Inking Ferns

OK, Less Is More #439 is really testing us this round with "CAS inking!"  What the heck is that!!
Looking over the samples, I'm psyched to do some kind of masked bans with an ink effect - in this case, I want to try out my Blending Brushes a little more!  I decided on a landscape layout, masked off my column area and went to town with a few colors to make this rich green area.  After that I decided to do all my stamping in Black, to highlight the contrast, but I played up the color and the Black together with some Iridescent Black Pearls.  I really love how this came out!

We've hit a BIG number this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #500!  Wow!  And what fun to combine with our "CASE the catty" theme at SU Only #272!
I have to say, it wasn't hard to find a card sample in our Spring Mini Catty that reminded me of our TSOT sketch, and to case in into a different card altogether for SUO!  What better suite to go for it than our Flowering Cactus medley, too?  Still can't get enough of this suite, I SO love the papers, and the stamps, and the dies - it's just the whole package, baby!
I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for our challenges this week - see you at the challenges!
Flowering Cactus Stamps Set; Flowering Cactus DSP; Soft Sea Foam, Whisper White & Calypso Coral CS; Mossy Meadow Ink; Flowering Cactus Dies; Banner Pick a Punch; #TSOT500; #SUOC272.

Such a lovely pic for this week's Easter theme at As You See It #246 - yum!
So, I love me a chocolate bunny, and yes, I ADORE marshmallow chicks, I can not tell a lie, lol, but I decided to reflect a bit on a different meaning for the holiday.  Yes, we know so much more this year than we did this time last year, and we're finally getting closer to being able to gather together a bit more, but I'll miss being with my church family for the second year in a row - such a time of celebration for us!  I know we'll get there - this is the Easter of hope for me...

Such a fun combo this week at In{k}spire Me #445 - I LOVE those colors together!
I thought at first I was only going to do the colors - I had a grand idea percolating in my mind about it!  But then, I just couldn't stop looking at the sketch, too - and I couldn't figure out how to work in the stamp set I planned, argh!  So I scrapped the percolating plan, and went with this lovely array of DSP instead, so I could tackle both sides of the challenge!  It's funny how the proportions JUST worked out for my sentiment, too, what a happy accident!

Fusion has a lovely match-up for us today called "Easter Eggs" - love this country look!
Every time I see an Easter theme, I think I'll have to go through my retired shelves for something good - which I love to do, don't get me wrong, lol.  But I keep getting reminded - Arrange a Wreath has Easter accessories, too, for a cute Easter wreath!  So I finally did one today.  I couldn't resist matching it with this fun DSP sheet from Playing With Patterns, I love all the colors!  So I did up all my eggs to match.  AT the last second, I realized I could fit in a little leaf ring for my wreath, too - yay!  My proportions might be a little wonky, but I think I actually worked both sides of the Fusion today!

I love our cool colors this week at Fab Friday #210 - very boyish!
I finally decided I wanted to try some alternative colors for our cute snails in Snailed It - so GQ, don't you think?  I even stamped the other one on the inside, lol.  Anyway, I set a little mushroom scene, then added this little guy with his letter, and then decided to add the word bubble because I needed just a little more Pear Pizzazz...  Quick and simple with my markers, and I still have a few Misty Moonlight Enamel Dots to spare!
So what will YOU do with our colors?  I can't wait to check it out - see you at the challenge!

Such a bold cover from this week's The Library Challenge #79 - Teach Yourself Dutch!
I don't think I can fit in ALL those lovely Dutch images, but I do have some gorgeous tulips I've been hoarding from 2018's Tranquil Tulips.  I honored the colors a bit at least with some Pumpkin Pie over Coastal Cabana, such a vibrant contrast, it really reminds me of this book cover!  So fun!  I kept the layers simple, and finished with a few Pumpkin Pie Enamel Dots I've been hoarding, too!

Very cool - Addicted to CAS #193 has a "shapes" challenge for us this week - great idea!
I really struggled with this one, lol, and in the end, I'm not real sure how CAS this ended up being either!  I did finally go with a white-on-white layer for my card structure, and ended up with this pretty tumble of strawberries across my card front.  My sentiment JUST fit on the right, and with some strategic masking, I added my large circle shape for insurance with a Blending Brush.  I like the spotlight effect I got, but I still need to practice with these brushes, I think!

We're flying our flags at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday #499!
Since we also have an optional theme of butterflies, I decided to pull out my trusty Butterfly Gala set - I love all the wing designs and coloring options in this one!  I'm also still enamored with the sentiments - so sweet, and even the mix of fonts is cool!  I decided to float my wings over this pretty sheet from the Sale-A-Bration DSP pack Flower & Field - still have a bit left, lol.  I took advantage of one of our little flags for my sentiment feature, and finished with some epoxy droplets - I love the little spots of brilliance they add!
I can't wait to see what YOU create for our cute sketch - I'll be looking for you over at the challenge!

CAS White Christmas

Oo, there's a GREAT color challenge at this week's CAS Christmas March 2021 - red, white and kraft (or Crumb Cake in SU! world, lol!)
I thought about it for about 5 seconds, and went straight to my old White Christmas set from 2014 - still one of my all-time fave Christmas sets, and one from SU!'s early development of photopolymer - this was so exciting back then!  Anyway, I knew these pretty trees would look lovely in White over my Crumb Cake, and I was right!  I finished with a polar bear (because why not?) and two bright birds to add a touch more red - so happy with this little scene!
