![]() The Halloween Horizon keeps expanding with My Pumpkin Challenge #1014 - Sweets & Treats! I am determined to use every scrap of the Boo-tiful Bags kit! After last year's "door wrap" tardis decor on our front door, which I vowed not to do again, grr, we needed something new out front. I decided that a cute little burlap banner would be just the ticket! I only had three bags left from my first kit, so I stretched them to the number of flags I needed for the banner by opening them up and mixing my prints with some plain sides, too. I also wanted the letters to be big and bold, so out came the retired Serif Essentials Alphabet dies. I decided to add a little pop by shadowing the white letters with Tangerine Tango, too - subtle, but it really adds a bit of dimension. I added on some of the cute little stickers from the kit for that little something extra. I never know when to say enough, lol! I'll probably add more sequins when I have a minute, too, lol... Paper Pumpkin Boo-tiful Bags; plus, Tangelo Twist & Whisper White CS; Serif Essential Alphabet Dies; Blackberry Bliss Striped Satin Ribbon; Two-Tone Trim in Tangerine Tango. ![]() Christmas Cards Class, Part 2! ![]() Wow, I can't believe it's already time for May's last My Pumpkin Challenge #0514 - Tags Everywhere! Where did the month go?? For my final Tag-stravaganza, I knew I wanted to do some version of the standing tag banners we've done in my classes before, but I wanted to feature all Pumpkin, PLUS some new goodies, our new In Colors, and the faboo new alphabet set - Metro Type. Love it! It's photopolymer, so I can see everything, and it's just small enough to be circle-punchable - another win! Bringin' out the summer decor for our hall table now! Paper Pumpkin: Pedal Praise, In The Bag, Glittered Greetings & Framed Love; plus, Metro Type Alphabet; Island Indigo, Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey. Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, & Tangelo Twist Inks, CS & Ribbons; 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punches; Dimensionals. Ready for our next class? I'm excited to try another kit, this one from this year's Sale-A-Bration catalog - the Heartfelt Banner! The kit comes with lots of very sweet accessories, and of course, I've done my bit to add some extra details for us! All you need are your own pictures, or even quotes, and you don't need to bring them to class, you can add them later when you're ready, because they just clip on! Heck, the banner is cute without the pictures, too...
I know it's kind of hard to see, but the sample I made below features my younger sister's recent wedding, and I plan to send it to her for her birthday in May. Accordingly, I chose to add the phrase "true love." You can add any word or phrase of your choice, up to nine letters would work best for the banner. Maybe "family," "I love you," or "bad boys," lol... You choose! I have plenty of kits on hand (see what I did with MY Sale-A-Bration rewards??), all you need to do is let me know what word or phrase you want when you RSVP. Class will be $20, but, if you already have this kit, bring it along, and class is only $5! So, our Heartfelt Banner Class has several options - just pick what works best for you, or let me know if you want to shoot for a different time! First offering will be Thursday, April 17, 630 pm. I also have a day class available for Tuesday, April 22, 930 am. And finally, I can offer a weekend class for those need a Saturday for Saturday, April 26, at 10 am. As always, if you find that these dates don't suit you, just let me know and we will make it work for you! All classes include snacks and drinks, as well as your little treat, of course, and are $20, or $5 with your own kit! RSVP today for your spot! See you soon! I have been waiting for our October class since our Holiday Catty first came out - now's our time to finally play with the Simply Created Build A Banner kit! Woo! I wanted to make it a little Autumn, but still simple enough to hang up year-round if one wanted - and I dressed it up with some exclusive accessories from the Simply Created Thankful Tablescape kit, too! Let me just tell you - that birch-bark paper is SO COOL!
You get lots of personalization choices, as usual, but as much work as I could do for you ahead of time, I have done - to give you the most time to play! I think the banner kit is worth it for the stencils alone... So, our class is scheduled for 630 PM, Thursday, October 24, chez Heroldt, or, for my day-larks, 10 am on Friday October 25, also chez Heroldt! $20 includes all supplies, treats and snacks, but you might want to bring your own hot-glue gun. RSVP today, so I can make sure to have your supplies ready! ![]() When I saw Janet's Halloween sign at Stampin' Nerd, I knew I HAD to CASE it! I never know what to do with the beautiful subway-art-esque sheets that come in our DSP packs, and with one just for Halloween, how could I resist? Then what-do-you-know, along comes Fab Friday #28 with a color scheme as well - I feel like I kinda cheated, though, lol! After inking up (I had to add Crushed Curry, too!), I added some ribbon and rogue jewels, and was all set - this whole project only took an hour, even with waiting on the modge podge! Brilliant, Janet! This is all just cut into blocks and modge-podged to chip board scrap, with edges blackened and roughened, and wired together to hang on the guest bathroom door. Next step: dry ice for the toilet... Witches Brew DSP; Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive & Crushed Curry inks & ribbons; rogue "Dark" Jewels; Natural Trim Ribbon; Witches Brew Washi Tape (freebie from Convention - woo!); Various eyelets; decorative wire. I've been fretting for a week or two that my Father's Day shadow box is looking a little lonely - I needed to add something to the table decor for this theme. Enter My Pumpkin Challenge #2 - besides making a Paper Pumpkin Kit shine, try and pull in the theme of tags or banners. This immediately made me think of that cute standing tags banner we did for Valentine's Day - tags and banners in one swoop!
I made "Pater Familias" in same way we did that project (you can find those instructions here, if you missed it!), but using the same general color scheme used on the shadow box - except for using the papers from the latest Paper Pumpkin kit - Good Life! This opened up some new color options, but it still goes well with the other decor. Yay! All the little stickers were fun to play with, too - but still manly! Hubby is a big "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" fan! Make sure to visit My Pumpkin Challenge to see what other cool "off-label" goodies folks are coming up with! May 2013 Paper Pumpkin - Good Life Brag Book kit; plus, Not Quite Navy CS; White Baker's Twine; Midnight Muse & Summer Starfruit satin stitched ribbon; Natural Trim ribbon; Sycamore Street buttons (retired -SAB 2013); Timeless Type Junior Alphabet sizzlets; Mini Clothespins (retired); Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets (retired); Artisan Label & Word Window punches. ![]() This week's Clean & Simple #231 has some of my favorite elements - balloons! I LOVE the sample she showed! It was an easy hop to switch over to kites - using a retired set that I feel like had all too short a shelf life... The kites are so bright and cheery, what a great card for a quick note of encouragement! Sparkly clouds added a just a touch of that little something extra, instead of my usual rhinestones... Send Me Soaring (retired) stamp set; Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Pool Party & Island Indigo CS; Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Raspberry Ripple & Basic Black inks; Dazzling Diamonds glitter; 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle punches. ![]() I know the time is fast approaching when I have to take down the Christmas decorations, {sob}, so I always want to bring on the Valentine's decor P-D-Q - I can't have a naked house after all the holiday extravagance! I thought this standing-tag table banner was SO adorable - I figured we had to do one for class, to go with our shadow boxes! And then you can fold it up and tuck it away til next year - how cute is that?? If we didn't do all the dimensional stuff, you could even make cute cards this way, too, I was thinking... ![]() Anyway, this is definitely on our list of class projects for Jan 17! I think we'll make the kanzashi into a necklace, maybe with a pin to go with, perhaps, this banner, and a card for your sweetie... If there's interest, I figured we could also have a bonus class on Jan 31, for those that don't have a Valentine's Day shadow box insert, or who want to make the second one that Lisa and I did last year - those pictures are below. The bonus class will be for one shadow box insert, and two cards, in case the one we do on the 17th isn't enough to cover all your sweethearts! Hee hee... We can definitely do a mix-and-match-make-up of whatever you like, more cards, treats, whatever! Let me know what you think about the 31st! ![]() OK, enough people asked for a quick class for that shadow box that I guess that has made the menu! To round out the Easter decor, we'll also have this banner, make sure to click on the picture to go to a full size version, and you can go here for a detail photo. With Sale-A-Bration winding down, I decided that it was a good time to start using up our almost gone Everyday Enchantment DSP (sob!), so this banner is that result! You can make yours say what you like, no more than 10 or 11 letters please! If you let me know ahead of time, I can try to have your letters ready for you - otherwise, the banner says, "Alleluia!" Class will be held this Wednesday evening, Mar 28, 6:30 pm. Make sure to RSVP, as it's coming on fast, and I want to prep as much as I can for you! |
