 Wow, loving these bright candy colors at this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments #315! I'm so excited to combine them with this fun layered sketch from Paper Craft Crew #338! These colors definitely sent me straight out to the soon-to-be-retired Sweetest Thing suite - can't beat that bright and cheery paper! I tried to sneak a little bit of everything in there, and have a nice farewell party going here, I think, lol... Surprisingly, I have used just about every scrap I have of this How Sweet It Is DSP - I wouldn't have thought I would, but yay for no leftovers! Lol...  Oh hooray! It feels like it's been a bit since I got to play at tic-tac-toe, and how fun it will be to add that twist with Retro Rubber #111! After a quick study, I think I'll go with the center horizontal of "cake-flowers-one layer" - I have just the thing! I'm so pleased that Piece of Cake is one of our carrying over sets - and this pretty wedding cake assembly isn't one I've gotten to use too much yet, so even better! I kept it bare bones for a clean and simple one layer, and since I was so sparing, I feel like my three shiny sequins are not too over the top, lol. Quick and pretty - the best of all cards! Something fun (and holly!) for Christmas! I had a great time coloring in all his details with my Blends, and then I even found my old Holly Textured EF - so much holly madness, lol... Sigh, so fun, I love a good Christmas challenge! I floated it over a panel of my fave color from Gingham Gala - the Lemon Lime Twist - and matched it up with some shades of Mango. Yummy!  OK, Fusion's "Hedgehog Scooter" combo is adorable! I don't know WHAT way to go with this one, lol. So, the very sad truth is that I have NO hedgehogs - how can that be?? Hopefully I'll get a chance to rectify that soon, lol. So that leaves me the awesome sketch, and it looked to me like a perfect chance to show off some of our upcoming gorgeous DSP - from the Woven Threads pack. So pretty! It shows some new In Colors, too - can't get any better! I paired it up with this encouraging sentiment from the String & Beautiful set - can't believe I almost let this one get away, lol. I stamped in the new Pretty Peacock, and added some Peacock accents as well - check out the new In Color Faceted Dots! So excited that we have so many choices for our In Color embellishments this year! So, knowing how much shrinky-dink actually shrinks, I had to figure out something fun that might actually still show some color after cooking. I decided doing some fun shades in the challenge colors might work, and so I went to town - luckily I have Blends in all these colors! After I was all shrinkied, I wasn't sure if teh results weren't too dark - maybe I should have stamped this in gray instead of black Staz-On... Anyway, I decided to float each pair of glasses over a fun heart punched in the challenge colors too, in case it was too hard to see. An interesting little exercise - I might need to get more shrinky practice in, lol...  Can you hear that? SU Only #223 is having an "anything Spring" challenge this week, and I think I hear birds singing! Another fun set I got to preview from the new catty, is this lovely hostess set, Believe You Can. I decided to get it because it also matches the dies the go with the Free As a Bird bundle - I love when new goodies can do double duty! In this set, there's a couple options for the dies, AND you can swap out the sentiment in this image for several choices! I figured Thank Yous are always good to have around, and had some fun coloring away with my Blends. I took my colors from the Bird Ballad DSP, which these lovely stripes are from. Spring has sprung! When I started looking for likely dots, I came across Wood Words - this set is retiring, along with its Wood Crate dies - such a fun bundle! I decided the simple circle with its sanded look would be just right, so I stamped and stamped off a few of each of our Fab colors. I love dots so much, lol - they're so happy! A simple sentiment, a few sequins, and we are DONE! Yay! So, what will YOU come up with? I cant wait to see you over at the challenge! I love this CAS game at AAA #140 - use only up to one third of my card, and maybe sneak in some bright colors - fun! Scouting for a stamp set that could be "up to one third" of my card front, I decided to go with one of my new preview sets and use Free As A Bird from the upcoming catty. This row of birds on a branch seemed perfect to me! So, not so much for the bright colors after all, but I tried to keep it fresh and summery - I actually started out coloring with Blends Markers for the branch, and then lost my nerve and switched to aqua-painters for the birds themselves, lol. I really wanted a softer look there! I kept it clean and simple, too, I think the one-third challenge really lends itself to that!
