Time for another Fab Friday #63 color challenge!  This time, we're saying a fond farewell to our out-going set of In Colors - can't wait to see our new ones!  This also seems like a great challenge for combining with Can You Case It #67's Mother's Day challenge, too!
So, in the years I've been a Stampin' Up! demo, I've tried hard to cultivate a philosophical attitude about this time of year - the dreaded retirement list!  My first couple were HORRIBLE.  Total nutty.  I had serious co-dependency issues with ALL of my stamps in those days.  Now, I've gotten better, though I do have an occasional "they'll pry this one out of my cold dead hands" moment (Best of Cluck, anyone??) but I've learned that new awesomeness is just around the corner in our new catalog.  Eee!  Exciting!
This year, my biggest pang was over the demise of all our Spanish language stamps, like Deseos pequenitos, here, the Spanish version of Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I live in Arizona!  I USE these stamps!  I'm giving a little sob while I type this - and they'll pry this one out of my mumble mumble mumble...  Sigh.
Mixed Bunch & Deseos pequenitos Stamp Sets; Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding & Whisper White CS; Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe & Coastal Cabana {SOB} Inks; Corner Rounder, Modern Label {SOB}, Word Window (retired already, sigh), 3/4" & 7/8" Circles & Blossom Punches; Flower Fair Framelits; Lovely Lace Embossing Folder; Pistachio Pudding Heavy Baker's Twine; Basic Jewel Rhinestones.

Woo hoo - time for another great sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #60!  It was a fun one, another great chance to go nutso with color again, too, of course!
I saw the sketch and got to thinking how I never pull out the Quint-essential Flower enough - five layers instead of the three we used to have with the Triple Treat Blossom (sob) can be a bit daunting.  I also realized today that there's a bit of flexibility in how you choose your layers, too!  Good grief!
Quint-essential Flower & Deseos pequenitos (Teeny Tiny Wishes) stamp sets; Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder & Melon Mambo CS; Flirtateous Specialty (retired) DSP; Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink, Daffodil Delight & Wisteria Wonder inks; Various punches; self-adhesive rhinestones.

I made this card as a warm up for a Freshly Made sketch I was having a hard time with - I ended up going in a totally different direction, LOL...
I love the idea of a clear, crisp winter's night, though - we get a lot of those out here in the desert!

Merry Minis & Deseos pequenitos (Teeny Tiny Wishes) stamp sets; Night of Navy, Whisper White & Always Artichoke CS; Regals DSP & Champagne glimmer paper;  Gold embossing powder; Adorning Accents edgelits; Cupcake Builder punch; Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder; Frost White shimmer ink.

Wow-howdy!  This Retro Sketch #33 was a super toughie for me!  I wanted to do something different, something cool, something fresh, and I had to think about this sketch for three days to think of some different ways I could do it - there will be some warm up cards coming later!
I decided since I don't use the stamp set enough, I should break Sweets out again - remember the lollipop card?  These pinwheels are from that same set - too cool!
Sweets for the Sweet & Deseos pequenitos (Teeny Tiny Wishes) stamp sets; Barely Bananas (retired), Baja Breeze & Whisper White CS; Patio Party DSP; Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals & Lucky Limeade inks; Adorning Accents edgelit & embossing folder; 1/8" Taffeta ribbon in Baja Breeze; Ultra mini brads.

Here's another card for my Espanol box!  This year's awesome Holiday DSP Candlelight Christmas included a flocked window sheet - I am always stumped by how to use those!  I tried my hand at this simple layout for a quick and discreet float of color over a natural background.  I had to be creative about my pop dot placement, so that none of them showed!  Maybe windowed cookie boxes are in order for the rest!

Al Punto (Easy Events) stamp set; Crumb Cake, Whisper White & Lucky Limeade CS; flocked window sheet from Candlelight Christmas DSP; Stitched Grosgrain in Whisper White.

Ack!  This week's Fab Friday #02 sketch challenge was a COLOR challenge!  Yikees!  Luckily for me, Freshly Made Sketches recently published a retrospective of the last year's worth of sketches, so I had a good source to go to for the sketch side!  Whew!
Time for another Spanish card, I think.  I'm pretty sure I'd forgive this snail for being late, he's so cuteand cheery!  Well, and he's bearing gifts, too, that's a plus.

Basic Gray, Sahara Sand & So Saffron CS; Al Punto (Easy Events) stamp set; Pawsitively Prints II (retired) DSP; 5/8" Grosgrain in So Saffron; Tasteful Trim Bigz die; Large Delicate Doily sizzlit; button from the Subtles collection.

Today's sketch from Retro Sketches #28 was all about trying some new color combos for me.  I have to just out this out there - the new In Colors have NOT been talking to me, but they're slowly starting to grow on me one at a time! This is also the first time I've used my Designer Frames embossing folder.  I can tell that'll be coming out again real soon!
I know hearts are supposed to be red, but I decided to flip the color scheme today and see what happened - I think I like it!

Al Punto (Easy Events) stamp set; Midnight Muse, Riding Hood Red & Pool Party CS; Wild Wasabi, Midnight Muse & Close to Cocoa (retired) inks; Storytime DSP; pleated satin ribbon in RHR; Fashionable Hearts embosslit; Designer Frames embossing folder.

Here's my take on Retro Sketches #26 - simple, offset - it was harder than it looked!  I still feel like my card has come out a little TOO simple, but I was trying to resist the urge to over-embellish, so I thought I'd just stop here...  I might have to take another stab at this sketch before I'm happy!  At least I was able to tap into my Color Coach fro some unexpected color combos for Cajun Craze!

Al Punto (Easy Events) & Sweet Summer (retired) stamp sets; Cajun Craze, Old Olive & Very Vanilla CS; Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon, matching markers, self-adhesive pearls.

I CASE'd this cutie straight out of the catalog:  page 14 of Celebrando Creatividad, or page 35 of the "big book."  This one really made me wonder - do they digitally change out the sentiments on these?  They must!
I converted the birthday sentiment to the thank you one - what a fun way to play with a "tag!"  That little CS color circle at the top really gives it an extra pop!  This is such a versatile stamp set...

Al Punto (Easy Events) stamp set; Pool Party & Summer Starfruit CS; Patio Party DSP; Delicate Doily die; Linen thread; self-adhesive pearls.

Well, guess I have babies on the brain this week!  Here's another Spanish card for my Espanol box, using the Al Punto stamp set.  I have to admit, this new In Color, Summer Starfruit, is starting to grow on me.  Never thought I'd say that!  I CASE'd this cutie from Maryse Pelletier.

Al Punto (Easy Events) stamp set; Whisper White, Baja Breeze & Summer Starfruit CS; Pool Party DSP; Adorning Accents edgelit & embossing folder; 2 3/4" Scallop Circle punch; 2" Circle punch; Piercing pack; Aqua Painter; self-adhesive rhinestones; Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon.
