 Another gorgeous color combo at this week's Fab Friday #182 - we're going coastal! So, as much as I like these colors, they were tough for me to work with, lol. I finally took a little inspiration from a card pictured in the Spring Mini (on page 65, for inquiring minds that want to know, lol) and came up with this. I'm a little on the fence about it. In some ways I wish I had turned it portrait-wise, and made some kind of play on a sunset. On the other hand, I always have fun messing around with our sponge brayers... I did a quick emboss with our Coastal Weave folder (hm, should have DE-bossed, sigh) and added this nice bold admonishment over it all. Yes, those are tiny black rhinestones dotting the I's - I couldn't bear to layer up the tiny dots with the rest of the words, lol. So, what will YOU have for us this week?  Look at these fun inspirations from this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments #331! I couldn't help but focus on that sweet wintry mug in the inspiration pics - and I happen to have a beloved mug stamp set that I still can't bear to part with - 2017's Hug in a Mug is still so adorable! I set up three toasty mugs on a pretty shelf, festive, but not necessarily Christmas-y, and this warming sentiment - just the thing for a cool Winter's day or night! While this set has lovely two-step fill-in stamps for coloring, I found it so much more satisfying to bring on the Blends Markers for some pretty color combos - I can never seem to get enough of these markers! I've been wanting to play with this one for a while - there are so many fishbowl scenes in my head, lol! Today I stuck with this slightly shell-shocked looking guy, and gave him my favorite Dory quote, too. Total cuteness! I almost diecut it with a circle, but I really felt like fussy cutting, soooo... I had to do a pretty major search for some DSP to put behind it - I finally settled on the Crumb Cake sheet from the Perfectly Artistic pack - I don't know HOW old this paper is, a few years at least, lol. I did a nice strip of Crumb Cake along the bottom for my tire tracks and added some linen twine along the top because it still just looked bare to me. Still, I like it! So what will YOU create? I pulled from my stack of newbies again today - this time I went for these gorgeous ginkgos in the Beautifully Braided set. I picked a pretty sentiment to shelter under the leaves, and colored everything in with my two tones of Mango Melody Blends - super simple, super fast! And pretty to boot! Sometimes I find color challenges to be tough going, and today was definely one of those days, lol. I finally settled on our gorgeous Modern Heart set, and I colored the heart all funky-fun with a few of our colors. I love all the sentiments in this one, too, and I was glad to feature this loving one to go with the heart. Keeping my eyes peeled for anything with "love" in it, I quickly sussed out our new Outdoor Barbecue set - this is for a future man card class in May, lol. But how hilarious as a love card now?? I'm so on it, AND I think this is hubby's Valentine from me, lol. So perfect!  Today I am honored and thrilled to guest design at my beloved CAS on Friday #172 - and it's a get well theme! Yay! I always start out by browsing the stamp shelves for likely candidates, and today I realized I haven't used my Dandelion Wishes in quite a while - I so love the images in this set, and the font used for the sentiments is so cheerful! I kept things as CAS as I could for the ladies, but I didn't resist very hard at putting threee teensy sequins to go with the wishes, lol. Retro Rubber #126 is back for their first challenge of 2020 with a winter theme - we have missed you guys!! When I saw the theme, I knew right away I wanted to pull out my beloved White Christmas set from 2014 - gosh, I still love this set just as much as I ever did, lol. This little tree-scape just can't be beat, and having a couple critters or birds to add is just so fun! I kept this really paired down - I really wanted to try and make a Winter card that ISN'T a Christmas card, don't ask me why! I added some snowy glitter, a couple cardinals, and this lovely sentiment from our Peaceful Moments set, which of course goes great with our new Stitched So Sweetly dies - another new fave, lol. Love how this came out!
