 When I saw this week's Sunday Stamps #63's Color Challenge, I did a little dance in my office! YES! Bringin' in the Lucky Limeade! (Retired-{SOB}) On top of that, looking at the fresh prints on the inspiration linens, I also immediately jumped to Paper Pumpkin - there have been several patterned stamps in the kits, that are just perfect for this whole challenge! I'm in love with how this card came out as well - I thought it up all on my owney-oh, too! The patterns are achieved by first punching out three different circle sizes from Post-It notes, making sure to punch on the sticky part. I used the punched note as a stencil, and the leftover punched circle as a mask where needed. I assigned colors based on the textiles pictured, and "stamped off" in a few places to vary the color saturation. So fun! Loved this color combo!  As soon as I saw the sketch at Clean & Simple #267, I knew I'd be trotting out my new Regarding Dahlias stamp set - how not when the sketch shows that big beautiful blossom top and center?? I also found a couple jars of colored embossing powder that I've never even opened, oops! So I decided to trot that out, too - kinda refreshing to have reds and greens NOT on a holiday card, lol... Regarding Dahlias & En Francais stamp sets; Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White CS; Pear Pizzazz, Cherry Cobbler & Versamark inks; Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder; Regals Candy Dots.

Spreading cheer never looked so good!  OK, I thought I dug pretty deep last week for My Pumpkin Challenge #1113 - Gifts. Good thing I left the shovel handy! This week, I finally played with one of my first ideas when I saw the Memo Medley Pumpkin Kit - making that weird orange band into a bracelet! My original idea was to try to stamp it with Staz-On, and add some bling somehow, that I could also make some stretch with. So, that was not a successful experiment, let's just say. I'm sure all the Staz-On under my nails will come out eventually, lol! Next up, some kind of ribbon wrap, with buttons and embellies - success! I used a black gingham ribbon I found, to help set off the metal accents of the Ribbon Slides, and stuck mainly to the Regals Button collection for my color choices - I like it! I went back around a second time to go criss-cross through the slides only, for added stability in taking the bracelet on and off. It's actually quite comfie - though my daughter just ran off with it, so I guess I won't be seeing much of it! For this card, I decided to play with the sweet photopolymer set Endless Wishes. I feel a bit of conflict about this - I finally broke down and ordered it, and the next day it sold out, never to return! I was flabbergasted! I've been enjoying these stamps sets so much, I forgot the fine print way back when they first started coming out - they're a little experiment, and are only available while supplies for that set last. Eek! Endless Wishes is the first photopolymer set to sell out, followed by Designer Typeset a few days later. Goodness, I hope these babies come back! I really do like how well they work - hopefully the selling out will be the signal SU! needs to keep on producing them! You never knew that's the main way I choose what verses to use, did you? Though, really, they all engage me on one level or another, I must say. I expect to be using every last speck of this birch paper trim from the Thankful Tablescapes kit, too, lol. Seemed just right to match a birch leaf on there as well! I have been loving the dramatic swashes of color I see laid over the larger text image, so I decided this was my chance to try it in neutrals - makes for a great guy card, too, I think! We received an email from our vet's office this weekend that the beloved office cat, who has served as pet ambassador for all the time we've known them, passed away from his long bout with cancer. He was such a sweet cat. He slept on the counter (or the phone, or the keyboard) but was always up for a chin scratch and a snuggle. He was endlessly curious about everyone who came through the doors, whatever species! So good for our excitable canine hoard as well, he was always totally calm, even when he needed to deliver a corrective nose-swat to the overly familiar. We'll miss you, Mac. Go with love. For this week's Pumpkin Gift at My Pumpkin Challenge #1113, I decided to give MYSELF a present, lol! One of the MANY cool things about Paper Pumpkin is that it comes with everything you need to create the featured project. Now, I know I haven't done a "featured" project yet (ahem), but, well, I'm starting to accumulated some pumpkin stuff. Paper stuff and scraps go in their own baggy, stamps are going in some Pumpkin stamp cases I started, but so far, all the Stampin' Spots have been taking up real estate in one of my project baskets. And at Christmas-time, that is some primo real estate! I have NO project baskets to spare! Thus, my Spot Storage Box was born! This gives me somewhere tidy to keep all these little suckers, til I can move them along to another home - I never open them since I have full-size version of all the colors anyway! Had a fun afternoon making my Pumpkin Mosaic for the storage box insert! Want to make your own? Dimensions are 11 1/4" x 7", scored on the long edge at 5" and 6 1/4".
