Oo, this one might be tough - AAA Cards #247 has "sketch for a teen" challenge this round! I went with Fun On Wheels today, and kept it as simple as I could stand, lol. I first cut a big Stitched Rectangle for some White on White layering - adds a tiny bit of oomph without getting all fancy! I dabbed on some bright color with my Blending Brushes, and stamped this perspective bike over them in Black. After I sat with it for a minute, I went back and stamped the "street map" image on either side, too - very light, in stamped off Smoky Slate. My sentiment went at the bottom per the sketch, and I caved and added 3 Matte Black Dots - I'm so weak about embellies, lol. Fun On Wheels Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Memento Tuxedo Black & Smoky Slate Inks; Blending Brushed; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Matte Black Dots; #AAA247.

Whew, I can JUST barely sneak in to Time Out Challenges #245 - colorful! I couldn't resist inking up my new Pick of the Patch Stamp set, in lots of fun colors! I was smitten when I saw that cute bent gourd, and of course, the builder punch, which I also got to play with! I made a simple layout, over Lemon Lime Twist, which I also used for leaves and tendrils - so fun! I'd love some Blueberry Bushel and Berry Burst pumpkins in MY garden, lol! Pick of the Patch Stamp Set; Lemon Lime Twist DSP; Basic White & Pecan Pie CS; Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight & Pecan Pie Inks; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Pick of The Patch Builder Punch; Yellow Enamel Dots; #TOC245. Don't you just love our vertically layered sketch this round at Retro Rubber #214?? I sure do! Browsing through the Shelves of Retirement, my old Press On set from 2020 caught my eye - love this one! Though it doesn't have dies, it's a fun one to color and simple to fussy cut - lots of straight lines! I even tried my hand at the curvy steam image, so I could cover my card front in yummy coffee DSP, lol. I finished with some Cherry Cobbler punched hearts for a pop of color, and some Classic Matte Dots - super cute! I can't wait to see where you take our Retro sketch this round - meet you at the challenge! Press On Stamp Set (retired 2020); Crumb Cake & Early Espresso DSP; Basic White, Pool Party, Crumb Cake & Cherry Cobbler CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pool Party & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Heart to Heart Punch (retired); Stylish Shapes Dies; Classic Matte Dots; #RRCB214. Yay! We want to see some hobbies this round at Make My Monday #208! Who else picks "card-making"?? OK, OK, lol, one of my OTHER favorite hobbies is baking! And I LOVE to bake for my stampers! This gets me baking at least twice a month, and I try to mix it up - cookies, cupcakes and other fun treats! Best of all, I am a paleo baker, so all gluten and grain-free, low dairy, no artificial sweeteners, and pretty low glycemic, too! We try not to break the bank with the treats around here, lol. So yummy, and so fun to share in class - less for me to eat, too - see how I am?? I can't wait to get a peek at YOUR hobbies this round - meet you at the challenge! Apron of Love Stamp Set (retired 2019); Crumb Cake DSP; Basic White, Early Espresso, Petal Pink, Crumb Cake & Silver Foil CS; Early Espresso, Real Red & Crumb Cake Inks; Apron Builder Dies (retired); Iridescent Sequins; #MMM208. I am THRILLED with Shopping Our Stash #503's new theme - hot, hot, HOT! So perfect for here in Arizona, lol., which way should I go? I decided to try something I've been thinking about for a while, lol. I combined Taco Fiesta with 2019's Bubble Over to make some hot sauce bottles! We always have a selection of 3 or 4 in the fridge here, lol. This sentiment seemed perfect to go with my little trio - I couldn't resist! I used a few different reds, because hot sauce comes in many colors, of course, and tried to play with the labels! And of course, all the lids are black, lol. Feeling a little hungry now... Taco Fiesta & Bubble Over Stamp (retired 2019) Sets; Real Red & Old Olive DSP; Basic White, Basic Black, Wild Wheat & Poppy Parade CS; Poppy Parade, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Real Red, Old Olive & Wild Wheat Blends Markers; Bottles & Bubbles Dies; Matte Black Dots; #SOS503. With a new month, we have a new challenge from If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #183, who wants us to go mainly neon this round! I knew right away when I saw this color challenge that I wanted to use my Stargazing DSP - so many bright colors in that one! I opted for some "neon" planets against a bright solar background sheet, and finished with some tiny silver stars - oops, maybe I should have called this "silver stars," lol. Oh well! I did a set of Blue Foil rings for my medium planet and used my favorite sentiment in Berry Burst. It's bright enough for ME! Reach For The Stars Stamp Set; Stargazing DSP; Basic White, Berry Burst, Blue & Silver Foils CS; Berry Burst Ink; Reach For The Stars & Radiating Stitches Dies; #Cookie183. I really can't think of a better theme than the "at the beach" one we have this round at As You See It#306! And for me, when I think "beach," I will forever be thinking of Maui, which is so much a home away from home for us. It's sadly bittersweet right now, because I also can't help but think of all the tragedy Maui is going through right now with the terrible fires, particularly in Lahaina, with its near-total destruction. Lahaina was always central to our Maui travels, and my heart is so broken for all the lovely people there. I pray for their peace and healing constantly as the situation continues to unfold... The simple scene I created for today's card says everything about this gorgeous and loving island - it truly is and always will be paradise! Paradise Palms Stamp Set (retired 2023); Basic White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight & Granny Apple Green Inks; Pecan Pie & Granny Apple Green Stamp-n-Write Markers; Whale of a Time Sequins (retired); #AYSI306. So pretty - for the August Christmas Craft Creations, they'd like to see something CAS! Clean and simple is really growing on me these days, lol. For this one, I went back to my Gnome For The Holidays set from 2020 - these guys are just the cutest! I tried to not go overboard, but still add a couple extra touches, like my simple layers, and fussy cutting my little mistletoe gnome for a bit of depth. I finished with my last 3 red Wonderful Gems, too - it needed JUST a touch of bling, lol. Gnome For The Holidays Stamp Set (retired 2020); Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green & SU900 Blends Markers; Wonderful Gems; #CCCAugust2023. This looks interesting - The Flower Challenge #83 would like us to also add dots or stripes to our design - cool! I got to try a couple things I've been thinking of lately on this card, lol. First up, I can finally break in my new Dots & Spots die! Such an easy way to add a little something to the whole background, and I decided to tilt my fashion layer a little diagonally on the die, hoping it would make the finished result look a little more random. I think it worked, even though it's a very uniform die! Next, I wanted to try a full triple layer of our Cheerful Daisies dies - it really adds a lot of depth! I chose Lemon Lolly for my flower color, I need to let this color grow on me a little more, I think, lol. Anyway, dots accomplished! Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set; Basic White, Lemon Lime Twist & Lemon Lolly CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pecan Pie, Lemon Lolly & Lemon Lime Twist Inks; Cheerful Daisies & Dots & Spots Dies; Lemon Lime Twist Tinsel Gems; #TFC83. I'm so excited to play these new colors together at Hand Stamped Sentiments #421 - they're so gorgeous together! I turned to Paper Pumpkin for this one - I'm featuring the May 2023 Exploring In Color set! It seemed just right for our trio of colors, and I tried to feature them all in both ink AND paper, lol. I floated a timber-embossed panel of Pecan Pie over Copper Clay, and heat-embossed my sentiment in White over Misty Moonlight - I really like the look of the color blocks together. I chose to do three of the cute camping themed stamps in each color, too - I had to really squeeze things up to get it to fit the way I wanted, lol. I finished with some Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems - yum! I can't wit to see YOUR projects with these fun colors - meet you at the challenge! Exploring In Color Paper Pumpkin; Basic White, Copper Clay, Pecan Pie & Misty Moonlight CS; Copper Clay, Misty Moonlight, Pecan Pie & Versamark Inks; White EP; Blender Pen (on boots); Timber EF; Stylish Shapes Dies; Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems; #HSS421.
