So, do you detect a little theme going on at my desk this week? That's right, this is the Paper Pumpkin Clean Out around here! My resolution? To do my usual round of sketches, and ONLY use Paper Pumpkin - no more hoarding! It's my new-catalog-is-coming resolution! When I saw this week's Sunday Stamps #46 - I wasn't sure I could keep my resolution - could I really make the pieces work? Yes! Especially when you consider the leftover pieces, too - this sketch was PERFECT for that! April 2013 Paper Pumkpin - Seriously; Regals DSP on envelope, More Mustard. The Bloomin' Bouquet Project Kit! Mother's Day. Teacher appreciation. Just because. Say thank you with this no-maintenance bouquet. There's no watering, no weeding-just enjoying. This easy-to-assemble kit comes complete with the petals, stems, and buttons to create the flowers, as well as four different tags to make this the perfect gift for any occasion. All you need is some paper, ribbon or a vase to add the finishing touches to the bouquet. As if that weren't enough, the kit contains a "baker's dozen"! This means you can create and give (or keep) a dozen flowers, and have a bonus flower left over to pass along to someone new! Give it to someone you wouldn't normally think of: a teller at the bank, a grocery store clerk, or the librarian at your local library. Anyone you encounter on your way that you'd like to give a little "thank you" to! Ordering information: Item 134542 $12.95 Available starting April 29, while supplies last. Kit contents:

As soon as I saw the sketch for Fab Friday #17, I thought of our latest Paper Pumpkin kit - "Seriously." Here's where I point out that I did NOT name this post "Fabulous Booty" when I could have! Heee... I know the tag shape was just a suggestion, but, well, the kit actually HAS tags in it - how could I resist? Buttons, too, it's like they made this sketch with the kit in mind, IMHO! Now if only I could bring myself to use the other sentiment from the kit. It's a bit too weird even for me! ("Love your guts"?? Who talks like that?) April 2013 Paper Pumpkin-Seriously; More Mustard CS; Not Quite Navy ink. Envelope: Designer Typeset stamp set; Not Quite Navy, More Mustard & Old Olive inks. For this week's Clean & Simple #238, I knew I wanted to use some more paper from the This and That Epic Day set I got recently - especially the honeycomb-map! Too cool! What better to go with a map than a compass? It turned into a quick little note of encouragement, and not too blingy - sometimes I guess Less IS more... The Open Sea & Wishes Your Way stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Pool Party & Whisper White CS; This and That Epic Day DSP; Basic Black, Gumball Green, Pool Party & Calypso Coral inks; self-adhesive Rhinestones. Fellow parishioners already know - we have some pretty big news at St Barnabas this summer - our beloved Rev. Erika has two little ones on the way - EEEEE! As soon as I heard about the plans for a baby(-ies!) shower, I jumped in and begged to do the party favors - I don't get to do enough of those now that we're out of elementary school and in grouchy middle-school, gr. So today was R&D for that - what do you think? I had thought I would just do a take on the cute Easter favors I did recently, but then I remembered some cute onesie cards I did a while ago for someone's thank you's. I thought, can I miniaturize that? Turns out I can! Pretty sure I'll be doing the onesie one, half green and half purple, for variety. Let cuteness abound! Patterned Occasions stamp set; Apricot Appeal (retired), Certainly Celery (about to retire) and Almost Amethyst (retired) CS; Two Tags die; Word Window punch. Yay - another week where I can combine some sketch challenges! This week, I joined the forces of Sunday Stamps #45 and Freshly Made Sketches #83 - a match made in heaven! As is SU's! latest photopolymer set - Bombs Away Birthday - I LOVE it! The sentiments are hilarious - I can tell I'll be using this set quite a bit! PS. Someone tell my hubby I made this card so he chooses the right restaurant for my upcoming dinner out, giggle! NO SINGING! Bombs Away Birthday stamp set; Basic Gray & Very Vanilla CS; This and That Epic Day DSP; This and That Washi Tape; self-adhesive rhinestones. Wow, I really had some fun with this week's Paper Craft Crew Sketch #39! I wanted to pull out my sweet balloons for some last fun times together {SOB-see below} and this sketch was just perfect! I have been LOVING this DSP as well - so versatile and cheery! Make sure to go check out the other creations by our fabulous artists! Up, Up & Away stamp set; Marina Mist & Whisper White CS; Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP; Marina Mist 1/4" grosgrain; 1 14" & 1 3/8" Circle punches; Labels Collection framelits; Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight & Tangerine Tango inks; Festive piercing pack; self-adhesive rhinestones. So, alas, the first day we've been waiting for is here (the second day is the new catty, of course!) - the retirement lists are out! I've got two lists for you: go here for the retired stamps, and here for retired accessories. As always, all items are while supplies last, so make sure to get what you can't live without while you still can! And check over the accessories list carefully - some great sale prices on there! As usual for this time of year, my stampin' studio looks like an attack of the polka dot monster - that's how I mark my retiring sets - with a sticky dot - sigh... Argh! I see a stamp sale in our future, ladies! Well, it's been a rough week all over, hasn't it? I was feeling a real need for some reassurance, and this quote seems to be just perfect. What a great sketch to add some pretty detail! Thanks so much to Retro Sketches #60 for giving us such lovely inspiration week after week! Secret Garden & ODB Scripture Collection 8 stamp sets; Sahara Sand, Pool Party & Whisper White CS; Sycamore Street DSP; Island Indigo ruffled ribbon; Scallop Circles #2 die; Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party inks; Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. OK, I SERIOUSLY considered calling this post "Clean Booty," giggle... I created this week's Clean & Simple #237 card from the April Paper Pumpkin Kit - Seriously! I do think the sentiments from this kit are pretty cute, so I had to doctor it up a bit to take a stab at a sketch card with it. I think I might give this to Bug in celebration of getting through another year of AIMS testing! Seriously Paper Pumpkin kit, plus Button, Button stamp set; Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive CS; Print Poetry DSP; Bitty Punch Pack. We WILL run again. That's a promise. For Freshly Made Sketch #82. Quint-Essential Flower & ODB Scripture Collection 2; Pool Party & Basic Gray CS; This & That Epic Day DSP; 2 3/8 Scallop Circle & Scallop Circle punches; self-adhesive Rhinestones. What a fun sketch this week from Sunday Stamps #44! And of course, it's by my buddy Kathya Hidalgo, so I HAD to play! So, we all know I couldn't do flowers, since they were actually ON the sketch, so I took a quick browse for a different shape to use. Luckily, my latest Best of set was burning a hole on my desk - solution butterflies! From there I just browsed sets that seemed to match the art of the butterfly I chose - such a sweet layout! Thanks for the fun sketch, Kathya - these butterflies are for you! Apothecary Art, Best of Butterflies & Nature Walk stamp sets; Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Early Espresso & Very Vanilla CS; Black Staz-On, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Tangerine Tango & More Mustard inks; Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon; Elegant Lines embossing folder. |
