![]() We're visiting the diagonal this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #419! I had a hard time choosing my papers to get me started with this one - and I wanted to try something different! I finally spotted my retired pack of By The Bay DSP, and really liked this fish sheet. It sort of reminds me of The Chosen's "different" theme, which led me to my Courage & Faith set, lol. See how my mind works?? Anyway, I really went with more subtle colors than I usually do, but I really like how this came together, and such a great quote! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our tilty sketch this round - meet you at the challenge! Courage & Faith Stamp Set; By The Bay DSP; Basic White, Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink & Pool Party CS; Pecan Pie Ink; Stylish Shapes Dies; Painted Textures EF; Soft Sea Foam Sheer Ribbon; Whale of a Time Sequins (retired); #HSS419. ![]() Pumpkin Club July 29! ![]() Nice! I'm loving our slimline-esque sketch at this round's Sunday Stamps #312! I usually avoid slimlines - envelopes are a bit problematic, and, So. Much. Real Estate. Lol. It has always seemed like a lot of space to fill, is all, though of course one could adjust the dimension. I was determined to get through it today, though! I started with DSP, since I knew I'd be making a custom envelope. I chose a retired pack since I needed a BIG piece, lol. From there, I chose my longest and skinniest stamp, lol, which happened to be this quote of Psalm 84, from Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection 6. Whew! From there I had some space to fill, so I constructed this sun and shield using dies - we need an awesome sun set, don't you think? I can't wait to see YOUR projects with our fun sketch this round - what are your slimline tricks? ODB Scripture Collection 6; Friendly Hello DSP (retired); Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Cross of Hope, Golf Club & Smooth Sailing Dies (all retired); 1" Circle Punch; Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon; #SSC312. ![]() Pumpkin Club July 1! My favorite flower is the tulip, I think - they can come in so many colors! Hands down, the bright and flamboyant parrot tulip is my absolute fave, but I don't have any images of those, lol. So I settled on my favorite tulip stamp set still, 2018's Tranquil Tulips. I love the 3D quality this 2-step stamp set has, and I was thrilled to try it in our new Bubble Bath pink, too - lovely! I added all the trimmings of stems, leaves and a few muscari in Fresh Freesia - my grandma always grew these together! This lovely Numbers quote from Courage & Faith was the perfect sentiment to go with, and I finished with some Brass Butterflies. Love how fresh it all looks! Tranquil Tulips (retired 2018) & Courage & Faith Stamp Sets; Granny Apple Green DSP; Basic White & Bubble Bath CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green, Bubble Bath & Fresh Freesia Inks; Ovals Collection Dies; Brass Butterflies; #TFC81. ![]() Pumpkin Club July 1! I went a little unusual route this round - it's not too obvious that this one is a birthday card, but I DID put a birthday sentiment inside, I swear, lol. I made this fairly simple card for an elderly friend, who loves scripture, lol. We actually were just talking over Psalm 27, and its good guidance, so this seemed perfect! Birthdays are not for the faint of heart, lol. I first did a color wash on watercolor paper in Berry Burst, and deliberately stamped on an edge where I could see some brush strokes, which might not rock everyone's boat, I know. I then stamped the surrounding fronds directly on the card base, and very carefully water-painted them, finishing with our new Tinsel Gems. I know she's going to love this! Courage & Faith Stamp Set; Basic White & Watercolor Paper CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Berry Burst & Granny Apple Green Inks; Water Painters; Stylish Shapes Dies; Berry Burst Tinsel Gems; #AAAB50. ![]() Very nice - this month's If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #180 is for BLUE! This is great color challenge for me, because we have LOTS of new blues to play with now with our color refresh! One of the best showcases of this is our glorious Countryside Inn DSP, too - I've been using it a lot, lol. I'm also super excited to ink up the new Courage & Faith set - SO thrilled to have this one! I love scripture sets, and we don't make many! This one is just beautiful, with extra stamp details to add as well! I couldn't resist fussy cutting these two wines to add around my pretty Proverbs 3:5 sentiment - lovely! Courage & Faith Stamp Set; Countryside Inn DSP; Basic White, Night of Navy & Boho Blue CS; Night of Navy Ink; Boho Blue Blends Marker; Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Tinsel Gems; #Cookie180. ![]() Whew, I'm so glad NBUS #44 has rolled over again - I have a couple new toys that need some ink! It's pretty rare for me to stray from my Mother Ship, as readers know - but one thing I can't resist is really good scripture sets! Trust me, I buy all the ones Stampin' Up makes, hoping they get the hint to produce more, lol. A friend turned me on to this company, Stamp Simply, and I was smitten! Today's sentiment is from their Autumn Blessings set, and I love it! Corinthians always reminds us of everything we need to know! Stamp Simply Autumn Blessings Stamp Set; Happy Forest Friends DSP; Basic White, Mossy Meadow & Old Olive CS; Early Espresso Ink; Stylish Shapes & Splendid Stems Dies; Matte Old Olive Dots; #NBUS44. ![]() Holiday Packaging Class 2022 Nov 19! RSVP now to save your spot! ![]() So excited that we have a tic-tac-toe challenge this week at Retro Rubber #187! And it will go great with our "create your own DSP" theme at SU Only #306! I always have such a hard time playing tic-tac-toe with cards, lol - too much choice! I finally settled on the right hand column - diecut, copper and patterned paper, which I made myself, of course. And somehow I still had "green" on the brain, lol, since I went all Soft Succulent to boot! Anyway, I first created a stamped off background using my still-beloved Timeless Textures from 2019 - the set with the coffee rings?? Never letting that one go, lol. I then added a sentiment from the current Hope & Prayer, stamped on a Tasteful Label. I wrapped up with some copper sequins. Love this quite card! I can't wait to see YOUR project this round - meet you there! Timeless Textures (retired 2019) and Hope & Prayer Stamp Sets; Soft Succulent & Very Vanilla CS; Soft Succulent Ink; Tasteful Labels Dies (retired); Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon; Copper Sequins; #RRCB187; #SUOC306. ![]() OK, this is a gimme for me, lol, The Sisterhood of Crafters would like us to add layers this week! No problemo! I decided on some simple layers, highlighting our still-gorgeous Sun Prints DSP. I'm also continuing my love-affair with our new Deckled Rectangle Dies, too, my new go-to dies, it seems. One of my favorite things to do on larger dies is make "custom" sizes with them, running through a second time to take off a "bite," as I did today to make my sentiment layer. Check it out - I'm still all matchy-matchy! Hope & Prayer Stamp Set; Sun Prints DSP; Basic White & Sahara Sand CS; Night of Navy Ink; Blender Pen; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Elegant Faceted Gems; #TSOCAddLayers. ![]() Such a fun cue this week at Shopping Our Stash #464 - "you deserve a hand!" I knew right away what set I wanted to use, too, lol. I've had this set from Our Daily Bread called Lift Up Our Hands since 2009, and I haven't used it since then, lol. I think I originally got it because it went so perfectly with the theme our church used to use for their annual auction, which was called "Hearts & Hands." We don't have that event any more {SOB} but this Lamentation quote is just as awesome! So nice to get it out again! Lift Up Our Hands by Our Daily Bread Stamp Set; Flowering Fields DSP; Basic White, Early Espresso & Petal Pink CS; Petal Pink & Early Espresso Inks; Artisan Pearls (retired); #SOS464. ![]() Now THIS is a cool challenge for Christmas Day! Time Out Challenges #203 wants us to be inspired by "inspiration!" So many possibilities! So, I got to thinking about how a scripture quote could be perfect for this challenge, and after I spotted this gorgeous paper in our upcoming Flowering Fields DSP, I knew just which one I wanted, and it's not too shabby for Christmas Day either, lol, and I even got in lots of layers. So much wonderful scripture inspires me, especially "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given." Glory to the newborn King. God Verses 2 by Our Daily Bread; Flowering Fields DSP; Basic White, Coastal Cabana & Soft Suede CS; Soft Suede & Coastal Cabana Stamp-n-Write Markers; Layering Circles Dies; Frosted Epoxy Droplets; #TOC203. ![]() Pumpkin Club January 1!
