Oh, wow! Check out the adorable "Cabin in Winter" cookies at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #212! Eee! This of course calls for Woodland Scenery, along with the ever-versatile Wishing You Joy! I broke my scene up into 3 different Stylish Squares, and added a touch of Puff Paint to the snow lines - this stuff is so fun to heat emboss, lol. I even added some Loose Snowflakes for accents that look pretty similar to the ones on the cookies! This set is such a playful one for setting up little scenes - it's like rearranging the doll house when I was a kid! Woodland Scenery & Wishing You Joy Stamp Sets; North Pole Delivery DSP; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate & Pool Party Inks; Stylish Shapes Dies; Snowfall Accents Puff Paint; Loose Snowflakes; #Cookie212.

Woo hoo! I get to play at another new-to-me challenge! Inspired By #369 is throwing a snowman party! This is such a darling inspo pic - I got a lot from it! First off, what adorable snowmen! And I love their bright colors against the cool blues! So that's what I went with, AND, I also just realized I haven't ever stamped the little snowman for our Jar of Joy set!! Gotta fix that right now! I went with three jars, and gave each snowman a bright scarf and hatband - such a cinch with the two (or more, lol) step stamping! I colored in all their little noses, and added a touch of Pool Party to their snow drifts - at the last second, I spotted the little snowflake pattern stamp and added that around my spiffy dudes, too. This was such fun to create! Jar of Joy Stamp Set; North Pole Delivery DSP; Basic White, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo & Azure Afternoon CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo & Azure Afternoon Inks; Pumpkin Pie & Pool Party Blends Markers; Sweet Jar Builder Punch; Sunny Day Iridescent Dots; #IB369. I'm super excited to feature new sets and suites from our Spring Mini Catty and Online Exclusives, too! So fun! Class will feature 6 cards with envelopes, all supplies provided and prepped - just bring your own scissors and favorite adhesive, all for $25! Class can also be free with your catalog or online purchase of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, January 10 at 2 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! I haven't played here for quite a while - but Cardz 4 Guyz #381 is for Christmas Critters, and you KNOW I have to do that! I decided to check out the vault for this one, and came across Christmas Scottie from 2022! He's such a cutie, and he even has a punch, lol. I decided to set him up a background of this festive Need For Tweed DSP sheet, then did some Stylish Shapes dies for some contrast on my stamping! I do love this "furry & Bright" sentiment, and rather than his punched bow, I gave my Scottie so Baker's Twine for a cute bow-tie! I think it came out so cute - and I finished with some random Cherry Cobbler dots I found in the embellishment bin - I think leftover from a kit? They were just right! Christmas Scottie Stamp Set (retired 2022); Need For Tweed DSP; Basic White & Cherry Cobbler CS; Cherry Cobbler & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Stylish Shapes Dies; Scottie Dog Punch (retired); Real Red Baker's Twine; Cherry Cobbler Dots; #C4G381. Another new-to-me challenge to try is Inkspirational Challenge #357! They have a code word this round - "cold!" For me, thinking cold is all about snowflakes, which might also be because I live in the desert and don't see the cold stuff too often, lol. This seemed like a perfect prompt to finally break in the big beautiful detailed snowflake die in our Snowy Delights bundle - I've been so distracted by the layered stencils, I hadn't gotten around to it yet! I also remembered this ultra-snowy sheet from our old Storybook Gnomes DSP, too, for the perfect chilly background! I pulled out the retired Pacific Point colors to make it all happen, and was once again pleased by my foresight in stashing the coordinating Fine Sparkle Gems into the DSP pack, lol. Sometimes I really do use the old noggin! Snowy Delights Stamp Set & Dies; Storybook Gnomes DSP; Basic White & Pacific Point (retired) CS; Pacific Point Ink (retired); Pacific Point Fine Sparkle Gems (retired); #IC357. As often happens towards the end of the year for me, I'm checking out a couple new challenges this week to fill in some gaps! I came across Sweet Stampin', and their December "It's Christmas!" challenge first! Yay! I went straight for our Jar of Joy bundle, mostly because it has the "sweetest" sentiment, lol. I had an idea that I wanted to do some angled stripes in DSP across the card front, and thought some beautiful woodgrain might look a little bit like a table maybe, lol. I don't think that really came across, but I do love this darker woodgrain against the Real Red! I layered two jars over that, one for some "sweets," and one for the sentiment. Some Real Red Baker's Twine and a few Peppermint Dots make the perfect finish! Jar of Joy Stamp Set; Country Woods & Take a Bow (retired) DSP; Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pecan Pie & Real Red Inks; Sweet Jar Builder Punch; Real Red Baker's Twine; Peppermint Dots; #SSDEC. Such a super farm idea for Farm Quest #78 - a Christmas tree farm! I'm so game! So I instantly knew that I'd be pulling out my old Trees For Sale bundle for this one - how could I not?! By supreme effort of will, I did NOT cut out a cute little camper with the dies, and kept my eyes on the trees, lol. I made a mini tree lot scene, complete with for sale sign, and tree lot doggo running amok, lol. Quick and easy, and it looks even cuter over a panel embossed with the old Whimsical Woodland EF, too! Trees For Sale Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White & Shaded Spruce CS; Shaded Spruce, Pecan Pie, Early Espresso, Memento Tuxedo Black & Real Red Inks; Real Red, Daffodil Delight & Azure Afternoon Blends Markers; Tree Lot Dies (retired); Whimsical Woodland EF (retired); Red Sequins; #FQCB78. Just in time for Christmas Eve - CAS on Friday #324 wants to see some snowflakes! I can't resist pulling out the lovely Snowy Delights bundle again for this one - those snowflake stencils are just a delight! I have so enjoyed playing with these, and I did a partial snowflake in blues, over white on white layering. The little points of Cherry Cobbler make the perfect final layer, and I couldn't resist a trio of tiny Cherry Cobbler sequins, too. Love it so much! And Merry Christmas to all! Snowy Delights Stamp Set & Decorative Masks; Basic White CS; Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Pretty Peacock & Cherry Cobbler Inks; Blending Brushes; Cherry Cobbler Sequins; #CASOF324. Love the beautiful Santa inspiration image over at First Cup Challenge #9! Yay! I'm dipping back into my Making Spirits Bright set from 2014 - this is still SUCH a favorite of mine! I love this festive drink, with its candy cane stirrer and cute holly decor - this is what I want to drink Christmas Eve! I colored up the fun image and floated it over this playful background sheet from our old Sweet Stockings DSP - I love all the colorful patterns! Making Spirits Bright Stamp Set (retired 2014); Sweet Stockings DSP (retired); Basic White & Cherry Cobbler CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler & Mossy Meadow Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Cherry Cobbler Satin Ribbon; Cherry Cobbler Berries; #FCC9. Such a pretty challenge! AAA Cards #305 is having an "anything goes" challenge, with an optional white-on-white twist - and I haven't done one this year! I think I'll make it a no-stamping special, too, lol. I suddenly realized that I hadn't even opened my Traditional Wreath EF - it's giant! But how cool does it look in partial on my white panel? I can totally see experimenting with adding subtle washes of color over this - it's gorgeous! I decided to stack up some "cheers" Greetings Dies for my sentiment to go with - this one is four layers for the dimension. Then, in a fit of madness, I added tiny silver pearls over all the berries showing on the wreath - 21! Once I started I just couldn't stop, lol. At least it looks elegant, lol... Basic White CS; Traditional Wreath EF; Greetings Dies (retired); Festive Pearls; #AAA305. For their December challenge, The Male Room #205 would like to see red and green for our Merry Gentlemen! You got it! I went to the vault for this one, lol - so fun to pull out Smitten Mittens from 2017! I slipped in some Take A Bow DSP for some green accents, then cranked out my red mittens! I love that the cute sentiment is shaped like one of the mittens, lol, and that dies cut mittens going both ways! I did a solid red one for the righty, but then I embossed it with my old Winter Knit EF. I added some Real Red Baker's Twine for the keeper strand, and finished with some Peppermint Dots - love those so much! Smitten Mittens Stamp Set (retired 2017); Take A Bow DSP (retired); Basic White & Garden Green CS; Real Red Ink; Many Mittens Dies (retired); Winter Knit EF (retired); Real Red Baker's Twine; Peppermint Dots; #TMR205. Christmas Roundup Class Dec 20, 2 pm After all the time off I've taken, I hope you can make it for my last gathering of the year - a little Christmas Roundup! This free "appreciation" class will clean out a last few holiday items I have lingering, and will be a chance for us to gather and share some holiday cheer! I'll also have your Spring Mini Catties for us to oh and ah over! Want to bring some cookies to share? That'd be awesome, and I'll have my own snacks and drinks on hand as well! Christmas Roundup is set for Saturday, December 20 at 2 pm - RSVP to let me know you're coming! |
