Oo, there's a cool blobby sketch at AAA Cards #274 this week - so many ways to go! After a little dithering, I went and rescued my Textures & Frames stamp set from the sale box, lol. I can do blobs! Lol... Anyway, I then pulled a somewhat random set of colors from my Brights collection, and then went looking for a sentiment that would fit in the space. As soon as I saw this Psalm 27 quote from Courage & Faith, I knew this was it! I was going to go embellishment-free this time, but then I got a tiny black smudge on there somehow, still not quite sure how it happened. So, then I HAD to cover it up with a Matte Black Dot, of course! This free-form style was really fun! Courage & Faith and Textures & Frames (retired 2021) Stamp Sets; Basic White CS; Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Pumpkin Pie, Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Matte Black Dots; #AAA274. Another cute combo at this round's In{k}spire Me #539 - I think I'll stick with just the sketch, though! While I was super excited by that fun cloud shape in the sketch, I ended up going with a simpler oval - and I couldn't resist showing off some pretty DSP while I was at it! I still have quite a bit of the still-available Perennial Lavender pack, and I decided to pair this pretty sheet with our retired Soft Succulent CS - and I think it goes great! I went back to my old Ovals Collection dies, so I could give myself plenty of room to stamp these leafy fronds with my sentiment - I thought they would go better with the lavender and wildflowers than the berries. I did a quick coloring with my Blends Markers, and finished with some Purple Fine Shimmer Gems - yum! Love this look! Courage & Faith Stamp Set; Perennial Lavender DSP; Basic White & Soft Succulent (retired) CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Soft Succulent (retired) & Blackberry Bliss Blends Markers; Ovals Collection Dies (retired); White Baker's Twine; Purple Fine Shimmer Gems; #IMC539. We have some fresh summer colors for you this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #442! I always struggle with colors in the pastel range, lol, and today was no exception! I tried three different ways to make them work for Country Birdhouse, but I just didn't like it, lol. Then I spotted my new You Are Beautiful stamp set on my desk - I almost forgot this came in a couple days ago! With the pretty swooshy leaves and beautiful sentiments, how could I resist? I kept it all really simple - my favorite sentiment right in the middle, simple stamped and stamped off leaves and accents... I finished with a few Petunia Pop Shimmer Gems to match the sentiment, and a pretty botanical strip of DSP for the envelope. Problem solved! I can't wait to see YOUR lovely projects in these fun colors - meet you at the challenge! You Are Beautiful Stamp Set; Petunia Pop DSP; Basic White CS; Petunia Pop, Summer Splash & Daffodil Delight Inks; Petunia Pop Shimmer Gems; #HSS442. Summer Fun Card Class July 13! These beautiful colors and the leaves reminded me so much of our new Frames & Flowers Specialty DSP that I knew I needed to use that for today's card! The scripture quote from Revelations cinched that I'd add some scripture, too - yay! I chose this verse from Psalm 34, and finished with the diecut pieces from the DSP pack, along with some tiny silver pearls - I LOVE how it came out! I can't wait to see YOUR choices from our lovely inspo board this round - meet you at the challenge! Stamp Simply Blessings/Beatitudes 1 Stamp Set; Frames & Flowers DSP; Basic White, Lost Lagoon & Soft Sea Foam CS; Early Espresso Ink; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Silver Pearls; #HSS438. So peaceful - AAA Colorful #3 is back with a new color board for us - like a gorgeous sky! The pretty color board made me think of our new Under the Moon set, so I used that "water" stamp from that to make my background - I love how it came out! I chose Pool Party, Lemon Lolly and Petal Pink to carry it off then went hunting for a good sentiment to finish with. It's been so long since I stamped with the Courage & Faith set, I knew right away I wanted to ink this beauty up! I finished with a few Petal Pink gems, keeping it super simple! Fun! Under the Moon and Courage & Faith Stamp Sets; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Lemon Lolly & Petal Pink Inks; Petal Pink Solid Faceted Gems; #AAAC3. Lol, we have such an awesome fill-in-the-blank challenge for you this round at As You See It #316! What was YOUR latest crafting purchase?? My latest stamp set is the Quiet Reflection set, which I got for an upcoming class. I sometimes find the DistINKtive style of stamps a little challenging to work with, but this one went more smoothly than for me! After a couple experiments, I opted for this "stamped off" version, as a little softer in my chosen colors, and then I layered everything up to the max using my Rectangle Stitched dies. I was able to sneak in a couple SAB goodies, too - love that! I can't wait to get a peek at YOUR new toys! Meet you at the challenge! Quiet Reflection Stamp Set; Softly Stippled DSP; Basic White, Pebbled Path & Calypso Coral CS; Calypso Coral & Pebbled Path Inks; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Calypso Coral Opague Faceted Gems; Calypso Coral Baker's Twine; #AYSI316. This class can also be free with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for February 10 at 2 pm - RSVP now to save your spot! We're visiting the diagonal this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #419! I had a hard time choosing my papers to get me started with this one - and I wanted to try something different! I finally spotted my retired pack of By The Bay DSP, and really liked this fish sheet. It sort of reminds me of The Chosen's "different" theme, which led me to my Courage & Faith set, lol. See how my mind works?? Anyway, I really went with more subtle colors than I usually do, but I really like how this came together, and such a great quote! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our tilty sketch this round - meet you at the challenge! Courage & Faith Stamp Set; By The Bay DSP; Basic White, Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink & Pool Party CS; Pecan Pie Ink; Stylish Shapes Dies; Painted Textures EF; Soft Sea Foam Sheer Ribbon; Whale of a Time Sequins (retired); #HSS419. I'm loving our slimline-esque sketch at this round's Sunday Stamps #312! I usually avoid slimlines - envelopes are a bit problematic, and, So. Much. Real Estate. Lol. It has always seemed like a lot of space to fill, is all, though of course one could adjust the dimension. I was determined to get through it today, though! I started with DSP, since I knew I'd be making a custom envelope. I chose a retired pack since I needed a BIG piece, lol. From there, I chose my longest and skinniest stamp, lol, which happened to be this quote of Psalm 84, from Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection 6. Whew! From there I had some space to fill, so I constructed this sun and shield using dies - we need an awesome sun set, don't you think? I can't wait to see YOUR projects with our fun sketch this round - what are your slimline tricks? ODB Scripture Collection 6; Friendly Hello DSP (retired); Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Cross of Hope, Golf Club & Smooth Sailing Dies (all retired); 1" Circle Punch; Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon; #SSC312. Aw, this is a sweet one - The Flower Challenge #81 would like us to use our favorite flower! My favorite flower is the tulip, I think - they can come in so many colors! Hands down, the bright and flamboyant parrot tulip is my absolute fave, but I don't have any images of those, lol. So I settled on my favorite tulip stamp set still, 2018's Tranquil Tulips. I love the 3D quality this 2-step stamp set has, and I was thrilled to try it in our new Bubble Bath pink, too - lovely! I added all the trimmings of stems, leaves and a few muscari in Fresh Freesia - my grandma always grew these together! This lovely Numbers quote from Courage & Faith was the perfect sentiment to go with, and I finished with some Brass Butterflies. Love how fresh it all looks! Tranquil Tulips (retired 2018) & Courage & Faith Stamp Sets; Granny Apple Green DSP; Basic White & Bubble Bath CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green, Bubble Bath & Fresh Freesia Inks; Ovals Collection Dies; Brass Butterflies; #TFC81. I'm loving AAA Birthday #50's June challenge - I love water color so much! I went a little unusual route this round - it's not too obvious that this one is a birthday card, but I DID put a birthday sentiment inside, I swear, lol. I made this fairly simple card for an elderly friend, who loves scripture, lol. We actually were just talking over Psalm 27, and its good guidance, so this seemed perfect! Birthdays are not for the faint of heart, lol. I first did a color wash on watercolor paper in Berry Burst, and deliberately stamped on an edge where I could see some brush strokes, which might not rock everyone's boat, I know. I then stamped the surrounding fronds directly on the card base, and very carefully water-painted them, finishing with our new Tinsel Gems. I know she's going to love this! Courage & Faith Stamp Set; Basic White & Watercolor Paper CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Berry Burst & Granny Apple Green Inks; Water Painters; Stylish Shapes Dies; Berry Burst Tinsel Gems; #AAAB50. |
