We're keeping the summer theme going this round at Retro Rubber #209 - time for your shades! I decided to keep the fruity theme going set my by teammates, lol, and pulled out my still-adored Cute Fruit set from 2021! I love happy fruit, lol. I did my favorites from that set and then couldn't resist an all-over background layer in carefully hoarded Tropical Oasis DSP, showing off some serious tropical fruit! Yum! Love all these bright summer colors! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for kicking off a bright summer ahead - meet you at the challenge! Cute Fruit Stamp Set (retired 2021); Tropical Oasis DSP (retired); Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight & Early Espresso Inks; Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots; #RRCB209.

We're taking things "on the water" for our challenge this round at Make My Monday #203! In celebration of us FINALLY getting our 25+year-old pool refinished, I decided to keep my water close to home - the back yard, in fact, lol. Here in Arizona, having a pool is a slightly necessary evil (I know, 1st world problems, lol.) Even if you don't really want a pool, if you have one, you have to maintain it, ugh. We finally bit the bullet and got it fixed back up - no more crumbling stairs or bench, and a finish that holds its seal - yes! I hope I look this cute later this week when I go test it out, lol - I couldn't resist trying out the other dies in that rogue set I had to have from yesterday - putting them away now, lol... I can't wait to see YOUR water projects this round, too - meet you at the challenge! Happy Labels Stamp Set; Bright & Beautiful DSP; Pool Party, Basic Black, Blush Blossom (retired) & Berry Burst CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Simply Graphic Les Nageuses Dies; Berry Burst Tinsel Gems; #MMM203. Ah, what a great theme for summer at this round's Time Out Challenge #240 - "sportive!" Today I get to try something I almost never do - I'm showing off a set of dies that are NOT SU!, lol. I spotted these beauties at a challenge I played, and I HAD to have them! I was so excited that they arrived in time to make a debut at this challenge - I played with different images than what originally caught my attention. I paper pieced these diving beauties to coordinate with their playful floaties - a little more intricate than I usually see - what fun! It was a natural to pull out Sunny Splash for my sentiment! I was hoping for something sporty, playful and fun - sportive, that is! Sunny Splash Stamp Set (retired 2023); Fresh As a Daisy & retired Real Red, Pacific Point & Mango Melody DSP; Basic White, Real Red & Blush Blossom (retired) CS; Versamark Ink; White EP; Simply Graphic Les Nageuses Dies; Cherry Cobbler Matte Decorative Dots; #TOC240. Lol, Shopping Our Stash #498 would like to "hear it for the boys" this week with their masculine challenge! June is Man Month, right?? I have a very manly taco to present for today's card, and I get to use up some retired DSP at the same time, too! Poppy Parade is perfect for a Taco Fiesta! Anyway, at the last second, I decided to go all topsy-turvy, too, it adds even more fun to this punny card, lol. I love coloring the little images in this one, and fussy cutting adds huge oomph, too... Now, I'm hungry! Taco Fiesta Stamp Set; Poppy Parade DSP (retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green & Lemon Lime Twist Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Black Baker's Twine; Matte Black Dots; #SOS498. Time for another speed challenge at this round's As You See It #301 - and I picked seashells! Start the clock! As I usually do for a speed challenge, I made a lot of design decisions ahead of time, along with my plan of attack, lol, so I could get all my supplies ready. This time, I also mounted all my stamps on individual blocks and set them ready to hand, even! I started by choosing this perfect shell sheet from the now-retired By The Bay DSP that was originally released with the set. Then I got my cardstocks out, and my inks, ready to, along with my Blender Pen and Wink of Stella. I am never so prepared, lol. It all went on rails, except for having to do my sentiment a second time, when Sophie the lab wanted to see what I was doing with the Big Shot, sigh. I also slapped on some Night of Navy Baker's Twine I hadn't set out ahead, but I still had time! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy seashell creations - meet you at the challenge! Seaside Bay Stamp Set; By The Bay DSP (retired); Basic White & Sahara Sand (retired) CS; Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam & Sahara Sand (retired) Inks; Blender Pen; Clear Wink of Stella; Seaside Bay & Layered Essentials Dies; Night of Navy Baker's Twine; Flat Pearls; #AYSI301. I'm loving AAA Birthday #50's June challenge - I love water color so much! I went a little unusual route this round - it's not too obvious that this one is a birthday card, but I DID put a birthday sentiment inside, I swear, lol. I made this fairly simple card for an elderly friend, who loves scripture, lol. We actually were just talking over Psalm 27, and its good guidance, so this seemed perfect! Birthdays are not for the faint of heart, lol. I first did a color wash on watercolor paper in Berry Burst, and deliberately stamped on an edge where I could see some brush strokes, which might not rock everyone's boat, I know. I then stamped the surrounding fronds directly on the card base, and very carefully water-painted them, finishing with our new Tinsel Gems. I know she's going to love this! Courage & Faith Stamp Set; Basic White & Watercolor Paper CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Berry Burst & Granny Apple Green Inks; Water Painters; Stylish Shapes Dies; Berry Burst Tinsel Gems; #AAAB50. Yay! Time for another NBUS #51 - I ALWAYS have goodies to get out there! Today I couldn't resist finally breaking into my Zoo Crew DSP, that goes with the Zany Zoo bundle. I really haven't done much with this suite yet because I know I'll be playing with it for Critter Class next month, but I can't take it anymore! The DSP is really causing conflicts for me, lol - EVERY SHEET is chock full of adorable busy critters that coordinate with the stamp set, and I don't want to miss out on a single one of them! Somehow, I can't picture ever using any of the awesome black and white patterns on the backs at this point, lol. For today, I did a little collection of the band members for you, belting out the Birthday song! So glad I LIKE fussy cutting! Zany Zoo Stamp Set; Zoo Crew DSP; Basic White & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake Blend Marker; Stylish Shapes Dies; Merry Melody EF; Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon Duo; Parakeet Party Matte Dots; #NBUS51. I love all the fun layers in our landscape sketch this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments #416! I to say, I'm also combining this with a little color challenge I issued to my team, lol - combine any of our newest In Colors with Blackberry Bliss! I think it works with ANY of them, but today I went with Wild Wheat, and I pulled out my preview set of Translucent Florals, too. Our blocky layers are perfect for showing off these color wheel opposites - love it! I layered up some DSP scraps for my background, and featured some flowers and stems on my circle - just right! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for this sweet sketch - meet you at the challenge! Translucent Florals Stamp Set; Fresh As a Daisy & Blackberry Bliss DSP; Basic White, Wild Wheat & Blackberry Bliss CS; Blackberry Bliss, Wild Wheat & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Translucent Florals & Stylish Shapes Dies; Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon; Wild Wheat In Color Dots; #HSS416. Oh yes, I have been WAITING for this day! If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #181 is for purple - my favorite color! Yay! Since we're celebrating purple - at least I am, lol - I wanted to pull in multiple purple! Yum! A great way to do that would be to stack a big old ice cream cone, don't you think? Share a Milkshake to the rescue! I dipped into my still-standing-by retired colors and found a stripey sheet of Rich Razzleberry DSP, so I took my cue from there! I added a touch of Crumb cake, so I could cut a big waffle cone from the awesome Share a Milkshake dies, and then stacked scoops in Rich Razzleberry, Berry Burst & Fresh Freesia. I even finished with a "black cherry" in more Razzleberry, lol. Let's hear it for the purple! Share a Milkshake Stamp Set; Rich Razzleberry DSP; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Fresh Freesia CS; Rich Razzleberry, Berry Burst & Fresh Freesia Inks; Share a Milkshake & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon; Fresh Freesia Opaque Gems; #Cookie181. Oo, I'm getting that new In Color feeling from our challenge this round at Sunday Stamps #311! I decided to play with simple stamps, ink and paper today, and even went for Very Vanilla for my neutral! I hit on the idea of putting together some beautiful stems from our Meadow Dies, and then just adding a "wow" sentiment - when I remembered this sympathy in our Something Fancy bundle, I knew I was set, lol. Very little layering here, except for the stem overlap, and all the calm and sober colors for the occasion. Love it, and happy to have on hand for the moment. I can't wait to see what YOU do with our rich colors this round - meet you at the challenge! Something Fancy Stamp Set; Very Vanilla, Pebbled Path, Boho Blue & Moody Mauve CS; Pebbled Path & Boho Blue Inks; Something Fancy & Meadow Dies; Pebbled Path Glossy Dots; #SSC311. |
