Oh my gosh, I wish I could show the fun stuff coming for April! As a SU! demonstrator, I get the chance to preview and pre-order select items from upcoming promotions and catalogs - woo hoo! We'll be doing a couple cards from some of these preview items - I'm so excited! The Spring is Blossoming promotion is amazing! While I'm busy getting ready for my April class, I thought I'd share the card instructions from my past classes! Some fun things! The picture here is from my February 2011 class, where we made the fabulous Becky Roberts of Inking Idaho's "Purse-onally Yours" purse with a In Stitches theme! You can get more info on teaching her tutorials here. Clicking on any of the links below will take you to a pdf of the card instruction sheet I give out at my classes. Enjoy!

I FINALLY got around to ordering the Brushed Gold CS (and the Brushed Silver!) that matches the waffle paper, for this last Easter card sample for Mom. I used another cross embossed in gold from the lovely Crosses of Hope set, and worked samples on three different papers, again. I'm still using the sentiment she chose that I printed out for the cards... Crosses of Hope stamp set, gold waffle paper trim, Brushed Gold CS accents. Here's a quick card I put together for Todd to send to a wonderful pastor who sold him 4 tires on Craig's List - it turned out to go great for him - there's quite a story behind it, and it definitely deserved a card! So, my manly appreciation card for Todd to send! I love the truck so much! Basic Gray, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand CS layers, Real Red truck on Whisper White background, colored with markers on tires. Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories, Making Tracks wheel, and Much Appreciated stamp sets. One of the things I miss most about living in Virginia is the dogwood blooming every spring. I've wanted to try to keep a mini in a pot here in AZ for years, but it's just too dry, sigh. There's nothing like hillsides covered with dogwood in bloom, because of course, "It's a tree AND a flower," as they say in The American President! What a riot... So I knew I wanted to use the Soft Summer set for one of Mom's Easter designs - this is the second iteration. The In-Color ribbon makes for bulky bows, let's just say, OK? Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and Whisper White CS,Soft Summer, colored with In Color markers. Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslit. Sentiment printed on Laserjet printer.
Mom asked me to work up a few Easter card designs for her to try her hand at, so I've been playing with that today - here's the first one, in three basic colors, with Pear Pizazz accents. She asked me to use this sentiment, so I fancied it up font-wise and printed it out on my printer... I think it works pretty good! I have some ideas for another one of the crosses from this stamp set as well, that'll be coming up next! Whisper White, Very Vanilla or Crumb Cake CS, with Pear Pizzazz CS accents. Tulip Frame and Square Lattice embossing folders, black embossing with Pear Pizzazz and Always Apricot markers coloring. Lots of dimensionals! Sentiments produced on laserjet printer.
Here's a quick card I made from the Kimono Kids set - I've been wanting to bust it out for a while! I love sets that have so many elements that I can snip out, color in, and otherwise dress up for any occasion... Anyway, this is also a great set for an encouragement card to my tai chi friend, Kevin, who is working his way through acupuncture school right now. It's hard to be so busy! This card is a mix of old and new - I broke out a few retired colors that I need to consume. I miss Always Apricot so much! I still have an almost full ribbon spool of it... And I almost can't use Perfect Plum without pairing it with its old partner Pale Plum. Layout CASE'd from Splitcoast Stampers, as usual! Wow, I can't believe how easy Weebly makes all this! Awesome! So, card-night ladies, this blog's for you! What kind of theme should we have for our March class? I was tentatively thinking of focusing on flowers, and I'm working on the "pressed flowers" concept for one of them, as you can see. Or maybe we should do all green cards! I still remember one St. Pat's Day when my grandmother made a green supper for all of us - she even dyed my milk green, yikees! Maybe I could dye the wine green for us, and make green cookies - or veggies with green goddess dip, snicker... Anyway, the third Thursday is during Spring Break this month, and, actually ON St. Pat's Day - shall we move to a different day? I guess we keep ending up settled for that night, so shall we make it official? Except for March? |
