So the first thing I did was go back through my old class sheets for the pop-up box crib notes - I was shocked that it was way back in 2014 that we did that class! Yikees! Luckily, I got to up date a little with some fun Wood Textures DSP, and this cute critter gang from We Must Celebrate. Why am I such a sucker for the cute little fur balls? Lol, oh well. I think I knew I was going to do this one because we accidentally came across Over the Hedge this past weekend - had to trot out my latest "ring-tailed charlatan," lol. You get 'em, guys.  What a cool layered sketch from Case This Sketch #256! I'm going for it with In{k}spire Me #335's colors, too! After mulling it over a while, I finally decided I could really only see all these colors together on ice cream, and I have an AWESOME stamp set for that, lol. Who wouldn't love a little stacked row of ice cream cones like these? I'm just finishing off my week 3 of a three cleanse, so I'm pretty much having dreams about these babies every night! Or maybe it's nightmares?? Lol, either way, so glad I had some fun inspiration to pull this together! This one was a toughie for me. I finally hit on Flourishing Phrases - I'm finding that the pretty winding vines and buds are perfect vehicles for adding just touches of colors, when you want to keep things from going too far. Of course, it also lends itself pretty heavily to OEI (over-embellish-itis), so I have to be firm with myself, too, lol. I added a few stamped background elements and fussy cut a few leaves, in the end, I'm stoked with how this came out! Even the sequins work out great!  Freshly Made Sketch #321 has this fun layout for us today - let's try it with Color Throwdown #477. When I went hunting for some likely "any" shapes for the sketch, I kept coming back to Color Me Happy - I just love those paper lanterns! I kept the card pretty sparse per the sketch, but tried to sneak in a little detail - the background paper is an old sheet from a Paper Pumpkin kit, as are those sparkly orange sequins. And of course, any chance to play with my Blends is awesome!  Sunday Stamps #171 is back with a gorgeous color challenge for us! I have this fun sketch from Global Design Project #122 to help me along as well! So, I'm pretty sure I'm not famous for my use of pink, so this card was a real stretch for me, lol. When I have color challenges like this, it always turns into the great DSP hunt to try and fill in my gaps! Today, that turned out to not be such a big deal (especially since I did NOT get the perfect-for-this-challenge Sure Do Love You Suite, shh!) Let's just say, with a grumpy 18 year old on my hands these days, I REALLY miss grade school class treats, lol. I had some fun today trying to stick with current papers, but reviving one of my fave hearts ever from SU! - from the PS I Love You set. So sweet!  I love the theme at this week's Fusion - coffee and a book! How to get it all in there with the sketch?? This one was a stumper, lol. I just sat and stared and thought and spun my wheels for a WHILE. Could I make a bookcase background? Could I make up book spines somehow? Finally I reined myself in, and realized I could place a cuppa over a book page, with my old Typeset Specialty DSP. Whew! I am SO happy with how this came together, simple and warm, perfect for a cozy snuggle on a lazy rainy afternoon. Yay! Looking at the sketch, I realized this is the perfect layout for showcasing some gorgeous new DSP, and I ran right to Sweet Soiree. This paper is listed as "specialty," because it's all heavier weight, like a light cardstock. I love how substantial it is - helps me keep my layers trim! I also browsed for a good "awesome friend" sentiment, and came across Window Shopping. I found this large sentiment in a fun font and knew I was good - this card was unbelievably fast and easy, but so cute!
