 Ooo, another one-layer challenge at this week's Less Is More #433, and we're making it "festive!" You know, I was so glad that Merry Moose carried over from last year, and then I haven't really used it enough - go figure! I decided with some careful masking, he could be my festive one-layer, tip-toeing through the forest! I kept it VERY sparse, one-layers are SO hard for me, but I added a touch of the festive with some stars on the tree tops, lol. And of course, this sentiment is what it's all about!  Ahh, we're starting to bring in the holidays this week at Sunday Stamps #245 with our festive colors - hope you can join us! With all these good colors to choose from, I couldn't help but back to the gorgeous Peace & Joy set - I love playing with all the little stems and sparklies in this one! I also did a pretty layered sentiment on my die-cut "joy" today - these dies are so easy to fancy up! I added a few rhinestones in my sparklies - gotta bring on the shine for Christmas! Luckily, I have two new stamp sets from our upcoming Sale-A-Bration 2021 that will definitely help me satisfy the "quick" theme - this card took me about 6 minutes - though I spent 10 getting the stamps all mounted, lol. My eye was caught first by this soothing sheet of DSP from our soon-to-be-released Oh So Ombre pack - the Rococo Rose is perfect for my friend. Next up, the gorgeous Corner Bouquet heat embossed in Black Shimmer, along with this loving sentiment from Heal Your Heart. I love the quiet wish I was able to achieve here, and so glad I can remind my friend I'm thinking of her. I combined with my fave Christmas DSP this year, Heartwarming Hugs, and colored away on my little ginger cottage to my heart's content. Adorable! I went shopping on the shelves of retirement, and came up with my beloved Fortunate to Know You set from 2018 - I love all the little fortune cookie sentiments that come with this one, including this cute birthday one! While I was there, I grabbed my equally beloved Gorgeous Grunge from 2013, to add some cookie crumbs for a little background interest, too, lol. This is still my fave grungy set, I have to say! Anyway, I had some fun coloring and snipping my images, and putting together this little tableau. It's funny that this post falls on Thanksgiving, too - who here has Chinese for Thanksgiving? We do, because my mother-in-law's Dad was Chinese, so we always get some crazy sides with our awesome turkey, lol, but she doesn't serve them in a take-away like this! I WISH I had a fun droopy tree image I could use for this one, sigh, but alas, I do not, lol. After I stacked them into my tree shape, I added a few All The Trimmings Embellishments to rev up the "tree" factor, and of course, floated the swirly sentiment from Tag Buffet on top. We have some fun and festive inspiration this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments #352! Looking at all these inspiration pics, it was hard to choose just one, lol. So I did three! (And figured out that I don't have a current Santa - how did THAT happen??) I remembered to check my Plaid Tidings DSP pack for some black check, and struck gold! I added a couple plaid trees for good measure, and a snuggly snowman over them. And I had this North Pole sentiment in with the trees - and I realized I've never used it! It's like Christmas Kismet! I'm really happy with how this came out! Aw, CAS Christmas is closing out their challenge year, but they're going out with a doozy - non-traditional colors! For this one, I actually started with the colors - I picked out a bold combo of Bermuda Bay and Mango Melody. I was thinking, weird holly? Funky bells? Then I spotted my hostess set A Merry Hello stamp set, and remembered that I haven't stamped this long sock stocking - sold! I even threw in this awesome quote from Christmas Means More - one of my faves from Miracle on 34th Street! The whole thing is such a "silly" combo, I upped the silliness with a few Bermuda Bay pom-poms. Now THIS is a non-traditional set-up!
