Time to bring the vintage at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #464, and what a great sketch we have for it! I don't have much "vintage" look stuff (maybe an old car, lol?) but I do think of vintage as also having old-fashioned design elements. This big doily shape in our Pattern Party Decorative Masks seems just the thing! I sponged the stencil in Purple Posy - I have a pad I was able to get just before SU! took it offline - I've not had any problems with it yet! I added this little Hello from A Little Lace - I love how long and skinny it is, lol. A simple and pretty card, that's going straight into the mail! I can't wait to see YOUR projects - hope you can join us over at the challenge! A Little Lace Stamp Set; Purple Posy, Basic Black & Whisper White CS; Purple Posy & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Pattern Party Decorative Masks; Black Baker's Twine; Faceted Dots in Purple Post; #TSOT464.

Oo, I see all the colors of the ocean in this week's color challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments #342! These colors gave me a chance to finally try out my new Best Year bundle - most importantly, my Best Plaid Builder dies, though the stamps are great, too, of course, lol. What a great way to combine different colors, and I spent quite a bit of time shifting things around, changing the layers - this might be one where there's too MUCH choice, lol. I started my crafting life as a fiber artist and weaver, so these dies are like coming a perfect circle for me! I foresee many plaid days ahead! Best Year Stamp Set; Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron & Pool Party CS; Bermuda Bay Ink; Best Plaid Builder & Rectangle Stitched Dies; Bermuda Bay Enamel Dots; Absolutely Argyle EF (on envelope); #HSS342. We're going for the triple at this week's Sunday Stamps #234! I couldn't resist pulling out my Cute Fruit set again - I think this set is just so adorable! I really emphasized that today by giving all my yummies little happy faces, too, lol - they just make me grin! I kept it in bright fresh colors, and rounded out with some happy dots for my background - so much fun! I can't wait to see YOUR projects - I sure hope you join us! Cute Fruit Stamp Set; Whisper White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Granny Apple Green & Pumpkin Pie Inks; 7/8" Circle Punch; Large Polka Dots EF (retired); Artistry Blooms Sequins; #SSC234. Now here's an intriguing challenge from Less is More #422 - to use a solid AND an outline on your card - hmm! So, doing a quick search for outlines and solids, I finally settled on Special Someone - I don't use this cute set enough, and I'm happy it carried over, so I better get to it! I haven't even used these hearts before, which are meant to be balloons so I thought I'd feature them, and keep it simple, just for LIM, lol. I like how it came out, and my Poppy Parade is nice and bright! Happy card! Special Someone Stamp Set; Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Poppy Parade Inks; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #LIM422. Oh, good times! As You See It #228 is offering up another one of their "potpourri" challenges - let's take the plunge! I have to admit, when I was looking over our "recipe," and spotted the "repeat images" ingredient, my mind IMMEDIATELY went to our new Nothing's Better Than set - you can never have too many cookies, chocolates or coffees, lol. Today's winner? COOKIES! I JUST managed to squeeze in all the elements, and I might be skirting the edge with my one little scrap of DSP behind my sentiment, lol. Still, I'm thrilled with how this card came out, and my "because adulting is hard" sentiment is perfect for the inside, lol. I can already see the expression on my friend's face when she opens this card! Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set; Crumb Cake DSP scrap; Whisper White, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso & Crumb Cake Inks; Love You More Than Dies; Magenta Madness Baker's Twine; Magenta Madness Enamel Dots; #AYSI228. Oo, check out the cute sketch at this week's Retro Rubber #137! They're also teaming up with Double Trouble #59, and I think I might be able to manage this, too! When I saw that triangle, I have to say, my thoughts went straight to "Christmas Tree," lol. I also have to say, my beloved Peaceful Pines set from 2015 was already calling me, too! I dug out some simple but Festive Papers from my old Night Before Christmas pack, added a few embellies, and I think I actually did it ALL - first time ever, I think! Love this classy look for the Christmas card, too! Woo hoo! Peaceful Pines Stamp Set (retired 2015); Night Before Christmas DSP (retired); Very Vanilla & Mossy Meadow CS; Old Olive Ink; Perfect Pines Dies; Very Vanilla Baker's Twine; Gold Hoop Embellishment; Gold Pearls; #RRCB137; #DT59. Oo, such pretty soft colors at this week's In{k}spire Me #423 combo! But maybe I'm just feeling the sketch this week... Yup, definitely not up for the pastels today, lol. I'm excited to debut another new set, though, Walk in the Woods! This cute little hedgehog will round out our critters class next month, and I like his little toadstool landscape just as much, lol. I did some masking for this one, and experimented with using blends for my coloring - I think maybe aqua-painting would be the way to go in future for this one, but I do still love this little guy! Such a cutie! Walk in the Woods Stamp Set; Wood Texture DSP; Whisper White, Early Espresso & Sahara Sand CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Old Olive, Granny Apple Green,Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Cinnamon Cider, Cajun Craze & Real Red Blends Markers; Rectangle Stitched Dies; #IM423. I hope I can "make a splash" with our cool sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #463 - that would go great with our "summer" theme at SU Only 252! For me, this year, my summer thoughts seem to be all about the beach, I guess because I can't get there these days, lol. It's so funny, I never thought of myself as a beach person - give me a mountain and a river any time, lol, but this year I just have beach brain in the worst way! I couldn't help but go back to my Whale of a Time DSP for a lovely ocean background, and I combined it with our Make a Splash stamp set, a just-retired hostess set. See how perfect the sentiment is?? Woo! I can't wait to see YOUR projects at either or both challenges this week - show me your stuff! Make a Splash Stamp Set; Whale of a Time DSP; Whisper White, Shaded Spruce & Honeybee CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red Blends Marker; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #TSOT463; #SUOC252. Very cool - The Male Room #138 has a SKETCH this week - love that! So I guess I'll just continue my critter preview theme here, lol, and introduce Way to Goat! I think this could be a great one for a guy, lol. I picked this compact little guy for my goat, and put a birthday sentiment on the inside (you old goat, lol.) Then I couldn't resist putting a few cans around the place, too. It just makes me laugh, what else can I say?? I also fell into the scrambled layers by accident - as I cut stuff for the card, and threw them over in a little pile, I really liked how they looked all turned out of order, so I kept that, too. Very goat-esque, as well! Way to Goat Stamp Set; Flowers For Every Season DSP; Whisper White, Balmy Blue, Real Red & Gray Granite CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Smoky Slate Inks; Gray Granite, Smoky Slate & Real Red Blends Markers; Banner Triple Punch; #TMR138. I'm so excited that I got to pick the cover for this week's The Library Challenge #62 - and I chose the gorgeous The Moon Spinners by Mary Stewart! Forget the Disney movie, and read the book! I just KNEW I'd be trying to recreate this gorgeous midnight sea scene, and I of course went straight to my Waterfront set - I really can't remember life without ALL these awesome scenery building sets, but Waterfront remains first and best, lol. I had to update the cedar stands for palm trees, but I still love it! I made a gorgeous ombre background with our new Misty Moonlight, too - how apt is that?? I might have gone a little overboard with my sparkly speckles, but it's still so pretty, sigh... I can't wait to see YOUR projects with this gorgeous book cover inspiration - I hope you can come play at my challenge! See you there! Waterfront Stamp Set; Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Misty Moonlight, Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; Shimmer White EP; Thank You Die (retired); Sponge Brayer; #TLC062. Pumpkin Club June 27!
