 Love this paneled sketch at Match the Sketch #139! I'm matching it with these colors from Pals Paper Arts #315! When I saw the tiles on the sketch, I knew I wanted to play with Marquee Messages again - it's just so fun! This time, I did some water-coloring, rather than the paper-piecing I've been doing. I like this look, too! I moved the horizontal bar to behind my tiles (sh, hope I get away with that, lol), and added some texture. A quick, fun and bright card - yay! I'm so excited I get to play at What Will You Stamp #78 this week - the feature is Sweet Cupcake! Yum! I'm not sure why I always gravitate to Sweet Sugarplum frosting for this stamp set, but there it is, lol. I would LOVE a cupcake with this delectable frosting!! Today, we're having it with chocolate sprinkles, too, can't forget those. I've played a few times with what combos of stamping and stamping off I like to use for both the frosting and the cake - I think I've hit on my fave now! I stamped full strength for both number one stamps, the stamped off once for the next two frostings, and once and twice for the next two cakes. Did you follow that at all, lol?? He was so awesome - a blue beta with touches of dark red on his trailing fins - he lived in jar through a series of rented rooms and shared apartments. For Christmas and his "birthday" (June 11, same as Jacques Cousteau, I picked him a good one!) I always got him a new fresh plant to play with. I grew up in a house full of pets and critters - he helped me not be lonely in my vagabond college years, lol. He was such a good fish - the best listener! I love playing with shape this way! As soon as I saw this sketch, I thought how cool it would look with the little gems scattered around from the July Paper Pumpkin, What a Gem. I dug out my retired One Tag Fits All to make the "mommy" gem, lol. Going straight for Emerald Envy seemed a natural fit, and I added some Dapper Denim for a contrast. Really a quick and simple card - the hardest thing was making the "stacked" sentiment stretch out into a line, but some quick masking took care of that, too! It actually took me forever to make up my mind how I wanted to approach this. A big central crossed feature isn't something I do too much, so I really wanted to make sure I could make it flow, lol. Finally I hit on trying to make that element a little sparser, and I hit on lining up pairs of the squiggle from Cupcake Cutouts. Fun! I nice central sentiment, and I was off to the races!
