We'd like you to keep it CAS this round at Make My Monday #270 - whatever that means to you! To me, CAS means lots of white (or whatever your base color is, lol) space, and I skirted the edge a little of my own definition for today's card! I got to looking at my DSP tower, and realized that I haven't yet used my Hobby Haven pack! This DSP is meant to be part of the Creative Haven suite, I think it was originally an Online Exclusive, but the stamp set and dies didn't immediately grab me, lol. I might have to revisit that, but the DSP features sheets of all kinds of hobbies - cooking, sewing, plants - you name it! There's even two sheets of lovely diecuts with it! I went for a little chunk of the cooking sheet today, to go with this Psalm 34 quote - a little bit of a play on words - get it? I can't wait to see your CAS creations, too - meet you at the challenge! Stamp Simply Blessings/Beatitudes 1 Stamp Set; Hobby Haven DSP; Basic White & Secret Sea CS; Secret Sea Ink; Secret Sea Flat Pearls; #MMM270.

Fun one - Inspire Create Challenge #206 is have a "monochrome" challenge this round! I knew right away I wanted to pull in a couple new sets for this one! The gorgeous and versatile Aspen Grove set is perfect for a monochrome Old Olive card with touches of black and white! And for my sentiment, I couldn't resist John 14:27 from the upcoming Prayers & Promises set - these two go together so well! I embossed my Old Olive background with our Birch Wood 3D folder, then stamped my trees on the largest Stylish stitched square. Some stamped and stamped off leaves along the top pulled in my chosen color! The sentiment fit perfectly on one of the stitched circles, too! I tied on some Old Olive Linen Thread, and finished with a few Old Olive Speckled Dots. So pretty! Aspen Grove and Prayers & Promises Stamp Sets; Old Olive DSP (retired, on envelope); Basic White, Basic Black & Old Olive CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Old Olive Inks; Stylish Shapes Dies; Birch Wood 3D EF; Old Olive Linen Thread; Old Olive Speckled Dots; #ICC206. Such fun summer colors we have at this round of Sunday Stamps #366! These sweet colors just cried out to be blended onto our gorgeous Layers of Beauty bundle - I couldn't resist! With 5 layers of masks, that's just enough to hit all the colors, too! After I colored up my gorgeous blooms, I kept it simple and did a plain embossed White background - just the right touch, I think, as is the little blessings tag that I haven't used yet! I can't wait to see YOUR creations with our fresh colors - meet you at the challenge! Layers of Beauty Stamp Set & Hybrid Dies w Masks; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Daffodil Delight, Peach Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party & Fresh Freesia Inks; Blending Brushes; So Swirly EF; Peach Pie Resin Dots; Pumpkin Pie Heavy Baker's Twine; #SSC366. This should be fun - CAS on Friday #307 would like us to use a stencil! Bring on the blending brushes! I went first and nabbed my all-time favorite stencil - this sort of stained glass looking one from our retired Plenty of Patterns pack - it's always so fun! I set up a corner blend in blues first, and went ahead and did my envelope flap while I had it all out. Then I chose Faith Collection for my stamp set. Doesn't the cross look cool over the blues? I added the sentiment below, too, and then finished with a few blue Glossy Dots. I think it came out so pretty! Faith Collection Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party & Azure Afternoon Inks; Plenty of Patterns Masks (retired); Blue Glossy Dots; #CASOF307. Oo, SU Only #367 has a fabulous sketch for us this round! I really wanted to show off some pretty DSP with this sketch, and I couldn't wait to break into my new Everyday Skies DSP pack! Gorgeous bold skies in all colors, so dramatic - I couldn't resist, lol. They also make a perfect backdrop for scripture or faith encouragement, so I pulled in another new set for me - Faith Collection from our latest Online Exclusives! While it has a couple new crosses to play with, and brilliant dies, of course, there's also this lovely sentiment, which I inked up for today - beautiful! There's some lovely Easter phrases, too, but I can tell I'll be using this one a lot! Faith Collection Stamp Set; Everyday Skies DSP; Basic White, Bubble Bath & Blueberry Bushel CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Adhesive-Backed Birds; #SUOC367. Oo, there's a cool blobby sketch at AAA Cards #274 this week - so many ways to go! After a little dithering, I went and rescued my Textures & Frames stamp set from the sale box, lol. I can do blobs! Lol... Anyway, I then pulled a somewhat random set of colors from my Brights collection, and then went looking for a sentiment that would fit in the space. As soon as I saw this Psalm 27 quote from Courage & Faith, I knew this was it! I was going to go embellishment-free this time, but then I got a tiny black smudge on there somehow, still not quite sure how it happened. So, then I HAD to cover it up with a Matte Black Dot, of course! This free-form style was really fun! Courage & Faith and Textures & Frames (retired 2021) Stamp Sets; Basic White CS; Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Pumpkin Pie, Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Matte Black Dots; #AAA274. Another cute combo at this round's In{k}spire Me #539 - I think I'll stick with just the sketch, though! While I was super excited by that fun cloud shape in the sketch, I ended up going with a simpler oval - and I couldn't resist showing off some pretty DSP while I was at it! I still have quite a bit of the still-available Perennial Lavender pack, and I decided to pair this pretty sheet with our retired Soft Succulent CS - and I think it goes great! I went back to my old Ovals Collection dies, so I could give myself plenty of room to stamp these leafy fronds with my sentiment - I thought they would go better with the lavender and wildflowers than the berries. I did a quick coloring with my Blends Markers, and finished with some Purple Fine Shimmer Gems - yum! Love this look! Courage & Faith Stamp Set; Perennial Lavender DSP; Basic White & Soft Succulent (retired) CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Soft Succulent (retired) & Blackberry Bliss Blends Markers; Ovals Collection Dies (retired); White Baker's Twine; Purple Fine Shimmer Gems; #IMC539. We have some fresh summer colors for you this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #442! I always struggle with colors in the pastel range, lol, and today was no exception! I tried three different ways to make them work for Country Birdhouse, but I just didn't like it, lol. Then I spotted my new You Are Beautiful stamp set on my desk - I almost forgot this came in a couple days ago! With the pretty swooshy leaves and beautiful sentiments, how could I resist? I kept it all really simple - my favorite sentiment right in the middle, simple stamped and stamped off leaves and accents... I finished with a few Petunia Pop Shimmer Gems to match the sentiment, and a pretty botanical strip of DSP for the envelope. Problem solved! I can't wait to see YOUR lovely projects in these fun colors - meet you at the challenge! You Are Beautiful Stamp Set; Petunia Pop DSP; Basic White CS; Petunia Pop, Summer Splash & Daffodil Delight Inks; Petunia Pop Shimmer Gems; #HSS442. Summer Fun Card Class July 13! These beautiful colors and the leaves reminded me so much of our new Frames & Flowers Specialty DSP that I knew I needed to use that for today's card! The scripture quote from Revelations cinched that I'd add some scripture, too - yay! I chose this verse from Psalm 34, and finished with the diecut pieces from the DSP pack, along with some tiny silver pearls - I LOVE how it came out! I can't wait to see YOUR choices from our lovely inspo board this round - meet you at the challenge! Stamp Simply Blessings/Beatitudes 1 Stamp Set; Frames & Flowers DSP; Basic White, Lost Lagoon & Soft Sea Foam CS; Early Espresso Ink; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Silver Pearls; #HSS438. So peaceful - AAA Colorful #3 is back with a new color board for us - like a gorgeous sky! The pretty color board made me think of our new Under the Moon set, so I used that "water" stamp from that to make my background - I love how it came out! I chose Pool Party, Lemon Lolly and Petal Pink to carry it off then went hunting for a good sentiment to finish with. It's been so long since I stamped with the Courage & Faith set, I knew right away I wanted to ink this beauty up! I finished with a few Petal Pink gems, keeping it super simple! Fun! Under the Moon and Courage & Faith Stamp Sets; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Lemon Lolly & Petal Pink Inks; Petal Pink Solid Faceted Gems; #AAAC3. |
