 OK, I've been wanting to try one of the "star-burst" cards for a while now - how perfect that Retro Sketches #95 lets me slip one in just before the new year! I knew also that I wanted to use some more new goodies again - don't you just LOVE new framelits?? Just Sayin' stamp set; Whisper White CS; Sweet Sorbet DSP; Word Bubbles framelit dies; Crisp Cantaloupe ink; Basic Jewel Rhinestones.

 OK, still on that "refill the Christmas Card box" kick that I mentioned yesterday - want to slip some more in while the season is still upon us, lol! So when I saw this week's Clean & Simple #272, I knew I wanted to use some pretty ornaments to fill these shapes - perfect timing! Greetings of the Season & Ornament Keepsakes stamp sets; Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White & Silver Glimmer CS; Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive & Island Indigo inks; Holiday Ornaments Framelits; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; Silver Trim Tinsel (retired); Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. 
 OK, so this year, I tried something a little different - I mailed out ALL the different Christmas cards I've been making all year for the house cards, instead of producing ONE card from the family. You know, the box was full, and card-making must go on, and now, well, the box is empty. And it's WIGGING ME OUT! So I might need to sneak in a few more Christmas cards this year to fill that baby back up again. And since I like a challenge, I decided to see what I could do with this week's Sunday Stamps #65 "cheetah" color challenge - pretty! Hope this suits... And Merry Christmas, dear ones. God's peace on all of us, always. Christmas Star & Christmas Messages stamp sets; So Saffron, Baked Brown Sugar & Very Vanilla CS; So Saffron & Basic Black inks; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. 
 Here's a quick picture of a new Candy Wrapper Wreath I made in a Christmas version for my dear friend Marj - she just moved in to her assisted living apartment, so I wanted to make her something nice for her new door. I know it will be a tough transition - she's a feisty lady! Just so glad to see her get cared for...
There's very little SU! material here, I went digging through my ancient "rogue" paper stash for something bright and cheery to use, and found this old Recollections stack I must have picked up years ago, lol! Timeless Type Alphabet Junior dies (retired); Bigz L Candy Wrapper die (retired); Gold Foil Specialty DSP; 12" Wood Floral Wreath; Recollections O Christmas Tree Paper Pad; various buttons, ribbons & cotton perles.  The layout of this week's Freshly Made Sketch #117 really made me go back and take a look at my SAB set See Ya Later - seemed like it was going to make the shapes come out just right! Problem was, I wanted to use the lovey sentiment, and I don't really have a current Valentine's DSP. So we get to mix this with a pretty old (at this point) Specialty DSP for our pink and red flags! I kept this card a simple and straight-forward interpretation of the sketch - pretty cute if I do say so myself! See Ya Later stamp set; Real Red, Very Vanilla & Pretty in Pink (retired) CS; Sending Love Specialty DSP (retired); Red Cotton Perle, Real Red & Chocolate Chip inks; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; Brights Candy Dots. 
 Eee, another color challenge from Nacho Average Challenge #68! I'm really starting to get into these bold and bright combos - so striking... I decided it was another great opp for breaking out some new goodies again - woo hoo! Sale-A-Bration 2014 is coming! This card sort of came together all by itself - 15 minutes flat!  As soon as I saw this week's Clean & Simple #271, I just KNEW I'd finally found my chance to whip out my new Life in the Forest stamp set from the upcoming 2014 Occasions Mini - yay! I've been dying to get my aqua-painter on that little fox for a month now, lol... I was able to pair up a few other new goodies (awesome-ness on every page, remember?) in a cool way, too, if I do say so myself! Quick tip: I wanted my circles to nest a bit more snugly, so for the larger Coastal Cabana one, I actually traced around the same framelit I used for the Very Vanilla circle, and hand-cut. Enjoy!  Time for some more sneak peaks with Fab Friday #33! I'm not sure how happy I am with the overall result of this card - maybe it has a touch of over-stamp-itis, lol! But you know how it is - you get a new stamp set that uses framelits, and you just can't stop yourself! So, I combined a few new things, from both the upcoming 2014 Sale-A-Bration and the 2014 Occasions Mini. Yummy, yummy! Of course, I totally went rogue on the colors - none of the ones I used are called for with the DSP - but I like a challenge! Banner Blast & Simple Stems stamp sets; Whisper White, So Saffron & Calypso Coral CS; Watercolor Wonder DSP; Apothecary Accents & Secret Garden Framelits; Essentials Piercing Pack; Wisteria Wonder, So Saffron, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe & Calypso Coral inks; Banner Punch.   Don't know what it is about my resistance to using the suggested oval shapes in this week's Paper Craft Crew #72 - but it was just NOT happening for me, lol! I thought - hey, this could be anything, right? That's what's so great about sketches - letting your imagination take flight... I did decide to use SOME ovals for the sentiment instead, though. But then, I blew off that shape, too, sigh... Oh well! So, what are YOU crafting this week? The Crew wants to know!
