |
