I'm going to add in As You See It #203's intriguing color challenge, too - and try to pick my favorite colors to wear, lol! So, I decided to actually go and check my closet, lol - and I was surprised by the amount of red I had in there - I don't think of myself as someone who wears red a lot, but apparently that has changed while I wasn't looking, lol. Anyway, I figured this was the perfect chance to break in my new Garden Goodness set (who here didn't know I'd be getting that one ASAP??) - check out those adorable cherry tomatoes! I actually have sprays of cherry tomatoes coming in right now that look JUST like this - on a volunteer plant that came up through the artichokes. Even as a volunteer, it's the most productive tomato I have right now, go figure. Next year, I'm putting artichokes in with the tomato bed on purpose, lol...  Time for another ultra clean and simple challenge from AAA #143 - this time a one corner layout, with an option for flowers! I decided to browse through some old Paper Pumpkin sets for this one - I'm being a bit slow in getting too many of our lovely new flowers sets this year, lol. But, when you have a beauty like the 2016 Paper Pumpkin bonus set All About Everything, it's kind of hard to be too sad, lol. I come back to this one again and again - I love the scribble effect for the flowers and details, and the gorgeous fonts in all the sentiments, too - it always makes such happy cards! This week's Library Challenge #36 of The Rainbow by DH Lawrence is both a bit racy, AND epic, lol. Might have to revisit this one for a summer read! As soon as I saw this cover, I KNEW I wanted to use Silhouette Scenes - perfect for these images! The only problem I ended up having is that all the figure face the same direction, lol, so I adapted as well as I could. I was able to sneak in some of the yellow color for my card base - this is the last So Saffron note set leftover from an old SAB bundle - waste not, want not! The card design is super simple, but it does remind me of this crazy book cover - pretty cool! I really couldn't resist pulling out the See a Silhouette DSP again for these layers - I'm in "lurve!" So bold and brilliant, such great combos, this time I used the girl on the swing from Silhouette Scenes to go with. All the images are just so gorgeous and dynamic - I added just a tiny touch of the tree branch die for her to swing from to. And wouldn't you know, the colors in the DSP are perfect for the Noble Peacock Rhinestones collection - so fun to have new colors to play with! So, what will YOU create? Oo, excellent challenge at this week's The Male Room #113 - a cooking or baking theme! I know my sweetie is a master griller - that boy can cook! This card is kind of a joke about something that happened here recently - a neighbor had a little trouble with a grill fire next door while we were out in the pool, and hubby ran over to help calm the inferno real quick - I've been teasing him ever since, lol. I figured I would use the Apron of Love for this card, but then I got the idea to use the Everyday Hero set, and gave him a grill toll instead, lol. We all need a grill hero sometimes! So cute, lol... So, I don't have a VW bus stamp, but I do have Beautiful Ride from back in 2016, and I figured I could make a pretty sweet hippie ride from that, too - and I even kind of went for the sketch, too, using my die-hard "any shape" philosophy, lol. I stamped the bug first on the card base, and colored in the wheels and windows with Blends. Then I stamped it again on some white scrap, and went to town with all my colors and some sponge daubers, for a tie-dye effect. I think it actually didn't come out too bad! Then it was down to super careful fussy cutting of the bug car body, which I pop-dotted over my first layer. A quick sentiment underneath and we're done! Far out, man! Oh wow, The Library Challenge #35 has a GREAT cover this week with To The Lighthouse - such great design in this cover! I'm adding in SU Only #225's die-cutting challenge as well - perfect! As soon as I saw this cover I knew I was pulling out my old Sunburst die - it's perfect! This cover also looks just like some yummy SU! colors, too, lol, so I just went with a pretty straight-forward CASE of it - I'm excited to use our new lighthouse from the Sailing Home suite as well! This beauty really pops with some touch-ups from a blender pen, I've found. I added a few details from the cover, and some touches of gold to approximate the yellow, and we are set! Yay! It's time for our annual new In Color celebration at this week's Fab Friday #166! Like most of you, I actually DON'T have the Purple Posy ink pad yet - oh, bother! While I'm always grateful for the care that our Mother Ship takes of us, I have to say, that color is the one I have been featuring the most in paper, lol. So I figured, let's do a "color gamp" in all the card stocks, check them out side by side, and just blow those stamp pads off! I figured our sweet little puzzle pieces were perfect for the job, and I layered 4 together to add dimension. I was even able to finish with our Woven Threads Sequins, which are all our In Colors, too! Halleluiah! I've been wanting In Color sequins since we first started doing sequins, lol. It's gonna be a great two year ride with these beauties - I just know it! So, what do YOU have for us? I can't wait to see, over at the challenge!
