I am SO Excited that the first round of the Christmas Specials at In{k}spire Me #492 is gift tags! Love them! I decided to pull out my Decorated With Happiness set AGAIN, lol. Really, it's just so versatile! I cut a tag trio using my beloved Tailor Made Tags Dies, along with the hole protectors, and had some fun doing some single ornament arrangements. For a final touch of sparkle, I added some tiny Iridescent Rhinestones. Even with using the dies for the ornaments and tags, this little project was quick! They're so adorable, and the timing is perfect, since I have a pile of boxes from Amazon to get going on, lol. Decorated With Happiness Stamp Set; Basic White & Real Red CS; Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party Inks; Tailor Made Tags & Decorated Pine Dies; White Baker's Twine; Iridescent Rhinestones; #IMC492. Time for a new challenge this month at The Male Room #163 - "tag!" Fun! This actually comes at a good time for me - looks like we have finally settled on the new grill, set to arrive during the man month of June, lol, and this little token I can hang from the grill cover will be just right! I sandwiched together three layers - the two outside ones are the front and back of our brilliant He's The Man DSP, and one of the printed diecuts from the specialty pages. The "filling" is a smaller tag for me to write a little love message on. This sentiment is also little joke between us, arising from the day I learned the word "guapo" on my Duolingo app, lol. As in, Hola, Guapo! Giggle. He's All That Stamp Set; He's the Man DSP; Cajun Craze & Sahara Sand CS; Early Espresso Ink, Tailor Made Tags Dies; Crumb Cake Heavy Baker's Twine; #TMR163. We have a lovely romantic sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #492, and we'd like to see a 3-D item for SU Only #268. And just to round out my three-fer, I have these perfect bold colors from Retro Rubber #151 - black, white and red! This is a tall order! I started by deciding on a tag for my 3-D item - just in time for hubby's Valentine's present, too! I went on the prowl for something old and gooey (lol) on my shelves of retirement, and came across PS. I Love You from 2012 - still so sweet! This is the one that has the little chocolate-covered strawberry in it, too - remember that? Yum! Anyway, this "heart of hearts" was my fave image from that set, and I even still have the punch, natch. From there, all I needed to do was shrink down the sketch to fit on a tag - whew! I love how it came out, and can't wait to plant it on my sweetie! I can't wait to see YOUR projects this week, too - meet you at the challenges! PS. I Love You Stamp Set (retired 2012); Basic Black, Real Red & Whisper White CS; Real Red & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Full Heart & Scallop Edge Border Punches (both retired); Real Red Cotton Ribbon; Clothespin; Resin Heart Embellishments; #TSOT492; #SUOC268; #RRCB151. Ooo, The Sisterhood of Crafters is having an "anything but a sketch" challenge - what to do?? Well, something I DO start doing this time of year is looking for chances to start building up my holiday tag stockpile, lol, excellent! For some reason, I've been wanting to play with our retired Smitten Mittens set a lot lately, too, so I'm just going to all-out indulge myself here! I stamped this gorgeous mitten with the cutest sentiment ever on the fold, in four holiday colors. I went ahead and hand-trimmed these so I could keep that little smidge of fold at the top where I wanted. I put a little "To/From" on the inside, hung a little twine on a corner, then finished with a simple ribbon tie along the top to help hide that fold! Quick and simple, but super cute - these are going to really dress up some pretty presents this year! Smitten Mittens Stamp Set (retired 2017); Whisper White CS; Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce & Old Olive Inks; White Baker's Twine; Playful Pets Trim; Shaded Spruce Cotton Ribbon; 1/8" Circle Punch; #TSOCABAC. Christmas Cards 2020 Part 2 Class October 10! Yay! It's finally time to get to the rest of our special holiday cards - just in time for getting your Christmas card list together! This class features 6 cards and envelopes, the rest of our faves from the Holiday Mini Catty! Class includes all supplies needed (bring your own snips and fave adhesive!) snacks, drinks, and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday October 10, 3 PM, or you can get it to go! RSVP today to save your spot! Hm, I think I might have to dig deep for this week's Global Design Project #87 - their theme is cooking, baking or making, and I'm not sure what I have! I think I might be able to match it up with Stamp Ink Paper #99's packaging challenge, too, though - let's see what happens! I decided this was a great chance to revive my retired Yummy Little Christmas set - I didn't have enough time to do too much with it last holiday catty, and I've hung onto it since kitchen gifts are pretty big in my neighborhood. I've come up with a little Glassine Gift Bag of 4 tags - all different, all fun, and all YUMMY! Lol. I played with my fave retired Christmas DSP as well, love these colors together! Keeping this short - the supply list is huge! Yummy Little Christmas Stamp Set (retired); Merry Moments DSP (retired); Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler CS; Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Old Olive, Crumb Cake & Garden Green Inks; Glassine Gift Bag; Angled Tag Topper Punch; Layering Circles & Stitched Shapes Framelits; Early Espresso, Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine; Linen Thread; Garden Green Candy Dots (retired); Old Olive Glittered Enamel Dots (NEW!); Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #GDP87; #SIP99. Eee! For some reason when I was getting started today, I totally went into a Pumpkin Nostalgia Moment. I think it's because I label all my sets with the names and release dates showing, and I happened to see, April 2013 was the hilarious "Seriously" kit! And seriously, it's a perfect match for THIS set, IMHO! Since I was going all nostalgia, I pulled out my old Many Mustaches single, too - just narrow enough to fit on the little white card layer that comes with Love You A Lot. Yee-Haw came in next because of the mustachios, lol. Sometimes my mind just goes in strange directions, what can I say? Make sure you link your awesome creations over at My Pumpkin Challenge #0515 - with bows on! I can't believe we're already on our last week of My Pumpkin Challenge #0315 - Folds, Punches & Fun! Time for me to bring out the punches! I can't help but feel like these cute little boxes really lend themselves to little gift sets, for just because. You know? This week it's a little box 'o tags, lol, so I can show off all my tag topper punches! I had quite the time finding sentiments to accompany all the letters, too, so FUN! You all thought I'd get stuck on the "K," didn't you? Hah! Not only did I find a sentiment, it's even a Pumpkin stamp! Take that, alphabet nazis! And actually, the "N" was harder - I had to pick between two, lol... So, bring on the Pumpkin layers, gang! Can't wait to see what you've created! Paper Pumpkin - Layers of Gratitude; plus, Seriously, Somethin' Somethin', @SoSocial & Nuts About You Stamp Sets; Best Year Ever DSP, Ribbon & Buttons; Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Crushd Curry & Soft Suede Inks; Ornate, Scallop & Angled Tag Topper Punches; White Baker's Twine. It's Cold again! One of my big things this holiday season has been making tag sets - oh, how I love them! We had so many cute stamps this year that really lent themselves to sets of gift tags. I always feel like tags are such a great gift - keeps that giving going! And is a great way to dress up the humblest token, too. So I was totally THRILLED that our Simply Snowflake Paper Pumpkin had such a large tag element - yes! So far, I have squeezed three sets of 8 out of those babies, by the simple choice of NOT layering them as shown in the kit directions. With the addition of a few more ink colors, and maybe other washi, the tag possibilities are endless! Sweet! Don't forget to share your chilly creations - inquiring pumpkins want to know what you are up to! Simply Snowflake Paper Pumpkin; plus, Soft Sky, Whisper White Craft & Pear Pizzazz Inks; Silver Glimmer Specialty CS; 1 3/4" Circle Punch; Petite Cafe Gift Bag. Pumpkin Club December 27! Getting an awesome pumpkin in the mail every month to play with! It makes our My Pumpkin Challenge #0914 - What Makes You Smile SO appropriate! Something else that makes me smile, lol, is giving little gifts, of love, of encouragement, for anything at all! I made this little set of gift tags just for that! I can see hanging them from a bottle of wine, tying around a posy, or on a fancy package - the sky's the limit! They all fit in this adorable little box that I made with the new Gift Box Punch Board, too. So fun to use! I sort of folded mine inside out to add a little more interest to the outside - came out pretty cool! You SO have to try this! A quick hint: my little card bases are 4 1/2" x 3 1/4", scored on the long edge at 2 1/4". I trimmed down the little stripey papers from the kit to 3 1/8" x 2 1/8". There's just enough room for my layers! I punched my corner holes for the twine with my Crop-A-Dile Big Bite! So, make sure to show us what makes you smile this month - it's just what the pumpkin ordered! Paper Pumpkin - Seriously Amazing; plus, Strawberry Slush, Mellow Moss & Hello Honey CS; Strawberry Slush & Mellow Moss Inks; Gift Box Punch Board; 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon in Hello Honey; Thick Baker's Twine in Strawberry Slush. Pumpkin Club September 6! Did you get your August Pumpkin kit yet? I love cut-outs! Remember to subscribe here if you haven't already - sign up by September 10 and you can join us in time for next month! Time for another installment of this month's My Pumpkin Challenge #0514 - Tags Everywhere! Here's how I "stepped up" from last's week's edition! I decided to go bigger - for a really special package, or maybe a little love letter on the back, you never know! I hand-cut this overall tag shape to get to the size I wanted, so it's still a basic angled tag shape. I also tried my hand at stamping on ribbon for this one - the Pear Pizzazz ink I tried the first time really didn't show as much as I wanted, so I went with Calypso Coral. And lastly, heat-embossing on DSP was also new to me, but I wanted the color to be really saturated for some extra pop! Enjoy! Paper Pumpkin-Framed Love; plus, Pool Party & Crumb Cake CS; Calypso Coral & Versamark Inks; Pool Party Embossing Powder; Decorative Dots Embossing Folder; Natural Trim Ribbon; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. Pop Up Card Class May 15, 19 & 31! Don't forget - for our Pop-Up Card Class, we'll be making 4 cards, that all fold flat and fit in standard envelopes, but pop up and out to yummy goodness on the inside! We'll be doing "portrait" and "landscape" cards both, for a little variety, and one card (this one!) will be all about our new In Colors, so you'll have some samples right away, to go with your amazing new catalog that will be waiting here for you! I can't wait for you to try these cards - you'll be stunned at how fun they are to deck out! I'll keep posting the other samples - keep checking back! So, class is announced for Thursday, May 15, 6:30 pm, chez Heroldt, with snacks and drinks as usual, of course, still for $20! RSVP today to make sure I have your supplies cut and waiting for you! I have also now added a day class for Monday, May19 at 10 AM, and a Saturday class for May 31, 2 pm. Just sing out if you prefer either of those days! |
